    I met Henry , in 2000. I could go the way of saying "he's an asshole..." too, but I don't think that's it. I like what JamesTKirkCobain up above said. I think that's part of it. Henry has said it a million tmes in the past, he has no taste for fan adulation and I say kudos to him. He is a man not ruled by pretense. He means what he says and says what he means. You gotta remember, too, that Henry wasn’t brought up from an affluent background. Guy worked his entire adult life in dead-end service industry jobs. He didn’t have the luxury of music producer family members or wealthy parents who could keep throwing money at his passion products until they finally caught fire. Even now that he can safely retire financially solvent for the rest of his life, he still makes quips about how often he puts himself out for speaking events, film roles, etc. because a paycheck is a paycheck.
      I think a lot of that work ethic he puts out, not just in the industry but in his daily life (staying fit, well-read, etc.) spawns from the realization that someone in his position only has to do just enough wrong to fall from grace. You have to stay sharp and relevant because if you leave yourself out to rust then that’s that.

      James Miller idk maybe it does make sense if you have a little knowledge. Or maybe I'm just being crazy. Or maybe intj means introverted intuitive thinking and judging. Idk, a quick google search could answer that for you really quick. But I guess you want all your answers spoon fed from me. Well, I can't feed you forever and gift wrap everything I say so that its effortless for you to understand, so learn to find out simple things on your own. Google is great for that. Is that coherent enough for you?

      Young people today would call 95% of the musicians of the 90's "edgelords". It's a term made up by a generation that is completely generic and watered down, who have no edge, no fire, no passion for anything. It's a completely alien concept for someone like me....young people with no energy. Just cool guy posturing or something.

    Henry has changed a lot since then. All the things he said he hated about people, he has saddly become. In this 1995 interview we see a real HONEST Henry. Today Henry is on talk shows with his FAKE SMILE and FAKE LAUGH and acting interested in what people have to say, when we know he's not really interested. Did he sell out? Yes, in around 2006. He's also probably lost about 50-60 pounds.

      Danimal300zx he has said in his spoken word prefomence that he was a cynic back then because of some bad shit. now he done realized the cynicism is just a defense for weak ppl. so that aint about sellin out, its just a growth in character.

    • @gjh400
      @gjh400 9 років тому +4

      Danimal300zx agreed, COMPLETE PHONY. -- dude's all-time full of shit. Now he's all about gays and women's rights, or whatever his idiotic liberal friends tell him to be into, punk-bitch style not punk rock style. I've been to a bunch of black flag shows back in the day -- uh, wasn't exactly welcoming for woman or gays, wonder why?

    Henry is a very angry and sad person. His motivation it to prove everybody wrong including his parents. He doesn't want anyone to get close to him because his own parents let him down. He never felt loved by them because he felt unwanted. Why would you believe in some strangers love even if you're own parents didnt show you that affection you so desperately wanted? He keeps his self busy to fight the depression and loneliness he feels all the time. He doesn't know it but he needs to find the Lord. That's what is missing in most of our lives. No amount of money, fortune, or fame will ever fill that void. It's one thing to just go to church out of habit but when you actually learn to form a relationship with our Creator then everything else is revealed. Henry is a man searching for something he hasn't found yet. He's done all these great things by sheer motivation from feeling like a failure as a kid, just think how much more he could do if God got ahold of him.
