Baby Annika's adventures in a Himachali village - my Finnish Indian family
Вставка
- Опубліковано 8 жов 2022
- My mom had visited us from Finland in June and we spent the summer in the hills of Himachal to escape the Indian heat. Visiting rural India was on my mom's bucket list and so we found a perfect village for us in the Himalayas - Laida. It was an ideal getaway for the whole family. One morning we decided to take Annika with us on our daily hikes and we visited another neighbouring village Chanon. On our way, we had many adventures and met many animals. We got to explore the local village life and learnt something about building a house in the hills - something I've been dreaming of. I hope you enjoy our little family adventure from a day in our lives in a small village in Himachal :)

The way Anika ran after another kid of her age was so cute….and how the other kid responded after a bit hesitation was very nice too……it shows that background, culture, or ethnicity does not matter for kids……
I agree, those kinds of boundaries, limitations or prejudices kids only learn from adults. But the childlike innocence and kindness is heartening to watch 🥰
You two are raising Annika a well-rounded child - I am impressed. At a young age, she's starting to develop good attitude and behavior towards everything she bumped into. She picks up things so quick - very smart indeed! There's a book I've read in the past that said, " a child borne into parents of different race will grow smarter than to parents with same race". We'll experiment on Annika if that theory proves true.
Very well said.. that's a proven fact
@@chaitanyakulkarni8595 Thanks for your validation.
Well I would very much hope she grows into a much smarter being than us 😊 that’s our goal!
@@loriechilson925 it is proven in many parts of the world where there are mixed cultures. You are exposed to diversed lifestyles, culture, food, education, appreciate people everywhere making yourself fit in the world where people are people everywhere you go. It builds your knowledge and experience intellectually. It's a great thing to belong to the world and be part of people in it wherever you go ❤️to live in peace and share the love for a better world.
Annika hiding behind the board was the best way kids think of hiding themselves while playing hide and seek or when they don't want anyone to find them😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Annika could play hide and seek all day long if you ask her! 😊
I have made a consious effort to not watch UA-cam channels that showcase their small children and basically monetize every single moment of their lives. And I'm so happy yours is not one of them and it's all due to your efforts of using your videos as a medium of storytelling.
The adventures of Annika. That's the central theme of most of your videos. You capture and showcase precious and private moments from you life in such a way that rather than the experience feeling intrusive and unnecessary, it makes the viewer feel privileged to witness it. Oh to be able to see the world in the eyes of a toddler! Though I've left those years far behind, Annika's innocent perusal of the world around her and the way you capture the childish wonder on her face everytime she encounters something interesting, fills me with joy.
As stated before, you are a master storyteller Johanna. Even during the mundane, you manage to infuse beauty. I'm so glad I found your channel. I know these videos are backdated so I hope you guys are well and happy. Eagerly looking forward to what comes next in the adventures of Annika.
Thank you so much Archana 🙏❤️ we do also try to make sure that we dont share anything too private when it comes to little Annika and we never make her perform for the camera! And when she doesnt want to be filmed or take photos, then we wont.
I try to always have a good, meaningful reason, maybe a life lesson, to share something. I know to some others it might seem like i share too much, but i’m happy to know you see what i’m trying to do and that still some moments are just for us ❤
I couldn't agree more
Annika really wanted to save that baby bird ... She has so much mercy for animals :)) I love it
Hahaha, with such emphasis Annika calls the cow to come 🤣...and turning back to Vinod for reinforcement 😄
18:40 Simply profound. Annuka will be proud someday.
The way she was calling the calf and when she interacted with that baby, Johanna this video was too wholesome 🥰❤.
Annika calling the calf n running after the kid was so cute. Her little interactions towards new things is really fun to watch with the pleasant views of HP. 💞
I really love the way Annika was hiding behind the white board with only her head being seen. 🤣🤣🤣. When she was found she ran out like saying, "I was just behind here". I went back just to watch that part again and again. How cute 💕🥰 she can be.
Yes that’s exactly what she’s saying! ”Silly momma cant you see i was hiding right here!” 😍😅
Wish grandma speedy recovery of her injured leg and continue with the exploration. 💖❤️❤️❤️
Lovely bonding between father , mother and daughter .
Annika is like a showstopper ❤ her presence dilutes everything 😊😘
It was really an adventurous day for Annika 😆😆 meeting new people, new animals, eating new things...it's so marvellous how her little world is expanding...and the important thing is that she is equally passionate towards the humans aa well as animals...
