Hi Bex, I have made myself a superb quilt, thanks to you. I saw a video where you altered a standard sleeping bag and made it into a quilt. Well, I just grabbed my poncho liner. I layed the liner on the floor, folded it along its length and sewed the last few feet along making side seam (toe end). I then rolled the tube so that the side seam was now in the centre of the tube (if I got into the tube the seam would be central between my legs). I then sewed across the end of the tube making a perfect 'footbox'. Thank for the idea.
Nice comparison Bex, thanks for sharing. I managed to pick up a couple of PLCEs in DPM. one Long one Short. Using the Short Back like a Day Sack with the side pockets off. Must be something wrong with me, kind of like it. lol Atb, from StLouis MO.
Great video bex👍 Have you any ideas how to make the front of the N I pack compatible for pouch/pouches without the need for sewing.thanks. Apologies if you have done a video on this before. All the best.
Thanks BEX a lot for the very detailed description and demonstration of backpacks, I appreciate those details. I'm considering getting an MTP bergen, I have two in DPM and I really like them, but the weight is a bit heavier :-/ I wanted to ask, are the newer MTP bergens lighter than the older ones? Thanks and sending greetings from the Czech Republic.
ref; plce bergen .... what about removing and replacing the snow collar with a cordura extension? OR putting a dart down the front making the bergen wider ... think of the extra capacity, a few inches extra width or depth wouldnt be to noticeable but could be really handy.
My younger brother is infantry, he hates the virtus rucksack, as do many others he works with, in the field it doesnt perform aswel when taking a hammering, which is why his virtus is left in the front room and uses his mtp plce.
I also like berghaus, own a Vulcan but wish I had the crusader which is better even with the older back system of the ribs (Personal choice again). Also own a SAS/Para Bergen more for memory of issue before plce
always value your views with regards to kit, all kit is not the same, and everyone are not the same with regards to fit / comfort / usability / etc. Try it, don't like it? modify or try something else? keep up the good work sir bex

I've just got the Lowe Alpine Saracen. It's perfect for what I do, take too much stuff lol.
