I was hoping for a more technical review of this tuner from the ARRL lab. This video plays more like a manufacturers ad than a product review. You didn't find one negative aspect of the tuner. Didn't even mention what bands it works, power limitations for various modes, or use for RTTY and other digital modes like PSK31 and FT8 which are so popular today. Can it be that it is the perfect tuner for everyone? Doubtful. Having said all that I like the feature set of this tuner, and it is on my short list as I am looking to upgrade to a more capable auto tuner.
Your review is very good. In my view this Palstar HF Auto tuner is absolutely awesome. I love it. Now I have paired it up with the LA-1K H LDMOS Amp from Palstar. Please do a review of the new amp from Palstar. The pair works together like a fine pair of gloves. I would love to hear your impressions of the new Amp from Palstar.
I just bought the pair & the tuner won't tune. Are u near LA? Maybe u cld drop by & put me on the air. But not till I ground everything. HRO said to ground everything. The tuner won't tune otherwise. Don't know if its a magic bullet, but I'll start from there. My antenna guy is a pro & knows all about installations, so I know he'll do it right. My first linear so there's a learning curve 4 me. My LDG & the tuner in the radio both tune up great barefoot, so I know my antennas are OK.
Yes, but when u change bands on ur xceiver, will the amp change bands w/ u like w/ the HF-Auto? I currently have an LDG for my bareft 101MP, but when I upgrade, that's the question. Plus I have 2 SWL rooms coming off my DXcc dipole. Which shouldn't be a problem using the right switches..

Yea, and today I just returned an MFJ-993B to HRO because it didn't work properly, right out of the box new. You get what you pay for. 73, WB4DW
I like LDG, but they do not make a legal limit tuner.
