But I Know That Cajun and LASUCA are Both Grinding Now.
@@AerialAg I LOVE This Cajun Zydeco Music soundtrack In this Video its Awesome but I'd Like it More if The music wasn't interrupted by the Sounds Of The Sugar mill because I just LOVE CAJUN Zydeco Music During The Louisiana Sugarcane Grinding season .
@@AerialAg I was told That HMC Farms Hauls Their Sugarcane to the M.A Patout Mill in Jeanerette and I think HMC Also trucks cane to Cajun and LASUCA If I'M Not Mistaken
@@AerialAg the LASUCA sugar mill in St Martinville has started the 2020 Louisiana Sugarcane Grinding today after I drove past I saw a few trailers and carts parked in the cane yard and LASUCA has installed a BRAND NEW AUTOMATIC VACUMMN PAN which is HUGE and they are running on Natural Gas since they don't have any BAGASSE to burn .
@@gabrielbeyt6267 Well I was kinda getting the urge to go fly tomorrow but the rain chance has been increased so I'll probably wait. One of the farms I go to all the time has a brand new Deere harvester, so I'll probably go see them opening day which is the 29th.
Thank you. Most of the harvest is done by combine harvesters nowadays but there are some farms that still use the wholestalk method. Planting is also primarily done using wholestalk equipment. To answer your question, yes I have seen a few 1800's still being used.
Vernon Demaree yes they are, that model has definitely stood the test of time. Most farms around here seem to use the larger 180 degree swing models though.

Why are all the loaded trailers just waiting there????
I'm guessing that they use those to feed the mill overnight. Not 100% sure though. Maybe someone who knows will chime in.
