Eve was a hell of a lot of fun to play~ Though I still have no idea wtf was going on. Also I'm sick right now and sound a lot more like the voice I did for Joan Rivers which is real weird.
I think they changed up stuff from the novel, but that's kind of par for the course in many adaptations. And the novel was also adapted into a live action film I'd love to get my hands on, not that I've read the novel, same with Battle Royale, which I've read the manga and seen the live action film
Got through all the Final Fantasy nutshells and so glad to see other games in the series. Hilarious takes on some popular games, especially the moments that point out the obvious annoyances or plot holes in games we might not have noticed when we played them way-back-when. Like how slowly Aya walks. Painful.
I’m actually both impressed and somewhat disappointed that Rabtoons managed to not make an abortion joke. A major boss being a literal mutant baby kind of leaves an opening for it.😅
Ya know, I'd kill to see RAB do the Persona series. With some of the crazy shit that happens there, it'd definitely fit in with the rest of their stuff.

Square Enix (formally Squaresoft) was definitely a major reason why the OG Playstation did so well in terms of sales. Some of their games were mega hits, others were cult classics. No wonder they stuck around on Playstation for so long.
I loved that game, but I got stuck on the Dinosaurs fight and my CD stopped working. I've never finished it, but this video allowed me to relive it so many years later! That's awesome! Thank you!

I just like mad scientists and mad doctors type characters. Hojo is one of my favorite FF7 characters. Mainly because of the beach scene. I find it as a WTF moment in gaming for me. Very telling when a parody channel acknowledges a well-received IP more than your company has in the past. No hard jabs Square, you have been bringing us some solid remakes/remasters in the last few years.
Random fact: Parasite Eve was one of the 2 original story ideas for final fantasy 7 before they landed on the one everyone knows. The other story idea ended up becoming the story of Xenogears.
Xenogears was, but I'm pretty sure the parasite eve novel predates the games. **quick google search** Yeah, the book came first, so Parasite Eve was never a potential FF7. Still one of the best Squaresoft RPGs of all time, but not an original IP. Xenogears thou - my favorite game ever. I'd love to see RAB do a Xenogears in a nutshell.

After it was turned down for ff7, they discovered the story of the parasite eve novel and decided to fuse the 2. So the story for parasite eve was originally going to be ff7, it just was fully fleshed out after they fused the elements from the parasite eve book with the story they had so far. So yeah, again, Parasite eves story outside the parts that came from the novel, we’re going to be ff7 originally
One thing I've heard is that Parasite Eve was kinda used as a technical demo for FFVIII, in the sense that many of the character-tool systems among other things within the game's internal features was used for FFVIII's development. It also is not often uncommon for game developers to do that sort of thing. Examples being Bully being used by Rockstar for GTA IV's developmental tool testing, & Square Enix using FFXV for FFVII Remake.
xenogears was originally supposedly to be FF7 but due to the religion arc of the story it were to be too controversial so Square soft before Square changed it name due to the marger re did the whole game

3:11 Glad to be the voice of the reporter who wants to know why Parasite Eve is never going to be rereleased. Seriously though, Square really needs to sort out the stuff and rerelease the games.
Hideaki Sena pretty much stated he'd never allow them to make a game again based on his IP. it's the reason the third game was called 3rd birthday and removed references to mitochondria and removed pretty much all of the references to existing world building other than the original creations in the games owned by squaresoft. he was upset because was kept in the dark about the story direction until it released so he had no involvement in it's creation. i'm not sure if he had prior knowledge of the creation or the publisher went behind his back. he disliked the first game but did not interfere with the series until after the second game released which he really hated. at that point he made it clear he would not tolerate another game. I had harbored some hidden hope that while making new games would be out due to this licensing issue there might be enough wiggle room to remake a game that they did have the rights to when published. given that it's never happened my guess is that it's not possible, especially since these types of games are killing it in the industry. so essentially the only way this will ever happen is if Hideaki is willing to change his mind or just sells the IP to his publisher who then deals with squarenix. given his stance I feel it's unlikely. could always try handwriting a letter to the author i guess

