(LRYICS, TRANSLATION & VIDEO) A gem from Jagjit Singh immortal ghazals written by Majaz Lakhnawi. Jagjit ji's style and melody was a departure from the prevalent style of ghazal rendition, which was heavily based on classical and semi-classical Indian music. Compared to his earlier ghazals (sung during 70s and 80s) his later ghazals have acquired a more soulful and poignant demeanor. Jagjit Singh is accredited with bringing the ghazal genre, which was previously restricted to the elite classes, to the masses.
This Ghazal depicts the feelings of a person who met his Love after a long separation. ......She was in deep love with him, but he ignored her and spoiled his youth playing and flirting with other girls........

चमन-ए-दहेर में रूह-ए-चमन आ राई हो

बिनते मेहताब हो गर्दू से उतर आयी हो
मुझसे मिलने में अंदेशा-ए-रुश्वाई है

This ghazal reminds me my husband's love. he always said "kyu tm mjhy itni dair bad mili kash tm meri pehli or akhri muhabbat hoti"

It's not a Ghazal. It's called a nazm in urdu poetry.
A nazm is just like a poem in other languages. A long poem based on one topic.
A Ghazal is a collection of 2 line couplets called sher.. where each of the 2 line couplets are independent and are self sufficient to display some meaning.
