My favorite part (which is true, not in the same context but I can remember saying something similar to this in regards to my Cuban compatriots of a darker hue) is that it's true that Cubans will think/talk this way. Joe says it perfectly, like he's telling him the sky is blue. It's funny because it's true.
After viewing episode 9, knowing it was in the late 1970’s, it seems the production staff broached a sensitive racial issue in a gingerly step by step process to clear stereotypes bringing about an outcome with a social fabric message that we have more in common that what separates us. With that said, the scripted acting of Adela and Antonio left me with a disturbing reminder that some persons' behavior is a result of prejudice.
david lomeli ...TE EQUIBOCAS SENOR DAVID LOMELL ESTAS MUY EQUIBOCADO. NO TODO LOS CUBANOS NO SOMOS RASISTA.MI MEJOR AMIGA ES AZUL NO NEGRA ES UN NEGRO MUY OSCURO Y YO LA QUIERO MUCHO. Y ES AMERICANA. Y A MIS TRES HIJOS LOS ENSENE NO SER RACISTA. Y QUE VIVA MI PAIS.🇨🇺🇺🇸
Not so much racist as it was just highlighting how closed-minded both sides were. It also offered ways to look beyond it, especially in the scene where the "computer friend" saw likenesses in the Pena house.
Closed minded is a nice way to put it, both sides were racist and yes the last character played the "unification" card but yo soy Cubana, so I know the beauty, the regular and the ugly side of some of my fellow countryside people.
We need more people like Angelito!!! Teaching everyone how to get along!!!!
There are people like him out there
@panzerwaffen2873 True, just hard to find, but not impossible!
This is a very funny episode! I watched it when I was nine years old in Hialeah on channel 23 at 5 p.m. on Saturday afternoons. great memories.
Now, all these actors are old. Back when they were young people in the late 70s.
Mi programa preferido siempre me gusto, pues me divierte mucho y me hace reír,

Yup older people of our generation were definitely this racist. Thank goodness we are evolving and changing.
It is not so true, in Cuba nothing has changed there is much more racism than in all Europe together, it is a shame but it is also very real..
Mi familia es cubana y la realidad es que son medios racistas lol
Siempre ha habido racismo en cuba ... Y aquí en usa siguen con la misma mentalidad

Wow I am just realising how racist this episode is
