What do you mean?. They left by choice because they believed that they would be harmed...which is not the case. Minorities are protected. Take for example, when ISKP attacked the Sikhs, IEA security forces defended them and IEA security forces died in this attack. It was under the US imposed govt, where the Sikhs properties were stolen in Kabul. This IEA govt will never steal their properties and will return it to the original Sikh owners of they provide proof of their ownership.

Secularism is the most misused term in Indian context where politicos, intellectuals and journalists routinely abuse it. Concepts of Sarvadharma Samabhavana, mantras like "Loka Samasta Sukhino Bhavantu" too convey the same which are very much a part of our DNA; infact they are far higher placed and connotes a broader idea than this western term imported.

This is Mama Shakuni's land.. he was a great warrior too but couldn't defeat Bheeshma. He took oath to take revenge for Bheeshma's actions and destroys kuru-vansh. Ultimately he succeeded as not much of kuru vansh was left after Mahabharat.
Sadly, what once was sanatan land, has no Hindus left.
Update: Many people are commenting that Gandhar and Kandhar are different. What I meant is the modern day Kandhar is within boundaries of old Gandhar Kingdom. (if you check the Gandhar Kingdom's map, you'll notice that the modern day Kandhar is within those boundaries)
This is Kandahar, the one mentioned in Mahabharata was in Northern Afghanistan and Pakistan around the Eastern side of Kabul.
This isn't the part gandahar which was mentioned in mahajanpads is north Western province which is Pakistan now and some parts of North Afghanistan.
Donot worry brother, this land won't be Islamic all the time, one day it has to identify it's root. Islam is declining, one day our afghani brothers and sisters will accept they are Sanatanis. It's just a matter of time.

It has been just 8 decades since the British left. Already Hindus are completely gone from Afghanistan and Pakistan. Look at Bangladesh. It has been just 5 decades since that country became sovereign. What happened there?
Among Hindus there is neither a desire to preserve their religion by reforms and strong laws to prevent people leaving the religion and stop conversions. Neither is there any desire to aggressively win converts like Islam/Christianity.
