"They say one out of three patients admitted into this place will die here. Sometimes the odds are way worse. But in those scenarios you just gotta hope that you take something out of that situation... Anything at all. Even if it's just to sometimes lie in the grass and think about all the things you've got left to do."
This song belongs to John Cale not just because his is the best version, but because he had the love and tenacity to reign in the multitude of verses that Leonard Cohen wrote to formulate them into the song you hear now, He was a true friend to Mr. Cale.
The very first time I heard this song, it was in Shrek, but it definitely caught my ear, and my attention. I still don't think there's ever been a better version than KD Lang at the Vancouver Winter Olympics.
finaly found this version!! its the same one from shrek 1 but when you look for shrek 1 soundtrack you found the ugly ass version and this one is nowhere to be found. been searching for years actually XD.. thank you scrubs
This version, the Jeff Buckley version, and the Rufus Wainright version are all beautifully done interpretations of this brilliant Leonard Cohen creation.
Original song is by Leonard Cohen love. Just to let you know. Btw the Jeff buckley version was played at my dear grandmother's funeral. It means a lot to me and my family. Makes memcry everytime. This ones for you gran
After hearing the pentatonix sing this song this version doesn’t have nearly the power it had the first time I heard it, I had goosebumps the first time I saw my old lady and this came on.
all i was looking for was a screamo version of this song... exactly what i was looking for. except for YOUR screaming. thats bad for your vocal cords.... you are literally screaming at the mic.... what did it ever do to you?
Scrubs had such a brilliant choice of music for the scenes.
yep!
Totally True!!

So many artist have covered it. It's a great song. This is my favorite version of the song.

I like the Jeff Buckley version. it was also played in The West Wing, and Lord of War
You forgot to credit the writer of this heartbreaking and wondrous ballad - Leonard Cohen who died on November 7th, 2016.

Watching Scrubs for the first time cuz I love comedy shows and I had to see it
Scrubs is one of those rare shows that is comedy, but it will absolutely jerk your heartstrings and make you feel.
Love this song,miss the show.
I should also have mentioned the versions done by KD Lang and Susan Boyle. Both beautiful recordings of this brilliant song.
@furorregnet i'm agree... this song is really amazing, but i think that this song is about tragedy of every man and woman in life.
After hearing the pentatonix sing this song this version doesn’t have nearly the power it had the first time I heard it, I had goosebumps the first time I saw my old lady and this came on.
Sehr guter Song
Wirklich gutes Lied
Oh my god. O:-)
@powerpaul1996 that's not the original song. it's a leonard cohen song. but Buckley does have the best version i think.
iam sailing melody or?
That was also from Shrek movie only
NOT by John Cale. COHEN famously wrote this very popular song.
Where i can see a song like“all of my life that could never......“ in Scrubs?
try All My Words by Kutless
+MilanRyanx Al of the Words by Kutless, actually. It's ostensibly about Jesus, but... it's not. It's about loving a woman.
Shrek Brought me Here

Please hear the origin Song... Jeff Buckley
You mean Leonard Cohen?
Jeff Buckley’s was a cover of an interpretation... which we have John Cale to thank for.
all i was looking for was a screamo version of this song... exactly what i was looking for. except for YOUR screaming. thats bad for your vocal cords.... you are literally screaming at the mic.... what did it ever do to you?
