RoboCop 2 Completed 1cc Hardest Arcade

- Robocop 2 (Japan v0.11). Hardest Difficulty. Played with MamePlus 0.134, no tools, cheats, autofire, or save states were used. Completed with 1 credit.
Sequel of the original arcade game developed by Data East. Most people prefer the first game, but it is not my case, as I find this game really original being a mixture of beat'em up and shooter. I only remember two similar games and they are Bucky O'Hare and Zombie Revenge, both of them released after Robocop 2.
Not really a difficult game, except for stages 3 and 4. Moreover, we can obtain 2 extra lifes by achieving a 100% at both bonus stages, although it is not an easy task.
I have played the Japanese version as there is a playable intro not included in the other versions. This intro is the ending of the previous game/film, something that Konami copied with Symphony of the Night (also found in Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap). In Mame history they say that in the Japanese version there is an extra scene featuring RoboCop 2 if you complete the game without using continues, but I have never seen it, so I don't know if that's true.
There is no difficult selector at all and we can find instead 4 different parameters that I have changed to the maximum level: enemy movement speed and strength, number of bullets they fire and the damage they can inflict on you. I couldn't obtain a "no-death" walkthrough, it is not difficult, but I don't want to repeat the gameplay until I achieve it.
There is a bug in this game that allows you to obtain very high scores and full refill of the health bar at the end of each level. You must kill enemy bosses when there is not much time left (10 seconds more or less), so the timer resets and it comes back to 999.

Aunque muchos prefieren el primero, a mí este me parece mucho más original y variado, ya que tenemos un beat'em up mezclado con shooter, y no hay muchos juegos de este tipo, descontando quizá Bucky O'Hare y Zombie Revenge, pero son juegos posteriores.
Realmente no es un juego difícil, quitando las fases 3 y 4 que son un poco más complicadas. Además, aunque yo lo he conseguido con mucha suerte ya que no es fácil, si completamos cada bonus al 100% nos otorgarán una vida extra.
He jugado a la versión japonesa porque cuenta con una intro jugable que no aparece en el resto de versiones. Esta viene a ser como la escena final del juego/película anterior, algo que veríamos repetido tiempo después con Symphony of the Night. El primer juego que hizo algo similar fue Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap de Master System. En el History de Mame dicen que también hay una imagen extra al final en la versión japonesa si completamos el juego sin continuar, pero yo nunca la he visto.
Otro detalle curioso es que no existe selector de dificultad como tal, sino 4 parámetros diferenciados, los cuales he puesto al máximo: resistencia y velocidad de movimiento de los enemigos, y la cantidad de balas y el daño que infligen. Por los pelos no he podido pasármelo sin que me mataran ni una sola vida, no es algo muy difícil, pero no tengo ganas de repetir la partida hasta que suenen las campanas.

This game should be remade, except we should ruin it by making it a third person shooter by capcom, also make sure theres plenty of useless dlc and co-op features
Why should it be done by Capcom? I know DATA EAST is gone, but I feel that if they were still around, they would've remade it if only they didn't go bankrupt in 2003. You see, that is why I hate the last decade and the late 1990s- most if not ALL of the underdog Japanese developers, like Data East couldn't compete against a famous as hell company like Capcom or Konami.

Siempre me hizo gracia esta escena en 8:32 cuando la musica se aceleraba por los sonidos repetidos del camion y la moto, ahora con las versiones mas recientes de MAME, el efecto es mas fuerte.
In new MAMEs there are additional (true) settings for this game : number of lives can be reduced to 1 and timer to 100 which makes the game unbeatable.
ScoopArcade I didn't know that. I'll check this game again, maybe I upload another gameplay, trying not to lose a life and with better video quality. I don't think I will change the time given for each stage, because that makes the game impossible as you have said.

este juego lo jugue por el '93. y un truco para sacar 1 vida (si una vida extra) consiste en hacer tiempo y cuando matas al "jefe de cada pantalla " hacer que se te acabe el tiempo y cuando guarde el arma se te habra acabado el tiempo , pero ya no moris y te da 1000 puntos y una vida extra, voy a ver si pouedo hacerlo y lo muestro, estoy un poco oxidado, pues ya son 19 años que no lo juego

kanasas2 No, sorry, I haven't practised it yet but it's a pretty tough game. There are some incredible gameplays of many Capcom's game in michaelpf08's channel. They are simply amazing.
I would love to make a game based off of the 3rd movie(yes, I know the 3rd movie sucked) but using the same tools and sprites that were used in this game for the HUDs and everything as well as sounds. The instrument set from this game would have to be ripped though for custom music. It will look its as if DATA EAST actually made an arcade game based off of the 3rd movie.
That would be awesome. I don't like Robocop 3 but it could be a good game if it plays like this one. Unfortunately, almost all original Robocop 3 games were a disaster.