I really appreciate your parenting skills😊😊😊
Thank you so much Sree! 🙏😊 it’s really great to watch her experiencing and learning so many new things every day 🥰
It's your parenting skills I'm so proud of. I am not a professional at anything but I know a great Mother and Father when I see them. I also love you that your starting to take time for yourself along with your husband. That's exactly how it should be. ☺️
A wonderful laid back Himalayan village. Annika is so blessed to have a papa and mama like you guys who love and sense nature😍
Arrr,Annika trying to make friends . She's very sociable and caring towards animals, bless her . ❤
I had this smile on my face while watching this video.. so much beauty in such simple moments... Treks are all about exploring, pausing to feel the space and not to just get over with it..
And yes letting Annika know not all fruits are mangoes, some can be apples!
And plums too! 😅
In order to protect the indegenious tribes and communities it is almost impossible to buy land in Himachal
Yes we’re aware and will be considering other routes to have a place in himachal in the future 😊
Best wishes for little princess anika
17:19 Just the way my mom calls me for dinner😂🤣😍
Annika's so empathetic ❤️ good parenting guys
Annika ate all the berries!! None for grand ma 🤪
Annika usually shares and tries to feed everyone, but… i guess the berries were too yummy 😅
Nature is a tool to get children to experience not just the wider wold but themselves......Good job Annika...
I am tired from all that trekking, she is absolutely friendly with all creatures,
nice vlog super star annika 😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😃😃😃
Annika is a very friendly child. She seems to have enjoyed the outing.
Anima is fun.she is very brave and lots of clarity in her speech. It is a great parenting that you are showing here nature and staying amidst of rustic and pure nature. Great
Johanna what a Majical Heaven Himajali Annikka nxt level Soooo friendly!!! 🙏🇺🇸
Hello Johanna Vinod and baby Annika 👋🫂❤️wow what a view from the house 🏠 Annika is very interesting with the animals 😮so beautiful 👧🏻🌻that’s so beautiful 🫂👧🏻
Another day well spent in the lap of nature 💚🌲
I like your story telling...and watching your vlog we are in mashobra for a vacation 😊
Thank you and God bless Annika
one of the best blog so far since Annika has been part of this complete video, she is very adorable and special child. My Namaste
I have never been in HP. Through your vlogs I am touring beautiful Himachal. Thank you.
Love to watch Aanika for hours together, very friendly with everyone and enjoy each and every moment . Lovely family vacation time ❤️
Happy to hear you enjoyed Neera 🙏❤️
😘😀 love you Annika baby where is your doggy friend 🐕🐶
I hope ur dream is full fill for home in hills. Himalyan.
little Annika at her hiking best and seems to enjoy every bit of it. Children can't distinguish between rich and poor, religion etc. They are an ideal world itself. Carry on little Annika as much as you can with your innocence, soon the world will engulf you with all its prejudices.
Yet another emotional, scenic and beautiful video Johanna 🥰 i watch these at night ....they are so calming ...can't wait to explore some more places through your channel....Annika is a sweetheart and is growing fast...what a compassionate child you and Vinod raised 🙌
We’ve been travelling surprisingly much this year, so travel videos are nowhere near the end 😄🙏
I am from Himachal but I had never visited these beautiful places. Simply Amazing vlog. I must say aniqa like to stay in nature.
One can use many wonderful adjectives for this video… but the one i want to use is “Satisfying”. 😊
beautiful ❤️❤️❤️ pictures kuldeep Khatkar form jind haryana
❤Totally enchanting video ! Precious Annika with the bird and other animals, calling 'come'.
Nice outing !beautiful nature.
Happy to hear you enjoyed 🙏❤️
Lovely watching you guys ❤️🫂👋🏠
Johannaji thanks for this beautiful VDO. I enjoyed every single minute of it. Great job! Vinod"s formidable presence in the VDO is appriated. Annikas concern for the baby bird was very touching. Thanks again for this beautiful VDO. With love from Pune. God bless U and your family.
My greatest pride is seeing Annika having developed so much empathy already at such a young age 🥰
Finland to another lonely place. What a surprise. I love the hustle and bustle of big cities. The noise and the variety of people and foods
Amazing parenting! That's how you do it! Nurturing a child's natural curiosity instead of telling them "NO" for most things in life. LOL. We must touch and feel nature when we are able to. Baby Annika will turn out to be a fantastic human being with such a great start. Jai Ho! Also, it's so cute how Annika runs after that child she just met. Hahaha. The smile when she eats blueberries was priceless! 🙏🕉
We do of course tell her no quite often too, if she most likely would hurt herself or others. But otherwise, why not let her try and sometimes fail too - especially when it's harmless! :)
I love watching you interact with the locals! But oh my goodness, those hillsides and slopes give me anxiety...
