Drew Timme did not get drafted for EXACTLY what happened in Summer League: he has finishing problems. He gets his shot blocked and bothered by help side defense. Look at the difference between Timme and Denver's Hunter Tyson. Tyson blocked Timme's shot twice and completely dominated.

If he could become a bargain bin version of what Lopez was last year then he would be arguably the best backup big in the entire league especially with his drive and competitiveness. Not a terrible one to take a flyer on when you think of it that way

These three guys did nothing special during their college careers. College basketball has little to do with NBA preparedness. Teams are drafting 19yr olds so they can develop them from scratch and not have to undo NCAA teaching. How many division w 1 schools turn out game ready upperclassmen? Villanova? Wichita State?

Timme is MUCH BETTER than MattBeGreat is giving him credit for. Much better!!! If I was an NBA GM, I would definitely take a flyer on him for exactly why he was successful in college. He is a skilled big man with good footwork and a good handle. Do you remember the Big Fundamental. He is actually more skilled than the Big Fundamental. His athleticism is also better than advertised. He has a very quick first step. The outside shot could improve over time and he could be an NBA starter in a few years. Going undrafted with his skill level is mind-boggling.
I'm going to disagree w/ your analysis of Drew Timme on the basis that he was 'the guy' on a stacked Gonzaga team that has seen two players, Chet Holmgren and Jalen Suggs, go in the 1st round as lottery picks. I think it's likely he does at least end up in the G-League at a minimum or have some sort of agreement with a team that they will sign him to get him to a desired location. Notable names who were also undrafted: FVV, Reaves, Seth Curry, RoCo, GP2, Caruso, Kleber, Gabe Vincent, Duncan Robinson, Luke Kornet, Udonis Haslem. And thats only some of the active undrafted players
Timme is extremely undersized to play the 5 in the NBA and is too slow and weak to guard 4’s. His shooting range is only reliable to about 18 feet and he is very limited with his back to the basket. Basically, he doesn’t have a position in the NBA. If his game translated to the next level he wouldn’t have stayed in college so long. It’s not a surprise at all that he wasn’t drafted.
Drew Timme will be a neat free agent for a team to sign, his skills can be used. I also hope Adama Sanogo gets signed, he was a dog in March Madness, won MVP for a reason.
