It’s coming along well and will look even better with the extra additions I have planned. It will bring the city to life. Thank you for sharing, I hope you continue to enjoy the progress! 😄❤️
Hey Jay, the new road plates look great! I wasn't sure about swapping to the new roads when they first came out but now that I have changed over, I prefer them for sure! 😃
Great city! You've got a lot of the same sets as I do. I'm guessing you started your collection 10-15 years ago. I enjoy seeing the occasional vintage set too!
Thank you for the positive feedback, I collected LEGO as kid and then picked it up again about 4 years ago. I had some catching up to do!! Thank you for leaving a comment! 😃👍
Thanks so much, really happy you are enjoying the new layout... it's much better being able to see the tennis court now too. Thanks for your comment! 😃
Thanks so much Karen, hope you keep following! I’ve been working on the mountain and camping area and that’s led to a few layout changes. There will be an update soon, I would love to hear what you think! 😃👍
@OldCityBricks Thank you very much for your comment! I’m really happy to hear you like it so far. It’s getting to the fun part now and can keep working on making everything look better! I hope you keep following and If you have any suggestions I always really appreciate it. 😁👍
Hiya Haz! Very well timed finding your channel. I'm mocking up my layout before moving at the end of the yearto a more permanent set up. Gonna look great when you get it all plated up 👍🏻 Are you gonna ballast the track one day? I'm kinda dreading that 😬
Hey Matt! Sounds like you have big plans for your layout too, good luck with it all! I am keen to get all the baseplates on and I will ballast the train tracks too. It requires a huge amount of parts and takes a quite a while to build... it will be a process for sure! Thanks so much for taking the time to comment, really appreciate it! 😃
Awesome collection subbed look forward to your city growing. I think the elevated section on anyone's build really adds a dynamic you don't get in just flat layouts.
Hi Neil, thanks for subscribing, I really appreciate it! I’m especially looking forward to what I can do with the elevated platform in the campground. Please let me know what you think as the city grows and any suggestions, I would love to hear from you again. 😃👍
I really enjoyed this! I am fascinated by the logistical issues in creating a Lego city. Not everyone is excited by discussing leveling solutions, traffic flow and the best use of negative space 😂.
Hey Lisa, I’m very glad you liked it! It’s certainly harder than it looks and requires a lot of planning in advance. I will definitely be discussing more of those issues soon! I am working on a mountain tunnel and the train track heights between the mountain and the city at the moment. It’s tricky! Transitions between both areas will be interesting to figure out too. I hope you follow and would love to hear any thoughts, suggestions or anything in particular you’d like to know more about. 😃👍
Thank you! The shelves are the Billy Book Case range from Ikea. I have used the 400mm and 800mm wide shelves, a corner unit and the extensions across the top for added height. It was the easiest and most economical way to buy them all at the same time. They are only 280mm deep so don't take up too much space in the room. I really wanted to leave as much space as I could for the table and walkway around it. I will eventually add some lighting too, so much to do, so little time!! Thanks for your comment, much appreciated. 😄
Awesome idea, thanks for your suggestion. I will definitely give that some thought and see what I can do! I had a beach volleyball court in the last LEGO City. Check it out and let me know what you think! I play volleyball… do you? 😜👍
Yeah I’ve dabbled in the wonderful sport of volleyball once or twice 😜. I’m also a big fan of the sport of volley pong. Absolutely love the Lego content btw keep it up 💯💯.
@@dodoman6136 I've dabbled in a bit of volleyball too. Glad you like the LEGO updates, always love to hear suggestions. Thanks for your support, much appreciated! 😜😀
Thank you so much, I’m really glad you like it! There’s a lot more still to be added so I hope you stay tuned! Thank you for taking the time to comment, your support is much appreciated. 😁👍
I’m sorry if that was confusing. I meant the roads were far from the edge of the table. In the largest area of the table, the buildings ran down both sides of the road opposite each other. That meant you couldn’t get close to see the face of the buildings. It was partly due to the layout and partly due to size and shape of the table. Something that always bugged me and I wanted to try to do better. Now most of the buildings, with the addition of the extra platform, face toward the edge of the table so visibility of most of the buildings is improved. I hope that makes sense. 😄
@henrys_bricks yeah, I kinda figured that was the case but I was still visualizing it in my head. Lol. Thanks for the reply. I envy you and so many others who get to do lego cities. One day. One day.
You’re welcome. Start small with your own city. You can start with just one small building that you really love. It’s amazing what you can do and how amazing it can look. You don’t need a huge city to enjoy it. You don’t even need a big table. Just make something you love! Most importantly just start!! Let me know how you go, I’d love to see whatever you do so don’t forget to share it! ❤😁
A fantastic detailed city . I loved the beach scene, theatre and those curved steps wow!!
It’s coming along well and will look even better with the extra additions I have planned. It will bring the city to life. Thank you for sharing, I hope you continue to enjoy the progress! 😄❤️
What a spectacular layout. THank you for sharing!

Them roads are as smooth as your studs

Looks good very similar to Bricksie's old layout with shelves going around the city. Are those shelves from Ikea by any chance.

An addition to the city I think could be made is an indoor and/or a beach volleyball court.

Also my favourite volleyball position is Libero, and I rly like the colour red, dark blue and white 🌩️🌩️🌩️