The curiosity kid
Hiking with annika was a good idea...she did not miss u nor you miss her..and imagine carrying daddy dear on her back and not getting tired🤪...and Nani dear must be quite happy just enjoying the quite and solitudeness of the place...just loved this video..even I felt concerned for the little 🐤 birdie..hope it's mother came looking for it😌
Annika has one strong back and shoulders to take all Daddy’s weight, phewww even i cant do it! 😮💨 she just loves walking about and dragging Daddy everywhere with her 😊
This is another amazing and beautiful vlog which has closely touched the village life with Annika. Thanks for your great love to our village Laida.
Thank you so much Joginder-ji and hope the new house is soon ready for visits! 🙏
@@JohannaNorth Yes the new house is fully ready for operation.Would send the picture separately.
Loved it god i also want daughter like annika
What a great blog! Always love to see the humble and kind women of himalayas with their green/pink head scarves and sickle. Made me nostalgic.
What a wonderful video, thoroughly enjoyed, in today's vlog main character played by little cute angel Annika, your upbringing to Annika is so amazed, words are falling short to explain how fast she is growing & grooming, talk to cute bird and small cow was very funny, I couldn't control on my laugh, great job Lovely family, keep it up, God bless you all happiness and prosperity 👍🌹
Thanks a lot 🙏❤️ though i’m sure that we’ve also been a little lucky with Annika who is naturally curious and fast learner! 😊
5:45 ❤wow that lizard is a Bearded Dragon and we have one for a pet. We love him so much. He is wrapped up in a soft blanket in my arms sleeping right now actually. ❤
Thanks for sharing, good to know which lizard it was so we can share with Annika in the future! 🙏
Thank-you for transporting us to another world along with Annika.lmparting valuable lessions of life to her without being over protective
This outing seemed very exhausting and difficult and was scared for you guys specially when you all went inside the house under construction!
But Annika made it all so pleasant. Her love and concerns towards every animal and friendliness for every one passing by was so admirable it just melted my heart. I see you guys living there on your retirement!… go for it😉
❤️🥰
It wasn’t that bad! The difficult part was getting OUT of the house as you probably saw 😂 i hit my head so hard it started bleeding. And since Vinod was mostly carrying Annika, for me it was just a short little afternoon stroll and memorable moments watching Annika exploring the world 🥹❤️
@@JohannaNorth oh no!.. you were bleeding? So sorry 😢 and you continued with videotape! Wow! You are brave and strong and amazing parents.❤️🥰
Such precious moments..Someday I hope that I could also go trekking with my children and better half in remote villages of himalayas...
Calming... 💛

What a beautiful day for you all. Plenty of exercise and such amazing views. I think Annika, especially, enjoyed meeting the animals on the way and of course eating all those lovely berries. So nice for her to enjoy nature and the out doors from such an early age. Thank you so much for another lovely vlog. 🌷
Annika only ever loves being outdoors and exploring the natural wonders 😍
Annika is so adorable and she is going to grow up to be a beautiful person. One who is kind and considerate to everyone around her. ❤️
I love watching your beautiful adventures through Annika's eyes. Annika is such a sweet, sensitive, loving and friendly little girl. How she responds to animals and people is exceptional. She is a joy to watch. Mummi I hope you feel better soon! ❤❤❤❤
Her joy and love for animals knows no bounds! Quite marvellous, especially considering how i’m actually quite afraid of many animals myself, but maybe i do a decent job at hiding it 😅❤
You are really fortunate to be able to travel so much, good luck to annika
Nice blog I salute you. For this blog this is incredible india. And iam proud indian.
I really like your vedios so soothing , wish you very good life !
Teaching Annika? Seeing through the eyes of a child is more like learning or relearning from them ......
That was a tough decision leaving the bird there. I have been in a similar situation before . I once came across pigeon hatchlings just a few days old and tried to build a protective cover around them. But nature being what it is there are lots of predators and the next morning I noticed a crow attacking and making away with the hatchlings. Some things are just not in our control, however hard we try.
One other thing that strikes me is the amount of construction activity, even in remote villages. I have heard many people from these areas who say that there has been tremendous deforestation due to development activity.
It's also very heartening to see the old way of life still very much alive here- people helping each other out in the case of death, sickness etc. In the big cities we wouldn't know if someone died next door.
There’s definitely tons of construction going on at least in this region. Hopefully it’s in accordance what the locals want and what’s best for them! But it’s going the get much more busy and crowded here in the next 5 years so now is a great time to visit and enjoy the still quite pristine nature and silence! 🥰
this is the bestes vlog i ever seen on youtube.....congtrets..
JUST beautiful and brilliant
Today I was really feeling low, not feeling so well and energetic, but after watching this video I really feeling refreshed, Annika's sweet activities and Himachal's beautiful scenic view, it's really enjoying, black dog, goat, the baby bird, everything was very sweet. Annika's talking and hide and seek game was very impressive, a lovely video again ❤️
Hope today you’re feeling better the whole day 🙏❤️
@@JohannaNorth yes, it's true ❤️
Good to see . your exploring Himachali Villages..Enjoy
What an adventure.....liked the vlog
Lovely video , really. You are very bold parents to have taken your child for hiking. It was really great to see how you three enjoyed.

