I too am getting too start a 74 bronco and regardless of how GOOD your videos are it reminds me of how my children are and were. So cheers to you and yours sir. Good channel. THANKS.
That dented bumper that you mentioned is probably from the C4 popping out of park while the motor was left idling. The C4 was notorious for dropping out of park, for example, if you parked at the vehicle while still running, got out & slamming the door shut was enough to drop the transmission into reverse. So, many C4 vehicles tend to have rear end damage... I still recommend swapping out the C4 for a C6... ^_^
BTW: in case you didn't know already. One way to find vacuum leaks that I heard about was using propane to check all the intake and vacuum spots. Like around intake manifold, etc. If the engine increases idle, you got a leak.
Thanks, I'll have to spend some time troubleshooting. I'm going to start with testing the vacuum advance to see if that is introducing a leak (The distributor is old) and then work my way backward toward the firewall looking for manifold leaks. I think the C4 is vacuum modulated so even that might be a potential leak spot.
I don't know to be honest. I have a duraspark distributor not points so can't help you there.. It didn't sound like an ignition problem to me, but that won't be the first time I've been wrong.
could be a lack of fuel and u just need to set the idle mixture screws up a little to account for load or it could be a vacuum leak like everyone else is saying
It was three things, the rebuilt carb was bad, the transmission modulator or whatever that thing is called (I forget now, it's in Episode 14) and the vacuum advance (Episode 11). Thanks for subscribing!
Yes i think i posted the comment to soon. i watched some more and you explained what was wrong. They are always a work in progress it seems like. Good job on the bronco and great videos.

You're doing a great job, Matt. Can't wait till the next episode!
Thanks! It should be out tonight.

I found the problem! I think. Waiting for parts. You'll see the diagnosis in episode 11.
Timing or vacuum leak like what was said below sound the most likely.. Could also be air fuel mixture or something with carb setup.

maybe timing but I agree with a vacuum leak
Exactly what my truck did, my timing was off and my carb needs adjusted... I think.
Good lookin bronco! Workin on my own 69! Love the videos keep it up.
Great stuff. I enjoy these videos..
Thanks a lot Tyler. I have parts on order so there are more videos on the way!
I'll be watching! thanks. I hope to have mine back on the road in February 2017.
Fuel issues?
I can't think right off hand what it would be. If I had to guess, it might be a vacuum leak somewhere or not enough fuel getting to it.
Not yet Nathan. You're right though. I'll check those next! I noticed the distributor doesn't have any weights on it. Is that normal?
I don't know to be honest. I have a duraspark distributor not points so can't help you there.. It didn't sound like an ignition problem to me, but that won't be the first time I've been wrong.
looks like the brakes were stuck

Are the parts cheap
ArchV1 the parts for what? The carb or the bronco generally? The bronco parts are very reasonable because of the volume.
@@MattsGarage the bronco. my dad had one and i want to restore one and make it look factory
was it the transmission?

Timing
Orion Burton ended up being the accelerator pump.