Muito bom,isso é que é jogador termina o game sem morrer,quando joguei morri muitas vezes e usei vários continues, se fosse em uma máquina de fliperama, haja dinheiro para gastar com ficha.
Eu sempre gostei de Robocop desde criança,me lembro que minha mãe gravou o filme do Robocop 2 para mim,embora ela nunca gostou do Robocop.

La verdad es que en esta partida morí una vez, jaja. Pero no tuve ganas de repetirla, estaba contento con el resultado. Es un juego difícil pero con práctica se puede pasar. A mí también me gusta mucho RoboCop, especialmente la primera película.

si es un tipico bug de las arcade que sale,el del tiempo en otros juego un bug curioso es que si matas a un jefe y hay enemigos con sus vidas intactas,estos mueren de forma automatica aunque no los mates,esto pasa en el Alien VS Predator o el Cadillacs and Dinosaurus

curiosamente, el usa y world tienen esa fase 1 eliminada.. lo se porque antes de que saliera la version japo, yo ya tenia el codigo de pro action replay de elegir fase y ya me habia dado cuenta... :P
¿Cómo funciona eso de usar un Action Replay en una máquina Arcade?
pues es facil...
bueno, en principio es usando emuladores claro. pero las maquinas recreativas de hoy en dia no son mas que maquinas conectadas a un pc y con un emulador mame.
el antiguo mame32 hasta la version 126, tenia el sistema de trucos "cheat.dat". este se editaba muy facilmente con el bloc de notas y pegabas al final los codigos que puedes ver en mi blog "las locuras de cabohicks".
ademas incluia su propio pro action replay para buscar codigos, lo mismo que el actual kegafusion (si, el emulador de megadrive).
desgraciadamente, el mameui32 actual, que salio tras la version 126, cambio esto...
ya no puedes buscar tus propios codigos mas que por via hacking. o bien usando programas como cheat maker o artmoney.
sin embargo, si puedes añadirle el archivo de trucos.
ahora es un archivo llamado. "cheat.zip" que contiene dentro multiples archivos tipo .xml no editables facilmente (porque son rarisimos :P).
primero vas a planetemu.net, te bajas el emulador mameui32, el cheat.zip, y activas la opccion "enable game cheats" del emulador.
y ahora, al cargar un juego ya aparecera la opccion cheats en el menu de la tecla tabulador.
pudiendo activar los trucos propios del juego (algunos juegos como pacman, incluyen en sus opcciones trucos ocultos como "racktest" (saltar de nivel) o "turbo speed")...
y tambien pudiendo activar los trucos de pro action replay del archivo cheat.zip.
casi todos los juegos tienen trucos...
y muchos no son chorradas tipo vidas infinitas, sino elegir personajes ocultos etc.
ejemplo: el juego "mutant fighter" permite escoger a los 4 bosses (hidra, pazuzu, mago y dopple ganger). !toda una pasada!....
para usar mis trucos la cosa es diferente...
necesitas un viejo emulador mame anterior al 126. o sea un "mame32" y no un "mameui32" anterior al mame32v126, donde desactivaron el viejo sistema de trucos.
te recomendaria la web de darkryu:

ya que, como veras ha subido 3 packs de emulador mas roms, que consisten en un mame modificado/hackeado, para tener el sistema antiguo del viejo mame (se supone que con el viejo sistema de trucos!!) mezclado con el romset actualizado de los nuevos mame.
ademas tiene un kaillera para juego online que SI funciona bien, segun nestor del canal "con 5 duros" .
luego buscate las roms (esto ya es mas dificil porque es un romset viejo).
finalmente, los codigos mios los tienes aqui en mi blog:

en los links de mame.
es algo laborioso, pero luego se trata solo de copiar/pegar mis codigos al final del texto del "cheat.dat", abriendolo con el bloc de notas.
y listo... podras hacer algunas burradas como las del prehistoric isle o double dragon que veras en mi canal...
(cambiar el final del prehistoric isle o controlar enemigos en double dragon 1 y 2) jeje ;)
...entre muchos otros trucos que he publicado en esos mismos hilos de los foros de mi blog.

