I put a second rod in a holder with a 1/2 oz. Stingnose and let the up and down motion of the boat jig off the bottom. Seems to attract fish back into the circle when it get's slow. When the fish are aggressive I just stick with the Stingnose. I also use the Jig when arriving at a spot to test for activity.
Nice fishing technique you got there with casting and slowly reeling back to the boat for those yellow perch... It works ! I lost about a foot off my fishing rod tip today And replaced the eye but it's a short st. Croix rod now ... But it should work for catching yellow perch ☺️

Good times!
What type of fishing gloves are you wearing?
They are just a generic pair of gloves that were given to me - I like them as it keeps the sun off my hands :)
You said you are using braid but what size braid?
it was 15 lb Thunderbraid - you do not need 15 lb but that is the smallest size I had, and besides, it is so thin!!
Do you use emerald shiners?
yes :)
Perch tacos for dinner.
