Dialpad Demo and Review - NOT a good pick for Small Business

- For a communication company the way DialPad pre-sales customers at arm length feels like a black box like google. The tour in the software is over-kill for a small business. I just want to see if the software will do simple tasks and I am met with 3 different numbers to use, direct number, mainline, meeting number.
I set up my auto-attendant in ringcentral.com in 20 minutes I after an hour of trying to get a simple setup I am no closer to a solution. Dialpad needs a basic setup for business owners that are too time strapped to learn every feature that they are offering. - Розваги

I used Google Voice for my small business and upgraded to dialpad and now. I'm switching because they're calls drop every 30 seconds.

I recently set up Dialpad for our small business, but we actually needed many of these call routing options (15 employes with multiple departments etc.). We were replacing an old Panasonic PBX system. I will say this, onboarding was (and still is) a nightmare. It is so confusing as to what we can or can't do with our current license, and we got nickel and dimed to death just trying to get the basic functionality that was promised to us by the "sales guy." That sales guy immediately stopped responding the second we paid for a year up front. I realize at that point we would likely be someone else's responsibility, but the way he (or she, couldn't tell) stopped all communication once we came on board was off-putting. Tech support in the morning is laughably bad. Do yourself a favor and call after 2pm PST if you want to be able to understand the tech support person, and if you want them to have any clue. I shouldn't know more about their system than their tech support people who don't have a clue and make you wait a ridiculous amount of time on hold while they try to find the answer (several calls took 45min plus to get a very basic answer about their system). And don't get me started on how bad the chat support is. The service itself seems solid, and works how we program it, but the tech support (before 2pm) and the overall onboarding process is terrible. Hope this helps someone.

Have you found the right crm?
I signed up about a year ago & never got around to setting it up so I can't give a review on how it works but I will say that trying to cancel the account was an absolute nightmare.
What software did you end up landing on? I'm using Kixie and it's meh at best.
Ring Central is easy to use. For more complicated phone systems Twillio has infinite possibilities. I had to hire someone on fiverr.com to help program it though.
Caution to anyone considering this system. They are NOT PCI compliant. Some of the "Ai" features really aren't automatic. They sell you on the contact center license then you find out that you can't pause recordings if a rep transfers the call to another rep and tell you you need to upgrade to a sales license at great expense to be able to pause recordings. It's ludicrous.

You're hilarious! I relate to everything you've said. I too just want a service that lets my one and only booker call potential clients, record what she says, and send text messages. That's it. Have you found a company that does this?
haha! Thanks! I was frustrated after 2 days of trying to make sense of the platform. For what you are doing I would look at RingCentral.com. There is a Ring Central app that your booker could use (on their phone) to call from your business number, receive texts and you can record calls from the Ring Central dashboard settings online.

Obviously you are not the target audience. Dialpad has been a great choice for my business. We have grown to multiple users with a single unified caller ID. Connecting Dialpad to a CRM takes it to a whole new level.
Are you running a call center?
I use Dialpad as an insurance agent and I love Dialpad. I use the mic and desktop speakers for calls and it works great. YMMV with them
Sharing your frustration. These services are overcomplicated.
RingCentral.com is a better option. * I do not work for them. I just used their service and it was simple to setup.
I am going to say if you are a one man show then yes this is overkill. If you pay 2-3 people or more to answer phones in your business with a high call volume then it is important to have this level of control and automation.
The AI explanation was a little off. The AI creates que cards for the person on the call based on the conversation with the customer. That is actually pretty cool.
