William H Graves is a TN native from 1890's a lawyer who moved to Birmingham AL and he began to invest in real estate and organized the Graves Shale Brick Company in 1901. Living in TN I am facinated with history. Love this vid 🥰
This was a REALLY nice drive. I had never heard of the Dixie Brick Road something new for me. I was LMAO when the beetle was on Roob's leg and Kristy's reaction too Funny!! The spanish moss is beautiful on the tress, it always looks like the trees are decorated with it. Looked like Kona was having fun on the ride too. Thanks for showing us this so different and Very Cool!! Awesome Drone work and the music was perfect for the ride!☀️ ☀️ ☀️
Oh happy day! A vid from RnK! I have missed my fave Urbexes! So good to see you both and so good to join you for a lil while. Such a pretty spot too. Aside from the old inscribed cobblestones, it could be a back block in the bush in South Western Australia! Thanks Robb and Kristy! xxx
It all the craziness in the world, this was so refreshing and wonderful. I have been super busy and have down time this weekend & I was super excited to see several videos I am behind in. All beautiful work, Kristy's photos are beautiful. It was nice to see you guys back in action & Kona too! I sure have missed RNK!
Holy crap! You guys were in Espanola which is near my house. I started to ride down that road once on my motorcycle but turned around when it was mostly sand and not too many bricks. Great video!
Awesome! Have been waiting for a new video for a while and been keeping my eye out! This is a great video. Thank you for sharing your adventure with us :)
Awesome side trip down an old forgotten road. Think of all the hours it took for work crews to lay that brick and to continue to maintain it back in the day. Thanks for sharing. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Hi, that’s great. Isn’t there another one like this but is near Atlantic City, it’s in the series Board Walk Empire? You should see the amount of old cobblestone stone roads were I come from in Edinburgh, Scotland. When it’s wet or winter time they are perilous. Good to see your back, missed you both.
Lol that bug situation cracked me up! Awesome to see never knew about this! Feel like I'm site seeing without having to travel is awesome always have the amazing beats on your videos too cant wait for what you got next ✌ safe travels
I used to drive a Model A Ford and know what they can do, and when that road was in good shape, you could easily have made 40MPH all day. A Model T would have done less. More expensive cars could have hit much higher speeds. That brick road was probably a speedway for the daredevils of the day. Hope your Jeep brings you years of fun. I had a lot of fun years ago in my WWII army jeep that was built by Ford.
Glad to see you guys back touring FL. I live in FL born in this state have lived here most of my life. Hot weather all the time and no seasons probably my only complaints and there are many good places here beyond the theme parks to see! Did yall go up in the citrus tower and visit the hall of presidents while in Minneola?
We have a Dixie highway through our town in Indiana now they called at 9:33 at one time is called 31 they can’t make up their mind great video thank you
This was built in the same fashion as the sidewalk highways of old Route 66. To save money, only the width of one car was laid down and when you met another car, both cars passenger side wheels went on the shoulder while the driver side stayed on the pavement. Once passed, both cars would drive on the bricks.
Besides the alligator , venomous snakes, black bears, Florida Panthers , some regions have crocodiles and you might just meet the skunk apes. Some of the bugs and insects can get to size of your palm. If you choose to go off road riding. You might think about getting a swamp vehicle, Also; watch out for bayonet bushes. They can cut you bad. But only if choose go deep off road. Welcome to Florida. From someone who live in the state for years.
Haven't seen anything from you for awhile but I came across this and thought I would say hi and ask after the baby. Wouldn't hate an abandoned video (hint, hint).Hope you get this message and it makes you smile. Have a great day. Sending love.
Great shot of this! Love the old bricks! ALA, is Alabama, BHAM is Birmingham. This is the old way people would abbreviate states. Like MINN or ILL I own some 100 year old stuff.
Hey guys! Great video! I'm from Iowa. Going on a motorcycle road trip in January to Florida. Where on a map is this highway? It seems like a great place to put on our route.
This is pretty cool video being familiar with Florida as I am! But if you get a chance can you explore the mountains in Florida? I guess somewhere in Florida there’s supposed to be mountains that look like I don’t know Arizona mountains or something. Thank you great video
I lived in palm coast for like 15yrs I’ve been down that road before. Didn’t know what was in store for I almost trashed my car. If I remember correctly I had a Ford escort. How it made it out of there in one piece is beyond me. lol
1915-present. I couldn't even attempt to imagine how long it took to lay all of those bricks. From Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan to the southern terminus in Miami, Florida. That's 5,786 miles.
You were on the right road as it were with the model T ,you see brick isnt a good aggregate to build roads out of especially as it's handmade bricks they crumble full of imperfections with out any limitation on the number of imperfections per brick at the turn of the 20 century(The modern test is Non Destructive Testing of which I did 14 years in Aerospace) The weight of model T is light as cars go, as the years went by the brick deteriorates through age cars and commercials got much heavier.

