I love love them all.
2024..... everything looks great. I love the classic shift.❤
The nun dress as you call it looks like a dress I had in the 60's.Shift dresses like the ones you have made never go out of style.Very nice.
Loved seeing the different looks to the same pattern. Give Poppy a hug and kiss for me.
I so loved these old vidéos, would love to see all of them again, good old times
Please can i have the tutorial on how to draft the pattern for a shift dress. Its a humble request.I love this style.
Beautiful attention to detail. Love the navy blue flowers and white cotton!
Great variations and I have a shift dress pattern which I will now try! Thanks.
Adorable! Thanks for showing all the variations.
It's lovely to see how versatile your patterns are. It helps us beginners who find it a little hard to visualise how a dress will look in different fabrics and the different versions of the pattern. I would like to see your Betty dress collection. Thanks for the vlogs they're really helpful.
+Tracy Charalambous So pleased - that is what I hoped would be the outcome - I know it is hard to visualise fabrics etc when you are just starting to dressmake!
That was a great 👍 tutorial again. Loved all those 👗 dresses and top, as you say it's so special to see different fabrics made up, it give us a better idea 💡 of how these fabrics work. Thank you so much 😊
So glad to see someone else has lots of dresses in same style !!! I'm not alone
Love this. Thanks for sharing. Mission accomplished, I want to make all the shift dresses!
I loved this! So neat to see so many different versions of the same pattern and hear some stories behind them. I'd love to see your Betty collection in a video like this!
I've had this on my "Want" list for a while. After seeing this, I'm going to get it right now. Hopefully this'll be my first make of 2016! Great sewing Lisa.

Great shift dress collection! It is my favorite kind of a dress, though most of people around me prefer a fit and flare dress (I also love the Betty dress). It would be lovely to see your collection for each pattern. Looking forward for the next video.
Would love to see more videos like this one and maybe even a closet tour!
You are so sweet! Thank you for this video, very inspiring!
Beautiful dresses.. and adorable puppy!!
Love your dresses, and the review
I like the one you're wearing the best!
Love the bird top too. Fab 💛
I'm sure I will make a couple of these lovely shift dresses, after seeing your lovely collection. Wish I could see how you sew one up. Great pattern for newbies like myself.
I love all of these! Also love seeing poppy I have a dog who follows me around as well.
+Suzanne McNally Ah then you know what it’s like :-) She is a cling-on!
On the pink one I really saw a scalloped edge. :) I don't know why, but I did!
Lovely dresses and vlog! Thank you! Compliments to Poppy! :))
Love the desserts pattern 😍
I made this dress in a African Wax fabric. I love it. 🥰
I love the concept of this video. Showing multiple makes of the same pattern in, "real life" does far more to illustrate a pattern's versatility than any other method of explanation.
If a picture is worth 1000 words, then a UA-cam video must be worth 500,000 words!
And of course, your beauty and elegance only enhance the loveliness of your makes.
I think it would be a great idea to have tutorial(s) whereby you demonstrate how to shorten this pattern to the shirt length, AND the more a-line, color-blocked style.
BTW, the color-blocked version did not say, "monastic" to me. It immediately brought the mid 60s to mind. And I'm sure the way you accessorize it when you wear it (no crucifix around the neck, for example) would be in your lovely vintage yet modern style!
+laceyunderall22 Thank you - I am glad you enjoyed it! Will plan a tutorial video for the colour blocking, making more a-line and adding cuffs!
tutorial on how to sew a shift dress plsssss
lindo gracias por compartir saludos desde Costa Rica
I love the white one too
I like to use the clingy sheer knit cool fabric. I have bought a few ready made from TJ Max.
Shift dresses look good with skinny jeans. :) Nice video!
Poppy is excited 😁
I just love ur all collection
Nd black one u where
With pink indian lace 💓💓
Bcoz i m indian
I usually use
Handwork lace in my dresses
These dresses are fantastic and please show how you made the contrasting dress.
They all look lovely. Can we have a tutorial please!!
An old trick for static cling is aerosol hair spray. In the PNW static cling is inevitable for certain fabrics. Spray under every layer of fabric very quickly. I don't know why it works, but it does. My personal favorite is the India white. Picturing that with skinny jeans, well, you must look absolutely stunning.
+Penney Burgess Thanks for the tip! Wish I knew that then!
i love the black colour block shift dress, could you please do a tutorial for us?
I wish there was a usable link to the site to purchase the pattern! You do such a great job making us love the pattern results!!
Laura Barber did you ever find a way that the shift dress pattern could be purchased?
I really like your way to teach us
your Indian collection of dress is so good
Ple can you show with the measurement how to stitch 😀
Do you have a video how you made those dresses? They are very pretty
Hi Lisa. Do you have any tips for adjusting something like the shift dress for maternity wear? I wasn't sure if it would would be better to just increase the width and length of the front panel, or to add extra fabric as side panels?
Hi Lisa! I know this video is old but I am dying to find what I think you called your whistle fabric? The black with sort of beigy rectangles scattered on it. I love it so much and want to make your shift dress in it. Any idea what I should search for? Have had no luck googling. Thanks :)
Wish i had the pattern for your dress
Color block tutorial please and thank you!
Hi Lisa, I love all the different variations you have made! I've just finished making my first using the ultimate shift dress kit. would u recommend grading between sizes on this pattern? or does the style in itself suggest it should be proportionally one size? my fit is ok but looser in the bust and waist (im a classic pear) but perhaps that could be the cotton fabric.
+Kimberly MacLean Yes you can grade between the sizes to make the hip a little larger - just place a metre stick on the correct size line at the bust and take it out to the larger size on the hip. Make sure that you grade out to the same point on each side seam and extra if you think you need it on the centre back seam. For the dress you have just made you can fit it in under the armhole.
What is the pattern no for your dress, a perfect pattern. Thank you
'Went to the URL for the class & 'page taken down'. Went to the URL for buying the pattern & 'this site can't be reached'. The shape of the shift dress you have there is just as they were in the 60's (I was a child, but remember them well), and I want to make my 93 yr old mum one now as I'm buying a sewing machine again as she's nostalgic for a 'shift dress' to keep her cool this summer (we live in Australia). HELP!
Hi, I’ve just bought the Ultimate Shift Dress Pattern....the difference between my high bust and full bust is 4 “, will I have to do a FBA???? Thanks
after seeing your amazing collection of shift dresses I bought the pattern. eek! very excited to get sewing. just one question though. do I need to apply interfacing to the neckline facing? all of the other dresses I have made have used interfacing on the neckline. Thanks :-) x
+Tanya Bennett You can apply it but I often don't as I don't like it to be rigid so it's up to you!
+SewOverIt thank you for your help :-) I decided to use interfacing, I have some that's not too stiff. I can't wait to get started on my next one. do you have a tutorial for adding a Peter pan style collar? Or could you point me in the right direction for one? Thanks xx
Have you made a dress with a V neck in the similar style?
hi, i love these dresses, thats why i bought this pattern :) i also adore some of the fabrics, for exampke the first dress. but unfortunatly i didnt understand the name of the fabric.. something like gurejet?.. hope you can help me;)

if you moisturize yourself before you get dresses boom no static!
I like the black with the white sleeve cuff and hem but I just notice the neckline I don't like it.
The color blocied dress doesn't look nun like. It looks like a timeless classic comfy dress.
It reminds me of Audrey Hepburn.
I love the looks. Would appreciate if you actually wore dresses to demonstrate look.
