*PART 2 WILL BE GOING LIVE TOMORROW AS WILL THE BLOG POST!* And my people... we have reached over 9,000 Subscribers, so we need to celebrate!! Pat yourself on the back, you wonderful creature of magical goodness! 💜💖✨
Some of these tips will definitely come in handy when I clean my tail in the future. Not all of them since it won't be 100% silicone, but at least for the outside & the drainage in the fluke.
Yaaayy! I'm happy to hear it'll be helpful for you! ♥ You're right though, yours will be a bit different! I'm sure you'll find your own tail-cleaning groove as you go. 😊
Sure thing! Yes, it is a lot of work for sure! A lot of people think we just "sit still and look pretty," but what they don't see is the work that goes into out makeup/outfits, the pain of holding poses while basically wearing 20 lbs ankle weights, the work that goes into running a business and all that goes into post-event tail care and maintenance. 😅 We are busy bees! But then again, I suppose everyone is in their own way. ♥ Thanks for watching, Phoebe!
I honestly can't say... I have never owned a hybrid tail. I would contact the maker of your tail directly for the best information on keeping it clean 💜
You have to love your silicone tail almost as much as a pet, because it just needs that much attention. If the price tag weren't the reason i don't get a silicone tail this might be it instead.
Hahaha! It is kind of like that! That's a great way of putting it! 😅 Well, although it does take time, the process becomes quite relaxing once you get used to it. My tail is very special to me as well, since owning it has helped me to grow a TON in the past few years. I owe a lot to my tail, so to speak, so the cleaning is kind of a way of saying "thank you," I suppose! But I am a weirdo! 😆😂 I totally understand what you mean by that, however. It was a turn-off for me at first too! Hahaha!
Hey there! Thanks for the tip! 😊 The funny thing is that I actually just fixed it with that same technique last week. I was getting ready to edit the video tutorial for it today, actually. Talk about ironic! 😆 Thank you, dear! ♥♥♥
That's awesome!!! I'll be getting my silicone and top in the next two weeks! it's also from mernation so i've been watching your videos and generally researching tips and techniques on how to care and maintain it ^.^ you've been super helpful! :D
Thanks! Ohhh!!! That's so exiting!!!! 💜💜💜 What fluke did you decide to go with!?!? Are you going to post an unboxing video? I'd love to see your tail!! ♥♥♥ Awww! I'm so glad the videos have been helpful!
The Magic Crafter :P I was in between the Athena or the genesis but I went with the genesis. Yes I’ll be doing an unboxing on my channel 😊 and a first silicone swim video. Thank you so much for all the tips ❤️
Good question! I've honestly never heard of a vinegar allergy before! Yikes! :C I would message Smooth-On to ask them of other ways to disinfect their dragon skin silicone pieces. AND how else to neutralize chlorine. I wish I had a better answer than that! For tail storage, I dry my tail out really well and keep it in a safe, dry location. I keep my tail covered with a blanket (to keep dust out) and make sure to put the plastic supports in my monofin foot pockets. I do not store it with the heel straps installed. Once per month or so, I'll take my tail out of storage and run a fan on it to air it out. Hopefully this helps! I'll try to make a video for this soon. Sorry if this is a bit of a scatter-brained reply. My brain is mushy XD

It looks like it's a lot of work being a professional mermaid.

*nods* it seems like it's all worth it, though. (I hope). =)
But it's not as "fun and easy" as mermaids make it look. ;)
It is totally 100% worth it. You are absolutely right! ♥
;) I'm glad you think so. =)
Do these steps also pertain to a neoprene/silicone hybrid tail?

Do you clean your tail every time after you swim or do you just rinse it out and clean it every so often?
Mermaid Michele it should be cleaned after every use
What if you're allergic to vinegar??? Also how do you store your tail?