This is the real and cool world . Anika is lucky to have a glimpse of it. Lovely and nice vlog . Anika is exploring the world.
very nice this is a great 👍👍 💐🌹
We also used to eat these barrries like annika.
They’re soooo yummy!
Watching Annika is so much fun. She is such a sweet baby girl 😍😍
Beautiful vlog love watching u guys ❤
Wow! What an amazing day, I was feeling every step myself. Was actually getting hungry too.
Annika ❤️❤️ this beautiful little soul. Her voice is the cutest, can't wait until she really is going to have long conversations with you two. Where most parents take children to Zoo's Annika is so lucky she is seeing the animals free and in their element ☺️
Oh she has hit that conversation phase by now and just keeps babble babble babbling at home all the time 😅 might share a short video later this week 😊
Ahhhhh can't wait to watch 😀 will see it when I'm in the uk. After 3 years of being in India i am finally going home...... ❤️
Enjoy home! 🙏❤️
@@JohannaNorth thanku dear ❤️
Hi Johanna, it was a nice, beautiful walk with curious and brave Annika, she really loves to explore things. she felt sorry for the baby bird and it was funny to see when Annika rushed to the other baby for a friendship, yes she really is a very friendly child. Thanks for sharing this cozy video. 🙏🙏🙏🙏💓💓💓💓
Your daughter is so cute❤️
Superb vlog 💕
Loved this series from Himachal. Motivating me to pack my stuff, get on the bike and live here for few weeks and work from this location. Just one question about electricity and internet connectivity. Like how is it? Like I have heard about electricity issues in villages.
Wi-Fi and mobile connections both worked very well for us, also no issues with electricity during our stay 😊 the village isn’t super remote or very high on the hills, so that probably helps! Only about a 40min drive from a big town
U deserve a 👍.
I enjoy nature with u
I really enjoyed this blog soon vinod is going to find it hard to carry baby anikha she growing so fast thank you for sharing I can see you are a real nature lover and your baby is the same all the best thank you lots of love madu South Africa
Vinod needs all the exercise he can get from carrying Annika 🤪 but yes, she’s getting so big now!
That wooden lodge overlooking that big long drop would make a perfect setting for an Agatha Christie novel.... You know where they find the body of the poor husband at the bottom of the ravine?.... And everybody asks...Did he jump or was he pushed?
If you ask me, the poor clumsy chap just tripped in his own feet! 🥸
@@JohannaNorth exactly...after hitting his head on the low beam, tripping on his feet and sailing head first into the abyss..😄
@@anand-menon that house looked a bit rickety to me...that balcony looked dangerously low anybody can just trip over to the ravines below...dont know how people live in those houses on the slopes..what if there are landslides ...
Nice vlog
I've been so preoccupied that I'm late on this one Johanna. But what a spectacular little hike! So good for Annika to experience the life of the village. I worry about Vinod slipping on the unstable trails with carrying such a precious cargo. Maybe a pair of hiking boots would be a nice birthday gift J. 😁. ❤
Hey I'll definitely put that on my list of gift ideas since Vinod mostly appreciates practical gifts only, or better yet no gifts at all! :'D Maybe next time we visit Finland. The selection there is much better :)
@@JohannaNorth I have been meaning to ask what the acoustic instrument is playing at the end of your recent videos? Very pleasant.
💕
Really nice
Nice Vlog 👌🏼🙌🏼🙏🏻🤲🏼❤️
Gorgeous vlog. I arrived back in the uk yesterday and just had the chance to watch your vidoe now. I don't feel like heading back to India dear so i do regret not going to Tirthan. Ohhhhhh berry picking and animals and meeting local people ❤️ Hope your mums leg is ok and she enjoyed some down time high up in the Himalayas. Alot of people said i shud have gone to Manali, kasol etc but nooooo I'm definitely one for the quieter more authentic places in the Himalayas. I loved my time in Bir Billing. Not sure why i don't wanna return to India. I guess i wanna travel Europe now and vlog about Europe 🕉️❤️🕉️
Hope you're enjoying being back home! And sometimes it's good to take a longer break from India. It can be very overwhelming and exhausting, so do enjoy new experiences if you want to! :)
@@JohannaNorth thanku darling. Actually.... I dont think i will be going back to India. I was there for 3 consecutive years Inc the covid time so i guess I'm done now. As lovely as india can be....... I also found it difficult, esp as a solo female traveller. But i hope your experience there is a positive one. I definitely acknowledge how difficult it must also be for you as well.
