Unbelievable. I paid almost 200 bucks for this and had to open it up and lift the connectors. Thanks for the video. Solved the battery not charging issue.
I tried that, but wasn't able to take panel out, looked like something was holding on usb plug site. So I didn't force it. I put it back together ready to email ledger, but it start to charge, so happy with that. Thanks. Fixed without taking electronic panel out. Thanks again.
Man. All the recent comments of this issue makes me wonder if it was on purpose...i had the SAME issue! It worked at first. Used it for and hour. Installed everything. Then left it for a month. Tried to use it and got that message to unplug. Saw this vid, did it, and it WORKED! AMAZING!
Holy crap, i recieved mine today and it didnt charge aber hours of being plugged in. This fixed it for me and its charging with almost 1% every 5 secs! Thank you!
Thanks it worked!! I was so disappointed when mine was not charging. Kinda sucks that one has to still go through all this after spending 100+ on a item.
Holy crap. I felt like such a badass doing that and it worked lol Thanks man!! I turned mine upside down when I did it so that I didn't have to pull all the bits out!!
I'm not a techy person at all and have been frustrated that I couldn't get the battery to charge! How hard is that? Till I found this, THANK YOU! I'm now charging and looking forward to the next step. Also I did it upside down for less parts to put back together.
Thank you so much for this video, I must have been one of the first unfortunate ones to experience this problem. It happened months ago and neither googling a solution, or talking to ledger support offered any viable solutions. So I have been keeping my crypto on Gemini and Coinbase...but never feeling good about it. I decided to google this topic again and found your video. The solution was both simple and effective, and your video made it so very easy.
thank you so much , it was a ez fix but i had this problem from the beginning and couldn't even use it propperly but thanks to your vid i can now use it again . thanks man big love
Just received mine today and got the same message. Im not the greatest with technology and this was fairly easy for me to figure out and fix! Thank you.
the battery does not charge on Nano x, why? my device is 3 days old, how can this be fixed? I have a hunch that you knew about this problem in advance but did nothing and sell us defective devices
Brilliant - putting tape on the buttons to hold them in is a great idea. Ledger quality control needs work. But given this is such a common problem, why isn't it in their FAQ? Insane.
It works. In some cases the Nano X has three contacts and also you need to fill a gap at the end of the plastic box because when you plug in the USB to nano, the circuit board moves to the end of the box and this cause that the board don’t make contact with the battery.
I just got one and had it doa. I watch your video excited to fix it but I guess they solder the batter to the board now and I have no clue how to fix it except to wait for the support email to get back to me. This is the last time buying any electronics made in the EU.
Thank you! Was about to send this POS back because it wouldn't charge. Unbelievable that we pay so much money for them and they don't work out of the box as it should. Cheers!
alright y'all so here's my experience with opening this thing in an attempt to fix the battery issue just in case this info helps someone. i got the nano x like a week and a half ago and it wouldn't charge at all... I was ready to return this thing for a refund bc even after doing everything in this video, the battery still didn't work for me and it was frustrating but after a week of contacting ledger (they reply so slow lol), they said they were about to give me a shipping label ASAP which they haven't for the past few days (i'm still waiting for one 🤣🤣🤣), i decided to say F it and just try to charge the nano x again and all of a sudden it worked lol. Guess i had to wait a bit or something.
Got the same issue out of the box! Not just can't charge, I even got the message "Battery Temperature Too High" after few minutes even it's still cold! This device's design quality sucks! This video helped resolved not charging issue but temperature issue still remains. Battery drains super fast almost immediately after plugging out power even if I've disabled Bluetooth. Not sure anyone has the same issue?
By the way, you can totally disconnect the internal battery and use USB only just like Nano S by placing a small trip of paper (I use an anti-static plastic) over the 3rd connector - the one below the two shown in the video at 2:04. This resolves charging issues and "Battery Temperature Too High" problem in some cases whenever you plug it in.
I just got my Nano X and had the same issue. Opened it up and did the whole adjust the contacts and adding tape. The device still wouldn't charge. It turns out that it's because the firmware needs to be updated. Install the Ledger Live app on your computer and plug the device in, set it up and then update the firmware. It is charging now. The battery function was not activated in the old firmware. I hope this helps.
I thought I was going mad. I had also tried everything. Then I saw your message and it did turn out that updating the firmware also worked for me. Thanks mate.
Thanks, wish would've seen this video before trying to get my third replacement. At least I'm getting a Nano S as a gift after telling them I was considering getting a refund to buy a Trezor instead.
Not sure if this will work for anyone else, but I just happened to plug it in and unplug it while it was just beginning to start up and it stayed on for a second. Then suddenly the battery was able to charge after that. Hope this helps someone. The version I have has the chip glued/clipped inside the casing somehow so I could not take the chip out and the above just happened to work for mine.
in my case the ledger nano x says a message of: "the temperature batery is too high for charging". I turned on my air conditioner and put it to charge in the air window. And that way the battery charges. But this is a serious ledger error.
i followed the steps, but didn't work. Based on comments from another video i had to go to the nano control center (while plugged in) and power off about 4 times before it started charging again. Try this in case yours still gives you the battery cant charge error message after following the video
I followed the instructions in your video but I don't think that it fixed the problem. I am still see a plug icon in to top right hand corner of my screen. I will leave it plugged in over night to see if it charges or not but if the icon any indication it appears that it is not.
Спасибо! Хотел уже выкинуть эту помойку, а оказалось дело в контактах. Хорошо что он ремонтопригодный, Сейпал к примеру при вскрытиии уничтожит все данные
Unbelievable. I paid almost 200 bucks for this and had to open it up and lift the connectors.
Thanks for the video. Solved the battery not charging issue.
I did this as well, worked for me.
Serious tip. Before opening the case TAPE the buttons to the face. Much easier. 👍🏻
Oh my god!!!! Ledger needs to send you a fat check for posting this!! Thank you so so much!!! Took me 3 minutes with a tiny tiny screw driver!!!
For $200 you wouldn’t think you’d have to do this. But thank you so much for the step by step.
I tried that, but wasn't able to take panel out, looked like something was holding on usb plug site. So I didn't force it. I put it back together ready to email ledger, but it start to charge, so happy with that. Thanks. Fixed without taking electronic panel out. Thanks again.
My ledger has been sitting in my safe-box for months and when I took it out it was dead and couldn’t charge. Thank you for this video.
Man. All the recent comments of this issue makes me wonder if it was on purpose...i had the SAME issue! It worked at first. Used it for and hour. Installed everything. Then left it for a month. Tried to use it and got that message to unplug. Saw this vid, did it, and it WORKED! AMAZING!
same, i feel like, its the pressure of our thumb on the panel ?
Holy crap, i recieved mine today and it didnt charge aber hours of being plugged in. This fixed it for me and its charging with almost 1% every 5 secs! Thank you!
Had this issue straight out the box. No charging issues now. Great video. Much apricated!
👌This absolutely works, should have searched online how to fix before buying bunch of USB C cables Great JOB!!!
Thanks it worked!! I was so disappointed when mine was not charging. Kinda sucks that one has to still go through all this after spending 100+ on a item.
I don't usually go out of my way to comment on a youtube video but thank you so much!! I can't believe this actually worked!
It worked. Thanks man, unbelievable that Ledger hasn´t been able to correct it!
Yes,yes, yes!!! It took me 5 minutes!! Now I can seeeee! It’s charging!!! Thank you very much!! That was it!!
5min lol. I’ve been trying to put this back together for 2hr
Holy crap. I felt like such a badass doing that and it worked lol Thanks man!! I turned mine upside down when I did it so that I didn't have to pull all the bits out!!
Seriously, felt like such a techy haha and thanks for the tip of having it upside down, that made it super easy! 🤗
I'm not a techy person at all and have been frustrated that I couldn't get the battery to charge! How hard is that? Till I found this, THANK YOU! I'm now charging and looking forward to the next step. Also I did it upside down for less parts to put back together.
Tried this and now it works perfectly, thanks dude!!!

