Then there were a few unique special ones thrown in here and there, stuff you normally wouldn't find but were interesting to see what made them unique. Then the special / unique ones became much more prominent and some really high end ones started making appearances. Now the transition to 'high end premium Gibsons that you can never afford' is complete. Super rare prototypes and very high end limited editions galore. The best part though is those early videos where he's selling a $1,000 guitar were so serious and now that he's selling $10,000+ guitars he's just himself, minimal salesman mode and really willing to say 'man this aging looks fake!'. Guitars like those will sell anyway so he lets it fly. I appreciate that, though I imagine Gibson cringes (and you know someone there is watching). Always learning something new in any 'Trogley era'!
I play both, it’s nice when Trogly surprises us with a bass every now and then... then again I’m jealous he was able to get a vintage EB-3... I’d ask Gibson to reissue them, but I probably couldn’t afford that either! (Epiphone did, but at 34” scale, I prefer the original short 30.5” scale).
Hello Trogly! I have a Gibson 25/50 Anniversary Les Paul, but need A CASE for it. Currently I only have a Gibson "gig bag" to protect it. Watching this video prompted me to think..."maybe YOU might be the guy to go to" for an appropriate hardshell case for my collectible LP...?? Please let me know. Thanks! Lee.
MY Canadian made late 1990's case is pretty beat up and the combo lock siezed up (I had to pull it off virtually to open the case LOL. Greatcase and it has the blanket as well. I wonder if I can find a replacement?
You can't see the top or case when playing it. One thing about keeping all of those guitars...You gotta do something with them before you die. You also need to get out and actually play them. What does the boy at the end know about "classic feeling"?
I think the break in period for a good leather jacket is about 15-20yrs lol. I still have the first one I bought when I was 19, I'm 45 now. The jacket itself fits but my arms grew along the way. It's more of a 3/4 sleeve now
The second case is the one I have got with my LP Custom (late) 2007 (I bought it in the summer 2008 new in the UK), but the interior is red, not gold (as far as I can remember, it has been in storage for years now). Beautiful case, far better then the one on my LP Standard 2003 (black interior, looks like a silly teddy bear).
Trog man, you totally rock that jacket. Break in and do some modelling with a Lessie over your shoulder. I adore reissues. I like them better than vintage ones.
The true historic was introduced in late 2014 as a 2015 model. It was offered again in 2016 with very few available as 2017 models. Not sure why prototype #1 was dated as a 2017 when the model was phased out.
Man you got to be one of the hardest working UA-camrs out there. Good stuff all the time, makes May Day. Keep up the hard work. Have a merry Christmas!! Oh, favorite item was proto number one. It’s not to busy looks like a nice old Les Paul.
Hi Trogly, thanks for all the guitar knowledge you give us every day, may I make a constructive comment?,....maybe its time to invest a little bit on your «decor» its very, let say, minimal to be polite, maybe you don't see it anymore but we see the inside of your garbage bin all the time...
That's what a lot of us come here for, honest everyday real shit! Not some sellout dickcheese clout chasing douchetuber who chooses good optics over good content.
I hate relic jobs. If I buy a new guitar I want a new guitar. If I wanted an aged guitar, I'd prefer to buy an old one. But that aging on the LP prototype isn't too bad. I agree regarding that heart on the top, a little too much for me, too. I prefer the Cherry Sunburst to the Lemon burst, but if I were you, I would put that lemon burst into one of those new cases (the tweed or the one with the yellow interior).
It would be really cool if Trogly could unbox and review a korina signature model like Allen Collins explorer Gibson did a reissue of, or a Joe Bonomassa V from epiphone.
Man I love those true historics. They are the closest in look & feel to a real burst imo. Much more so than any other Les Paul reissue I've played. Granted I've only ever played one real 1960 Burst. Nice guitars though. Other than a historic makeovers with a Brazilian board, the true historic is what I'd pick if I was buying a burst replica.
Wearing a leather jacket is all in the attitude. You have to believe, balls to bones, that the jacket is you and you are the jacket. If you think “it’s not me” or “I look silly” it will show and everyone will feel it, too. You just have to rock that pigskin like “yeah, I’m wearing a kick ass leather jacket, I’m a kick ass kind of guy, so what of it?” The attitude will make it work.
