Great video Ron... To my experience I came across a few composers that borrowed material from themselves. One in particular that comes to mind was the great Jerry Goldsmith; of course for a film composer under a lot of pressure to write lots of music in a short period of time was/is quite normal to borrow from previews works. BTW I really like what you played at 4:37 that beautiful cascade sequence of chords reminiscent to Debussy/Ravel... What did you play there if I may ask? Many Blessings Max T.
That's a great point about film composers. A;so, Bach, who was under the same sort of time pressure from week to week with his composing activities. That sequence at 4:37 was random notes within a pentatonic scale. Mostly a single-note melody in my LH and 2 notes at a time in my RH. Give it a try :)
Thanks Ron... 2 notes on the RH in sixths or other intervals as well... I particularly liked the sound of what you played... will watch the video again to capture what you did... Cheers, Max T.
beautiful !
Thanks!
Nice contrast'
I agree, Randy. Wayne Shorter is such a great composer.

@@maxtofone Yeah, mostly smaller intervals like 3rds and 4ths, but 5ths and 6ths would works well too. Have fun!
Many Thanks!
@@maxtofone Any time, Max.