oh man, you save my life. great video. My nano x got same charging issue since day 1. It is fixed now. Cheers
the battery does not charge on Nano x, why? my device is 3 days old, how can this be fixed? I have a hunch that you knew about this problem in advance but did nothing and sell us defective devices
Brilliant - putting tape on the buttons to hold them in is a great idea. Ledger quality control needs work. But given this is such a common problem, why isn't it in their FAQ? Insane.
then they would have to admit it
That knife is priceless😌👍. I open my ledger nano x with my nails at one corner and after that with a stupid card from revolut
Legit need a video on how to use your nail. LOL. I simply do not have these tools lying at home randomly. Already killed a few of my nails.
IT IS VERY EASY AND FAST IN EXACTLY IN 5 MINUTES, AND THESE HOW ARE THEY NOT ASHAMED TO SELL US NON-WORKING DEVICES
Thanks. Simple workable solution. Worked for me. To bad Ledger doesn't test them before they go out.
Thanks bro. I couldn't believe it just literally opened the box then did a search such a common problem
Best and easyest Help. Thank you very much!
my nano is charging now! thank you so much!
Not all heroes wear capes. Thank you!
Much appreciated for making this video! That worked for me! Sad this even had to be a solution for something right out the box.
It works. In some cases the Nano X has three contacts and also you need to fill a gap at the end of the plastic box because when you plug in the USB to nano, the circuit board moves to the end of the box and this cause that the board don’t make contact with the battery.
Same thing , have you tried it
Thank you so much it's really work for me😊
GREAT, I did and it worked, saved time and money for me
This works like a charm !!!! Thanks much for this its very easy to do and save your ledger haha
Fixed mine from not turning off. By pulling apart to disconnect battery. Then reassembled. Now working fine. Saves waiting for battery to go flat
Thanks a lot for your help, pretty ingenious stuff but it works in the end !
I tried to do this but still can’t charge, I’m getting exhausted 😶
I just got one and had it doa. I watch your video excited to fix it but I guess they solder the batter to the board now and I have no clue how to fix it except to wait for the support email to get back to me. This is the last time buying any electronics made in the EU.
Yes yes , I did this now it’s charging , thank you 🤙
Ayo!!! you just save me bro. It's working now. thank you very much
Hello , i try this trick but the battery still does not charge , any other suggestion ?
Open it again and pull all 3 metal things up not just those 2 he shows do all 3 and close the Nano Gently as you can. I just fixed mine.
Thank you! Was about to send this POS back because it wouldn't charge. Unbelievable that we pay so much money for them and they don't work out of the box as it should. Cheers!
You are a hero!
Спасибо, ты спас мою задницу от возгорания от гнева.
This worked perfectly!!!!!!! THANK YOU!!!
Very helpful, thanks!