I can never find a video where it shows the programmers special credits when you 1CC the game in the JP version.
Does it even exist? I mean, this is a 1CC gameplay of the JP version in hardest. Which are the requirements? In case it's true there is a special ending.
according to the the cutting room floor, there are secret programmer credits that appear in the end, it doesn't actually explain how to get them it just shows the graphics but it does say they appear when you 1CC the game. I'm not sure if it is right or if the author of the page is bluffing. Here's the page. tcrf net/RoboCop_2_(Arcade)
I also read about it in Mame History. I guess the graphics are there, but probably there's no way to see them during the actual gameplay or by beating the game with 1CC. Maybe there are other requirements which I don't know about.

No, hardest is the difficulty of this gameplay. I changed from the default "normal" difficulty to "hardest", which means more aggresive enemies and some other changes. Obviously, this isn't the hardest arcade ever, actually it's quite easy compared to many others.
@@MrMaskaman Oh i see, how did you change the difficulties? On the arcade machines there was no option for this as far as i remember
@@kocsis1978 On Mame you have to press TAB and then enter the Dip Switches option. There you can find the difficulty setting. In Neo Geo games you have to press F2 for example and enter the soft dip option. The original arcade games had this option but only the arcade owner could change the settings. Sometimes they changed the difficulty to hardest to make people spend more money.

thefun frame Jaja, me pillas prácticamente retirado de esto y viviendo de rentas. Creo que no se ha pasado nadie ese juego, simplemente porque es muy largo y no tiene una jugabilidad sólida, por lo que se convierte en un intercambio de leches continuo. En otra época lo habrá intentado al menos, pero ahora es que no puedo estar dedicándole tanto tiempo a un juego. Sí, ya oigo los cacareos, jaja.

Es verdad que tiene fallos graves de jugabilidad.
El principal es que si estas pegando a alguien primero, que se interrumpa la cadena automatica de golpes aleatoriamente y te peguen a ti.
O si has agarrado a alguien primero, que de pronto sea el a ti el que te agarra y te haga una llave que no puedes interrumpir.
Cualquier beat'em up que tiene este fallo directamente es malo.
Una pena, porque si no tuviese esos fallos el juego seria escandalosamente bueno. ya que tiene la mejor inteligencia artificial de enemigos que he visto en un beat'em up.
Aparte de estos fallos, el juego en si es tan dificil, que cualquier enemigo tiene mas barra de vida que el personaje principal, de hecho, con la cantidad de golpes que le tienes que dar a un solo enemigo, a tu personaleje le habrian dado el equivalente de perder tus 3 vidas. ademas tus enemigos, no te dan un golpe, si te enganchan te dan una cadena completa que tu no puedes interrumpir.
ademas de esos fallos como regla general, en el escenario del teleferico, cualquier enemigo que te agarra, te lanza fuera, y es muerte directa y tu no puedes lanzar a nadie fuera. y si salen unos 50 enemigos es casi estadisticamnete imposible evitar que nadie te agarre.
El juego solo da en factory settings normal dos vidas.
El primero, DJBOY, no tenia estos fallos de jugabilidad y se puede pasar con un credito, sin excesiva dificultad.

Luego estuve indagando y no vi ninguna partida completa al juego (ni MARP ni nada, que UA-cam no hay que tomarlo como referencia de partidas tampoco). Otro juego que me parece muy bueno y diría que no hay partidas completas es el Boogie Wings de Data East, pero ya digo que yo estoy retirado de este tipo de retos, jaja. ¡Un saludete!
***** Pues si, al acabarme el primero, intente probar con el segundo de la saga, y lo mas que me he podido llegar con un credito, y solo lo consegui una vez, fue hasta el teleférico precisamente.
En su favor hay que decir que si consigues un arma, bate o palo el juego se hace significativamente mas facil y es el "truco" para llegar lejos, hacerse siempre con un arma en cuanto este disponible. Y ¡ay de ti como la pierdas!.
No lo descarto, pero la posibilidad de ver una partida terminada de este juego, lo veo extremadamente escasa.
El Boogie wings yo creo que no hay por donde cogerlo. es uno de esos juegos pensados unicamente para ganar pasta, de los que hay unos cuantos. creo en mi humilde opinion que se puede considerar imposible sin asomo de duda. Un saludo.
