I am the original owner from Sarasota Florida and it cracks me up every time I hear or read the story that it was an eyesore LOL. The story I I told Randy when he came to pick it up was a little different, but what the hell it was pretty ugly when I owned it. I'm glad to see how beautiful it is now.

Why didn't GM build them? Because the front fenders rose so high, the driver couldn't see over them ., among other visibility issues.
Those fenders are Bill Mitchell's homage to the horse blinder!

Rick does drive his Mako Shark. How anyone can detail a road car to this point is beyond me!
This car has never been on a trailer since I rebuilt it ! I build them to drive ....................... not trailer !!!
