The problem is they turn it on and off which is the worst thing as it melts any built up of relatively harmless ice which melts and rehardens amd expands in tne worst places. Any new door be same way soon enough. About as long as that relatively newer one is. Any fix is just gonna shift the melted ice water somewhere else. Is your watch on the outside of your glove? The walls are not so crooked, the seams around the door are not touching because the soft metal skin around the door is been hit by handtrucks and its been pulled away in that section. A stainless cap over seam with silicone. 90% of the reason for failure other than abuse is because the installer didnt use silicone between any metal and when is door sealed the unit pulls a good vaccuum and sucks air between the metal that contacts gasket and the frame. It looks like gasket is not sealing..do this everyday. That cooler can be better than new with 20 bucks in scrapmetal stainless. Better than new.
Every walk in freezer that is either inside a cooler or outside in winter first thing i do is take off the metal that makes contact with the gasket and put silicone and reattatch. You were not accurate with the silicone statement. The will freeze up 100% of the time if not. They pull more of a vaccuum than most think. I changed a gasket on a wendys outside freezer. Ordered normal 3 side gasket. Uses a 4 side. I cut the bottom existing gasket and put on my new one and left very little seam betwee the new and old. Shut door. Visibly had a seal. Walked away. Once at my vehicle i heard a whistle from the barely visible gap where it was sucking air in. Its a freezer. Add putside humid air is ice. Ice in a freezer is like fire. Wont be long.
Replacing a freezer door on a walk in, I find that to be an oddity in you being an HVACR business. I would think that there are companies out there that specialize in such things.

Never knew the doors were so problematic especially when I've seen curtains holding the cold back. Thanks again for the videos! 🍺🍺🍺🥃🥃🍿🎯 Stay safe. Retired (werk'n)keyboard super tech. Wear your safety glasses!
The root cause of moisture intrusion is the air leakage is what the customer and technicians need to understand. Warmth travels to cold higher humidity travels to lower humidity Any air leaks in the outer skin of the door frame or wall means air and moisture will travel in through that leak to condense on the inner cold wall turning into ice continuously adding moisture content. Control the flow of air and you control the flow of moisture. Cause damage to the wall or floor through abuse opening up intrusions in the air will flow condensating moisture than freezing turning into ice The customers lack of taking care of the problem at the first sign is the cause of the high expense of the repair. Like a leak in the roof of your house fix it right away and you’re done. Or wait a few years until your roof rafters are suffering from wood rot the joist of the ceiling that holds your sheet rock and your walls on the side of your house start rotting away or attracting termites. It could be couple dollars to a couple hundred dollars repair if you take care of it right away or it could be thousands or tens of thousands of dollars of repair if you wait it’s the individual’s choice and cause of the problem

The type of caulking you want to use on all freezers is called butyl. Supply house sells it.
Type of watch is that?

Ah the Uga duga torque spec…… the auto tech crutch lol
How many ugga uggas is 52 ft lb?
I'm NOT an Expert, but it looks to me like they really need to completely replace the front wall and most of the floor of that freezer...
Which means it's never gonna happen until and unless that Restaurant gets a DO THIS OR ELSE Nastygram from the City Health Department because the floor/wall is disintegrating and/or reeks of Mold and Mildew...
I never worked on door frame...the company i work for gives those to the boxes builder company.
But always nice to see how it's done.
Btw.
Did you change your desktop camera? Looks cleaner.
Great video as always!
I just changed the resolution to 4k now that I have a computer that can process it...... I will discuss this on my Livestream this evening 11/01/21 @ 5:PM (pacific) on UA-cam come over and check it out ua-cam.com/video/WyMCP48lqx0/v-deo.html
That happens at my work we all just kick the door to get to open
I would think that there are companies out there that specialize in such things.
what does that even mean? Lol, Refer companies have that responsibility......lmao, it's not an oddity, people just don't like how long it takes if that's what you claim as an oddity
I will be going live on UA-cam this evening 11/1/21 @ 5:PM (pacific) to discuss my recent uploads and answer Questions live from UA-cam comments, Emails, and from the Livechat come over and check it out ua-cam.com/video/WyMCP48lqx0/v-deo.html
@@FrostHVAC I think you misunderstand. He's probably like me, not in the business, and finds it odd, and or interesting, that an AC tech is responsible for removing and installing doors. Like, as an IT tech, I'm not responsible for replacing doors on our secure areas.
@@FrostHVAC Hello there, I;m not or ever have been an HVAC person. I'm a retired jet engine tech.. I just find HVACR videos interesting. I did not know HVAC tech's replaced freezer doors. It just seemed a stretch from the normal HVAC repair work, that's all.
@@chieft3357 Ah my bad then, yeah sometimes some things we do would seem out of the ordinary, but isn't. Before I did refer I never knew we had to replace doors lmao, but we live n learn. I took it as maybe you were a critical tech/owner or something, I've found people like that
👍👍👍
Other then good job
Doors ,hinges ,heaters, latches, handles, thresholds, closers, trim, switches, light fixtures, lock releases, ..,... is this not for a carpenter and electrician? Oh no, we do it.

maybe you can put a sticker saying DONT LEAVE THE DOOR OPEN
👍
You keep saying the door has to be level but what I think you mean to say is that the door has to be plumb
I think it should be plumb and level and square if you want best performance.
Alright, soooo, alright...soooooo.....
Yep I have a ton of Crutch words.... I will discuss this on my Livestream this evening 11/01/21 @ 5:PM (pacific) on UA-cam come over and check it out ua-cam.com/video/WyMCP48lqx0/v-deo.html
Never knew the doors were so problematic especially when I've seen curtains holding the cold back.
Thanks again for the videos!

I would watch more of these videos if they weren't so long.. good info though.
The root cause of moisture intrusion is the air leakage is what the customer and technicians need to understand.
Warmth travels to cold higher humidity travels to lower humidity
Any air leaks in the outer skin of the door frame or wall means air and moisture will travel in through that leak to condense on the inner cold wall turning into ice continuously adding moisture content.
Control the flow of air and you control the flow of moisture.
Cause damage to the wall or floor through abuse opening up intrusions in the air will flow condensating moisture than freezing turning into ice
The customers lack of taking care of the problem at the first sign is the cause of the high expense of the repair.
