The barriers here are quite old, and the barrier skirts have been fixed together with tape. Beside the crossing is a single lane low underpass. Overheight vehicles must use the crossing if they can't fit underneath the underpass.
Thanks For Watching!
This crossing has gone through way too many barriers! And accidents. It could be made into a whole PowerPoint presentation
Great video! Unique alarm there, lol. Seems like that crossing's seen better days as well.
Excellent video of one of my favourite Essex crossings! That alarm sounds funny, and still sounded like that about a month and a bit ago.
Thanks very much 😁 Yeah, that alarm probably hasn’t changed and still sounds like this. Quite impressive as I bet it’s quite old. Nice crossing too I agree 😉
Great video
Thanks 👍
That alarm doesn't sound very good
It’s alright, at least it still sounds and hasn’t required a replacement
One of Goring-By-Sea's alarms sounds exactly identical to that one.
I'm fairly sure that this might be getting removed in future...
There is the potential for this to be closed, however it would then restrict over-height vehicles who couldn’t fit under the underpass. Given it’s infrequent use currently only being used by tall vehicles, I doubt it will be closed for the foreseeable
@@UKLevelCrossingsChannel Or they if they decide to upgrade it, they could make it an MCB-OC, as it's fairly unused.
It’s used far too much to become an MCB-OC. There’s at least one vehicle crossing every minute or so. Potentially might become an MCB-OD in the future if there’s a safety risk issue.
@@UKLevelCrossingsChannel I don't think it'll become an MCB-OD, as it's too long. The largest MCB-OD in the UK is Melton Lane in East Yorkshire, as it has three tracks, and is quite long. The second longest is Grimsby Town Station (Wellowgate), which also has three tracks, but splits into two towards Sheffield, and splits into one past Garden Street LC.
