Great way to make your player never have any ambition or play a difficult pass

Not a great coach. The player is clearly a defender, the coach should be teaching him to move the ball quicker.
Coach is right, that boy just makes me feel nervous watching him being nervous 😅
And this is why the model game sucks.

Just watching Dylan, I was thinking “he’s the guy I’d end up cutting. He’ll be turning the ball over ALL day long.”
He’s teaching him how to play with pace, this is going to help the game slow down for him. This is gonna help his decision making on the field.
Pho sho. If you can’t sit and be comfortable with the ball, you won’t see all the opportunities
He’s probs one of the nicest understanding coaches I’ve seen in a while

This is kind of how Brighton play the entire time. It works tho and it gets entertaining

Whats the point in good football if you gonna finish 6th
@@Johndoe-gf7eu 6th for a club like Brighton is good
it’s the way football in the uk should be taught, we’re all taught pass and move but realistically ball retention and calmness is far more important. Anyone can pass a ball 10 yards, not enough is done to coach players on their individual skill sets.
@@Johndoe-gf7euBrighton not being a large english club getting Europa league is huge
Literally what made Busquets an insane CDM.
Very spot on advice not just for football but life general. Our loss is in the anxiety, it cripples the mind.

As a midfielder you have to love having the ball
Looks like a center back. Midfielders have to get rid quickly and move the ball. Defenders can stand on the ball and wait.
@@wespicedmemesyes he’s right. Mid field I had to create a cross or instant quick pass. Luka Modric is a great example of being a tactical Mid Fielder

Fr i like to play defensive midfielder and i ask for the ball Nonstop 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Y’all ever look back at your highschool days and think of how bad you perceived football and the technical parts of it. At 19 I took a 2 year break of football and before I came back I just focused on purely the technical side and also analyzing tactical plays. And you start to see why managers get frustrated because a lot of teens don’t see the vision of playing decent football. They only think “ I don’t wanna fuck this up and for the gaffer to sub me off”. And that is what I think most of the young players who play well in practice but do bad in games are truly thinking. They lack confidence as much as the coach seems to make it seem they want them to make mistakes. It can sometimes be deeper than that and sometimes a lot of us have gone through a people pleaser/perfectionist type of habits that makes us anxious and predictable while playing. Really you should flow and allow your instincts that you practiced in training to show. Focusing on the timing and not being afraid of what others will say if you lose the ball. Always having the optimism that you will get the ball and move the play forward or backwards depending on the situation fully trusting yourself. Thus playing beautiful football. Let your creativity and instincts dictate your decision making and allow yourself to flow while playing for a better version of your footballing self.
Been spending sometime mentally breaking down the instincts part on my own, so I can just play ball and enjoy myself

This is good advice, it’s true … sometimes when we play but have no options we feel the pressure of holding the ball too long so we feel the need to release it
When u release the ball, you have to absorb some pressure, so that the number of people involved is the same. If you just release your ball, opponent actually have a +1 advantage.

You can see his nervous energy shift into conscious thought about his passing options.
Now thats good coaching.. helping him understand how to be better and calmer. Seeing more in hom than he sees in himself. Man theres nothing as life changing for young athletes as a proper good coach and man manager imo
Thank you for this vid! I'm going through the same problem, as I'm more prone to reckless passing whenever I am under pressure, or run out of passing options.
Yeah me too, I often need reminding. Another thing to remember is that when you display a lack of confidence you invite pressure, so taking your time on the ball with obvious intent can both give you more time to look for a pass and avoid shielding tackles
If i see somebody open ima fucking pass it, why would i stay on the ball, if someone else has a better opportunity coach needs to stfu
If you play center back and you run out of passing opportunities just score in your own goal and get the point 😂😂😂
I recently learned to tap the ball into space when receiving a pass. It gives you a vital second of setup time which can then lead you to passing to an available player, lobbing, through balls and even the occasional dribble if anyone runs at you.
By tapping the ball into space, I mean instead of controlling the ball which stops it dead, angle your foot so the ball goes in a slightly different direction, mostly away from the opposing player. I did this constantly last night and it changed my game in a very positive way. Highly recommended!!