I live in St Augustine and used to live about 2 miles from the old brick road out on 204/13 near Hastings Florida. Cool video guys
Some history on this cool brick highway would have been nice. Thanks for video!
I have lived very close to this for 31 years, and never knew it existed!! TY!!!
That is awesome that the old bricks are still there. I’ll definitely have to add this to my list of places to visit soon. Thanks for sharing!

Love the brick road :) Sounds like maybe Southern Clay Manufacturing
"B'ham" is short for Birmingham. I grew up there, though not the one in Alabama.
This was built in the same fashion as the sidewalk highways of old Route 66. Thought the same.

That was a pretty cool stretch of road, I miss the hell out of Florida 👋😌💖
Hey guys! Great video!

It made my day that you guys are on! Missed you. ❤️
You're in my neck of the woods. I live in Palm Coast. You should take a ride down High Bridge Road near A1A.
Why do I feel like all of a sudden I want to be the drivers side seat belt of a Jeep? ;) Nice vid guys.
I’m drunk as Hades, I’ll watch your vid later on, geez,!! Cheers, be safe!
Can I suggest that those bricks were made by the Graves company of Birmingham, Alabama? (bhamala)
That's the one.
I lived in palm coast for like 15yrs I’ve been down that road before. Didn’t know what was in store for I almost trashed my car. If I remember correctly I had a Ford escort. How it made it out of there in one piece is beyond me. lol

Kona is sooo darling !!
That is wild--10 miles of brick road! Looks like it is as straight as an arrow...and only one lane wide!
This is so cool!!💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
“B’ Hamala” 😂😂😂
It was B’HAM, ALA Birmingham, AL
when kristy gasped, i thought she saw an alligator walking up. 😂
It’s also known as the king’s hwy it goes through several states

What a monumental task to lay that many bricks. How long did that take?
How many bricks?
I know! 10 miles of it! Amazing+
We could work it out, given its ten miles, we know the width of a jeep and we know the surface area of a house brick...
🔔🔛🔔 I stay in Palatka. Ive been on some of the old Dixie, if yall come to Palatka. Wilson Cypress Mill. Great abandoned place. Lots of history
That might be where the bricks were made. In Birmingham Alabama.
Be careful this looks like a spot bigfoot would hang out. You guys ever see anything along those lines that creeped you out?
You guys seem like just 2 of the coolest folks to be around.
Graves Brick in Birmingham Alabama
Bricks produced from 1901 to 1920 in Birmingham, Alabama.
Hwy 17 was a brick road also known as the king’s hwy
With the bricks, I am assuming it means Birmingham Alabama and the word brick on the stone is the stone maker who made the bricks
I lived here most of my life I've never heard of that Dixie Highway being all brick
Don't live far didn't know about this might swing by there
Ty for a good video stay safe and healthy
👍. I'd be leary abt aligators chillin in them woods too. Like ( 👍 ) your posts, RnK.
I'd say that's Birmingham Alabama
Great your back !! B,ham at the start of the brick, is Birmingham. Maybe usa possibly UK, I'm in the UK we made alot of red bricks back in the day xx
Alabama bricks
RnK we gotta do a small lift and wheels on that jeep brotha!
Hope they're not actually graves!👻
old dixie hwy is almost 6000 miles long !! according to wiki
The woods on both sides of the road is private property so you can not go hiking.

Mfc co stands for manufacturing company