Got it! Thx for the tip.
Really worked right away! Thanks a lot! Really helped me!
119 € for having these kind of issues? This bring me a lot of security doubts...
Works like a charm! Thank u for this!
Had the same issue. Thanks a million mate!
Thanks for the tip!!! I was frustrated with mine always giving me that error, its fixed!!!
Does Nano X work without battery even if you isolate battery contacts? Does Nano X's OS allow it to run without battery detection?
This worked for me as well. Thanks a million ✅

@@klaysnerfonsecadasilva1235 glad it worked for you.
They changed the connectors as of recently and the connectors are different so you cannot bend them.
Thanks, wish would've seen this video before trying to get my third replacement. At least I'm getting a Nano S as a gift after telling them I was considering getting a refund to buy a Trezor instead.
Did you have to send in your old ledger to get a new one ?
@@ryanp7122 Yes but I asked them to please send me the new one first so I can transfer my crypto before I send out the old one. They agreed
Haha
thanks a lot... though I struggled to open at first, but eventually got it sorted
Thank you so much bro, this helped so much. And like others have said, it’s definitely easier if you do this with the nano upside down! 😁
Thank you, good video for battery connection pins repair and to solve battery contact problem.
You are a god sent angel. 🙏 Thank you from the deepest bottom of my epiglottis!
Not sure if this will work for anyone else, but I just happened to plug it in and unplug it while it was just beginning to start up and it stayed on for a second. Then suddenly the battery was able to charge after that. Hope this helps someone.

Thanks, worked for me! But Ledger shouldn't sell faulty products...
its works, thanks!!

But Ledger should fix the problem!!, many customer have this issue!!

Thks bro !!!! It s work fine !!!! :)

I wonder if the lithium battery is replaceable. :)
Ledger should pay you for this.
i followed the steps, but didn't work. Based on comments from another video i had to go to the nano control center (while plugged in) and power off about 4 times before it started charging again. Try this in case yours still gives you the battery cant charge error message after following the video

did it work? For me it seems to be the same as before. Also i dont have two connecters on the top, just 1