@@_shibbydibopp__9516No, he didn't. I'd be like stfu right from the getgo, and probably give him the death stare at good boy. These coaches that talk, talk, talk, yell, yell, yell nonstop, they're trying to keep themselves relevant so they stay employed. But nine times out of ten it's a less is more situation. Let people think, they can do it.
@@californiaplant-basedeater2761if you can't keep your focus while training under a coach that talks and yells nonstop, then you aren't ready to play in front of a crowd of hundreds let alone tens of thousands. You ain't built for the sport, kid.
@@abstraqtphilosophy7357 You don't yet understand my point. You seem to be talking about getting players used to distractions so they aren't distracted during a match. Well, I agree with you that self-described coaches are often distractions themselves that need to be ignored, yes. Especially ones that say "good boy", "good girl", and ones that generally just tire out the player mentally by doing worthless drills that are far, far past the initial point of diminishing returns, like have soccer goalkeepers do diving drills over and over and over again, falling onto the floor each time until they're worn out physically and also mentally from the mindlessness of doing something they know they don't need to, and often in absurd made up scenarios in practice that will never be seen in a match, messing with one's muscle memory and focus for the things one will actually encounter, for example. And the yelling on top of this, the coach is messing with the player's ability to actually think, both then and in the future. Look at the best players in any sport. They do not have coaches that yell at them in practice, because they are on another level and the coaches know they can't manipulate them. They ought to extend that to all players and all people in general rather than assume everyone is a soft _d__t who needs to be barked at. They probably just have personal problems of their own they don't want to deal with. And they certainly don't want a player revolt and loss of a job if they feel they are actually inadequate, which 9 times out of ten they are. How many good coaches are in the world, really? People who truly know how to help other people? The adage "those who can't... teach" is usually not untrue to some extent.
Have a nice day.
Edit: Here's a particular example. I bet coaches have told Mohamed Salah, a left-footed player, at every level throughout his life, to not dwell on a missed shot but to act as if it is over and to just move on and try again, maybe even through yelling at him to do so but who knows. This has helped him to make follow up shots and such, yes, but imo it was just an expedient employed by an inadequate coach and not the only option. And now, ten years into his professional career, his right-footed shot is still as p_th_t_c as ever, often ending up with little bitty whiff of a shot to a goalkeeper's feet like from an amputee, wasting other teammates' energy on running up the field beside him time a d time again to make something happen in what was a very promising situation. If coaches had ever put in an iota of effort to help him help himself to become a thinking player rather than some kind of instinctual wildcard, at some point he would have seen that being a two-footed player would have reaped more benefits than what he has ended up becoming, a one season wonder who won the league and golden boot albeit with a large amount of penalty goals (a little unfair because Liverpool have been a very close second a couple times, I think). In the meantime, Pep Guardiola has won the league for Man City four or five times in a row, employing thinking players who can shift in and out of positions and with each other every now and then to keep everyone rested for each season's long schedule, with everyone knowing Salah is a one-footed player who can be forced to his right. Now Jurgen Klopp, the coach more likely to not understand his players, to put his hand on their shoulders like he's their father, to be a m_ndl_ss barker from what I've seen, and whatever other useless nonsense he employs behind the scenes, is on his way out of Liverpool and being Salah's coach while Guardiola is still trucking ahead. Guardiola can yell too but it is more about not sticking to a plan, in my estimation.

The amount of quick plays that are ruined by players waiting and taking too long though, this also gives time for the other team to regroup defensively, so it's got to be the right delay at the right time.

I like his method of coaching, proper. ✅
Cracks me up every time I see a player back up from the ball like they're taking a free kick. Keep training hard lads 🤙
Very good coaching. One of the first things I learned when I moved back into CB was the passing. Playing CDM or left back you can get away with a bad pass or two, because generally you can recover, from Centre Back you have to be so careful and purposeful with the ball

So true too, that lil bit of defensive stretching almost always makes space for teammates to absorb and rotate thru. Waiting those extra few secs for pressure to come can upon up so many other options
Winning football games is about moving the ball quickly before the opposition can mark all the players. A decent player is looking up and seeing where his team mates are before he receives the ball
Thats good coaching. No hash words, positive reinforcement.
This applies to many team sports too (basketball, hockey, etc). Always a good reminder that usually have more time than you think so don't panic and throw the ball/puck away by making a hasty pass.
I think the ability to control the pace is a very valuable skill and a rare.

Man I wish I saw this when I was younger, one of my biggest problems was always trying to get rid of the ball right away or try playing hero ball (ball that breaks opposing defenses) too much. Great tip for upcoming players
My first valuable thing I learnt from my opponents when I started playing football, I heard them talking themselves about how i passed the ball as soon as I received it just after that moment i held the ball and found out I'm natural with dribbling became a crucial playmaker of the team, to think that it's a rookie mistake thank God I heard them talking if i haven't I may not played football after that session
De zerbi has implemented this effectively in his build up tactics. The CBs keep the ball without moving around, waiting for the opposition to commit the press. Ball under the feet and as soon as a passing space opens up,they play through the press. Quality Football👍
Someone saying "relax on the ball relax on the ball relax relax" is really relaxing
This skill also helps you avoid setting patterns. If you're opponent has seen you play the simple pass "invariably", then he won't be en guard at the moment you decide to try and step past him with the ball
Great coaching!!!
