    Duoetto MK2 is a 12vDC / 240vAC 10lt hot water system.
    The 12vDC heating element is 300Watts.
    In this Video we look at how long it takes to get Hot in 1 hour, Just using the 12v DC 300Watt side of the unit.
    In the next video. We leave the DC side of the unit on all night Just to see how much power it takes out of the batteries.
    The result is very surprising.

    Heated the water 30 c in one hour it’s pretty good and as you said it’s not a problem while you driving. Will be interesting to see how much power it takes to maintain the temp . Hope you and sigi are doing well 👍🍻

      hello my friend. Yes this little HWS is shaping up pretty good. Just dropped the trailer of at the engineering workshop to get all the covers made. I think you will be very impressed with the next video results. I know i was.🙃👍

      Yes it's a nice unit. Even after all my testing. It still has to pass the off road and longevity testing. Time will tell if it's an overpriced bit of Junk or a HWS worth the $$$

    Great video, thanks for taking the trouble, just about to install one of these in a caravan

      Your welcome. Those Videos on the Duoetto MK2 were not sponsored at all. I paid for the unit and wile installing it I decided to run all the tests. So I would know how much power the unit used to heat up and to stay hot overnight. I have not finished the longevity tests yet. If my testing help you and others like you then I am happy. 😉 👍

    Mate really appreciate this video. I have 110amp lithium battery and wasn’t sure how much realistically it would use to get up to temp. Now just unsure wether to get the 6L or go the 10.

      Hello. OK if i was you i would get the 10lt unit. Why you might ask ? ok if my Sigi (wife) has a quick shower (wet down soap up and soap off) then it is still just warm enough for me. However if she wants to shampoo her hair, then it takes longer to wash all that shampoo out. I then have to wait for it to heat up again. 6L unit would be ok for filling the sink and washing the dishes , Remember as you use the hot water out of the unit it has cold water coming into the unit. So it can cool down on you. Its still a lot better then the camping gas units you see some people have. We get the water in the unit to 65c this kills all the bug that may be in the unit and keeps the water hotter longer, as your using a less hot water out of the unit at the mixer = Hot water lasts a lot longer. We found the unit works great and was well worth the price and the time it took to install it. I have 2x 100ah lithium Solar king batteries and we have not ran out of power yet. Will be going camping again in a few weeks and will be doing more videos then.
      Hope you found this information helpful,

      @michaelbrownlee9497 For winter camping, we have a 230vac electric blanker in the rooftop tent. So not only do we have a hot shower, we also climb into a toasty warm bed. :face-red-heart-shape:

    It's ok in you garage won't be so good out in the bush you're end up with a flat battery

    • @JustinCaseSolarPower
      @JustinCaseSolarPower  Рік тому +2

      The unit works great in the bush sir. This Video is 11 months old and the unit has not only been well tested in the carport, Its been on many bush camping trips. Last trip we left the unit on 24/7 and we had no problems with power. Its all about building the solar system for the loads required. That means not only having the battery capacity but also the solar to charge them up again. We have never had a Flat batteries yet. Lithium batteries are a real game changer to camping and off grid living.

      @JustinCaseSolarPower  8 місяців тому

      that solar panel got distroyed when we stoped at a caraven park by a rock from a lawnmower on the last trip, it's now been replaced with another brand. Sorry i don't remember its name.

    Not understanding what you mean by 26amps ‘per hour’. Amps is a measure of current drawn -time doesn’t come into it whatsoever, unless you’re meaning amp-hours which reflects how much Energy (which should really be expressed in watts-hours) was used over a period of time.

    • @JustinCaseSolarPower
      @JustinCaseSolarPower  5 місяців тому

      26 to 27 amps an hour is what they use. AMPS x VOLTS = Watts. You understand basic maths. Let's see how you go.
      26 amps x 12.7 volts = ??? Watts, AMP's and Watts are both a measurement of power over time. So if it takes 2hr to get hot. That is 26 amps an hr x 2. when hot, then you just need to work out its intermittent power use. That also should be demonstrated in an overnight test video.
      I don't sell these, I just paid for one and installed it into our off-road trailer. Then made a very comprehensive series of testing and insulation videos. That you can watch or not. I don't really care.

    That’s not too bad for 12V to heat up 10 L of waterIn 1 hour

    • @JustinCaseSolarPower
      @JustinCaseSolarPower  2 роки тому

      Luke my good friend 😄 Hope all is well. Wait and see how much power it used keeping it at 65c overnight. It has surpassed all my expectations so fare. Just has to pass 2 more tests. The off road and longevity tests.

    That water should not be warmer than what your hands can handle That will safe a lot of problems

      Its a 10lt tank. you want the water as hot as it can get. then add cold water at the other end. Doing it that way should make it so Sigi and I can both have a quick shower. If you want a tempering valve on it you do it at at the shower Not at the sink. Thankfully there are not regulations (baby sitter laws) on camper trailers. After all we are adults and know how to use a flick mixer tap..

    Does the switch gets hot when DC is switch on? I have a 30A switch and it’s getting a bit hot.

    • @JustinCaseSolarPower
      @JustinCaseSolarPower  8 місяців тому +1

      No, because it's just switching a relay that is built into the unit.
