Hello, I'm so jealous of this wonderful life on the water! In Belgium, there are too many rules and difficulties for individuals who want to live on the water! It is a shame and hope to ever be able to live like this with my family! Greetings from Belgium!
Same sentiments from the states, although their aren’t to many canals the thought of living in a similar boat on the Potomac river here in Virginia would be a blessing. As you say.. too many silly rules created to stop people that abuse the environment but effectively limit everyone !
ratrod diesels Sorry? What was that? I can’t hear you over the noise?! 😉 Seriously I think that one is a little noisy. And I’d move the exhaust so it’s not blowing back into my face too.
Pulled into a rest area in Germany and there was a cavalcade of large Honda cruiser motorcycles. When they decided to leave there was just a pure coming from the engines. Until one chap played a tape of an old Lister starting up, with the chuck a chuck which got quicker. Well we all fell about laughing, well done that guy.
I've been on those canals in early90s, it's beautiful and you can fish back then only thing is you have to put the fish back in the water, no fun then!
7:15 the sound of that engine is like a music.rave music that is... Seriously, i have always wondered if a single cylinder diesel engine could power that sort of water craft.it all seemed pretty strong enough to do so.
Really interesting, I can honestly say I really love the histrionic working boats. I love the sound of the engine and the history. Any advice when looking for old narrowboat to restore. Thanks Lee
So would he be pissed if I decided to join him, like buy a boat and trade like him cos it sounds like a decent busnins I'm in the Midlands / South East
RIP Rick. You were a wonderful person who will be missed by many.
Hi Alan, thanks for pointing me to this video today - a fascinating insight! Great to meet you and chat too.

J Arguez why wouldn't it? A single horse used to pull them- a single cylinder diesel produces more than enough power!
Rick now sadly passed away. Much missed.
If anyone can identify the song at 08:04, I'd be eternally grateful!

Hi Lee thanks for your comment. Unfortunately I'm not an expert at buying boats.
@@wijgerden ok thanks
EXCELLENT
Why the hoop on top of the engine exhaust?
Just wondering why you where towing the 2nd boat? Did it have an engine that you could have used in the locks to make things easier?
Not sure how I navigated from American politics to here, but I’m really glad I did. Great for woke detox.
Luv it. Greeeaaat
This is great, but the idea roses and castles came to boats from Romany gypsies being the crew is one that lacks evidence.
Builders of the Titanic.
