Duncan, thank you! I’m a subscriber and as a senior citizen, I’m finally going to make pop up cards (for friends) that I’ve loved for decades. Your manner of teaching is so appealing to me because I don’t feel rushed… We had a few books by Nester, one was (a reproduction) at the zoo, and it also spread out, it was gorgeous. In about 1991, our son brought it for “show and tell” and the children loved it. We also had one where a man was shown, with a cut out for his face. There were faces on a wheel (not a pop up) that showed different expressions. This was actually very useful for teaching our son how to “read” people’s expressions. I like your channel so so much, I plan on getting your book. Thank you again.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge of these pop ups . I have always been a fan of math . Something many people tend to cringe at in my opinion, but I find it so fascinating . I have also been a fan of angles and their equations. I will follow through with your episodes so I can make my hand made cards more intricate and unique. Nothing more boring than a single plane and dimensional birthday card! Haha. I appreciate your time for educating us on these always fun and exciting techniques.
Thank you very much, sir! I've watched your tutorial 3 years ago and successfully finished my art project, but I forgot to subscribe you before, luckily I can find you again, your tutorials are really helpful and they let me know the charm of pop up art! Thank you!
Thats very nice pop up books and i really like the history of those, especially the first ever pop up book by theodor brown... Thanks sir duncan! I really enjoy the last part where u set the books to its original state like the dolls house and the circus... I love all of it! Thanks sir duncan!
Wow!! You have a great treasure there. Thank you so much for sharing with us and for taken the time to explain the mechanisms and links to your videos. I really enjoyed it. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Welcome back sir ....We missed u ..U r the best popup designer and teacher ....King of paper pop-ups ......U look more hands than earlier ...Keep posting such more videos ..
They are excellent, Prof. Duncan! "The Doll's House" is fascinating! I would like very much to see it more closer, to move its adorable pages, to be able to make one just like it for me. I love playing house!!
By the way, the book -- POP-UP design and paper mechanics, How to Make Folding Paper Sculpture --, that I had ordered on Amazon has arrived here at home. The feeling of opening the package and browsing its first pages was a magical experience, a dream caming true. The book is very beautiful, Sir! The colors and the illustrations are beautifully and carefully presented. The texture of the pages is very pleasing to the touch and the diagrams and the instructions are excellent, really very easy to follow, I love the book, Sir! A big hug to You, dear Sir!
I sometimes doubt on the artificial "intelligence" that runs youtube... Where were your channel before today? I love pop-up art and your channel is a wonderful source that I only now had access. I hope you keep doing it! Thank you!
I make scrapbooks and try to add easy pop ups whichever I have learnt frm tutorials on internet and now I found ur channel which is soo much fun to watch and easy to learn.. :) Thank u soo much for ur videos Sir
guys i know its a little off topic but i have a huge favour to ask....I've been trying to find a book i read as a child. The main character is called Angatha (that's all i know about this book) but i felt really magical reading this story. It had soldiers and horses and mice. it was a short picture book i read in the 90s. I've been trying for ages to find it, if somebody can help it would mean a lot. Thanks!
It's "The City Park" by Lothar Meggendorfer - a "concertina" type book - this one is from the 1890s - the one in the video is a facsimile. It's available on Amazon.
Hello Duncan! May i ask about how to make the last pop up piece that you showed to us before the ending? I'm planning on making aomething similar to that for my music teacher😊
International Circus is made with a series of panels - each panel raises a series of Parallelograms (Tutorial 5). The parallelograms form the underlying structure which raises an array of vertical planes the various different elements of the design are then attached to the planes. The bases of the panels are designed so that they can overlap - overlapping in sequence means that they hold each other down and then the end bits fold round to keep them down. (Sorry that end bit isn't a very clear explanation but I think if you watch the end of the video you can see how it works.)
@@thepop-upchannel4919 oh my God, thanks for the detailed answer!! This is so helpful bcs I've been trying to figuring the "tricks" out but my brain just can't catch it lol, prob will watch the tutorial!! Appreciate it very much, i hope you had a great day😆😆
Can you please help me. I’ve been looking for a pop out ballerina book from the early 2000s I can’t remember the name I was too young but I think about this book so often. It was smaller and more rectangular shaped it had lots of gorgeous art work

Sorry, I've never heard of this. Soldiers and mice has echoes of The Nutcracker - there are numerous versions of the story.
17:16 does anyone know the name of this book or what "type" of book this is? i know he mentions the creator's name but I couldn't quite catch that.

I'm not sure which one you're referring to - is it The Dolls House which starts at about 17.40? or is it something else?
@thepop-upchannel4919 sorry for not being detailed, it's international circus 1887😅

The only one I can think of is - "Angelina Ballerina's Pop-Up Dancing School" published in 2006. It's not very small though - about 29 cm. x 29 cm.