Why are you keeping the paperwork underneath the guitars inside the case? Isn't that going to possibly scratch the finish? Or, with a relic, does that not matter? There's a little box inside each case made for that stuff... and you paid how much for each of these? ..... (ridiculous stupid prices I'm sure)
ikr? I never cared about any of the inane BS...you can't see the guitar or case while playing. The same as when driving your car, you can't see the color.
As soon as Trogly said the jacket fit him I said “he is not cool enough to wear that” in my head. But then he acknowledged it, which was kind of a cool thing to do 🤔.

Have you ever run across that Billy Gibbons SG with the flying v headstock?
The true historic was introduced in late 2014 as a 2015 model. It was offered again in 2016 with very few available as 2017 models. Not sure why prototype #1 was dated as a 2017 when the model was phased out.
I have a 2016 and that’s my question
Uncasing video? :D
Trogly has the coolest channel on UA-cam
I hate relic jobs. If I buy a new guitar I want a new guitar. If I wanted an aged guitar, I'd prefer to buy an old one. But that aging on the LP prototype isn't too bad. I agree regarding that heart on the top, a little too much for me, too. I prefer the Cherry Sunburst to the Lemon burst, but if I were you, I would put that lemon burst into one of those new cases (the tweed or the one with the yellow interior).
You need to have a custom Gibson themed Harley to go with that jacket.
Those prototypes were 👍 👍
Really liked the tweed LP case too
All my guitars are relic - they are all old ....mostly my own bumps ,dings & scratches. ! That's the way I prefer them.!
10:40... sweet Lord, those stickers... shudder.
just curious nobody ever explained. Why do they call those silver burst guitars when there is no Silver anywhere in sight?
Would love a video on your Museum plans.
Really cool episode. Just wondering how many factory aged Les Paul's does Gibson run in a year?
Great vid as always!
Most assuredly you would be able too play that Billy Gibbon's guitar! And the jackets not too bad either!! I would, TRUST!!!
How’s you get Johnny Thunders to come back from the dead? Nice work, Trogs
What is that white Les Paul at the end with the explorer style headstock
Was the first official 'True Historic' an Ace Frehley, guitar, which was made in 2015?
Nice LPs! And you got a wonderful collection of invisible guitars too! Lol
10:40 R.I.P. SRV
Alpine Valley far out ✌
How do you get these great deals??
So which is closer to a real ‘59? A true historic or a 60th anniversary?
It would be really cool if Trogly could unbox and review a korina signature model like Allen Collins explorer Gibson did a reissue of, or a Joe Bonomassa V from epiphone.
Man I love those true historics. They are the closest in look & feel to a real burst imo. Much more so than any other Les Paul reissue I've played. Granted I've only ever played one real 1960 Burst. Nice guitars though. Other than a historic makeovers with a Brazilian board, the true historic is what I'd pick if I was buying a burst replica.
Uploaded 12 seconds ago! Haha
Great vid!!
I don't think I've ever seen an ES335 here. Am I missing one?
Why are you keeping the paperwork underneath the guitars inside the case? Isn't that going to possibly scratch the finish? Or, with a relic, does that not matter? There's a little box inside each case made for that stuff... and you paid how much for each of these? ..... (ridiculous stupid prices I'm sure)
looks like mick taylor’s les paul
When I realized I'm not the type of player who cares if the case matches....
ikr? I never cared about any of the inane BS...you can't see the guitar or case while playing. The same as when driving your car, you can't see the color.
Greg, where’s Trogly?
Greg’s not in the HOUSE! At least not yet.
I was gonna ask the very same question! Lol
I’d love to see a video of your personal collection. the guitars you actually keep to play and don’t want to sell.
That vid usually comes out at Xmas/newyear
No Gibbons in the demo?
🎸🎸🎸
when i hit the lottery, the southern tribute will be my first collector piece...
do lacquered necks have sticky hand problem like on cheaper pu guitars?
Michael Weber, you are awesome! Love your style and attitude, you really dig it! Love from Switzerland🎸🤘
Man that guitar player is always way to spastic for me.
Yes. Prototype 02 is probably the nicest LP I’ve seen in your channel.
As soon as Trogly said the jacket fit him I said “he is not cool enough to wear that” in my head. But then he acknowledged it, which was kind of a cool thing to do 🤔.
HOW MUCH FOR THE JACKET ?