But I found absolutely nothing on him regarding PE2 or what you just stated him hating it and preventing SE from making anymore games involving his book! So can I get a source for the latter please! Also I think they brought up Parasite Eve recently and an interest to make a Sequel (weird since PE2 and Third Birthday exist) when they were talking about remakes to games like Vagrant Story! Whatever comes out of that remains to be seen! But I think I also heard on Reddit (so don't take it too serious) that it may not have been because of the Sena nothing more was made! or What happened with the Third Birthday (Looked into Development and turns out it wasn't because of anything to do with Sena! The director for 3rd Birthday was the reason everything to do with Parasite Eve wasn't in it because they felt Parasite Eve 2 story kind of made a sequel impossible....despite the fact there's NO WAY something as big as the Cult that made Neo-Ark could ALL have been cleaned up and taken care of at the end of PE2. They did say her powers disappeared but then they said AYA'S powers disappeared after Parasite Eve 1, but they still came back and were around, hell it's the reason she's still YOUNG LOOK in PE2l) Here's what I found under Development of 3rd Birthday on wiki (you can find it yourself there if you want to read the WHOLE Development, I only took from the last paragraph of it) "While many of the concepts for the final version were present in the original mobile version, such as Overdive and the Twisted, the original story was scrapped when the game came to upgraded platforms. In creating the story for The 3rd Birthday, the team took inspiration from the 10-year gap in the character's in-game and real-time history. This meant that it would be difficult to create a straightforward sequel, so the team instead decided to make the game about Aya's return. Toriyama imagined story concepts such as the snowy New York setting and the image of a bloodstained wedding dress. These two concepts survived the platform upgrade. I got a group of people to roleplay the highly detailed plot. We even made call signs, and raided yahoo roleplay chat. It was a legendary time that we have lost from the Internet. The only other Squaresoft game from that Era to use the same combat system as Parasite Eve was Vagrant Story. I could be wrong, but I played almost every PS1 Squaresoft game except Front Missison(3, I think). I wish they had made new Bushido Blade games on consoles that could handle the graphics and game play.

Parasite Eve 3 was fun to play though it sucked in terms of the story! P.e.2 was not that bad but couldn't live up. Some Originals are just classics
Knowing them, they’ll use timelines and multiverse in a remake. Making the storyline more convoluted than it should be
I always felt bad for the police dog and the horse when I played this around 1999 in my early twenties.

xenogears was originally supposedly to be FF7 but due to the religion arc of the story it were to be too controversial so Square soft before Square changed it name due to the marger re did the whole game

Hideaki Sena pretty much stated he'd never allow them to make a game again based on his IP. it's the reason the third game was called 3rd birthday and removed references to mitochondria and removed pretty much all of the references to existing world building other than the original creations in the games owned by squaresoft. he was upset because was kept in the dark about the story direction until it released so he had no involvement in it's creation. i'm not sure if he had prior knowledge of the creation or the publisher went behind his back. he disliked the first game but did not interfere with the series until after the second game released which he really hated. at that point he made it clear he would not tolerate another game. I had harbored some hidden hope that while making new games would be out due to this licensing issue there might be enough wiggle room to remake a game that they did have the rights to when published. given that it's never happened my guess is that it's not possible, especially since these types of games are killing it in the industry. so essentially the only way this will ever happen is if Hideaki is willing to change his mind or just sells the IP to his publisher who then deals with squarenix. given his stance I feel it's unlikely. could always try handwriting a letter to the author i guess

But I found absolutely nothing on him regarding PE2 or what you just stated him hating it and preventing SE from making anymore games involving his book! So can I get a source for the latter please!
Also I think they brought up Parasite Eve recently and an interest to make a Sequel (weird since PE2 and Third Birthday exist) when they were talking about remakes to games like Vagrant Story! Whatever comes out of that remains to be seen! But I think I also heard on Reddit (so don't take it too serious) that it may not have been because of the Sena nothing more was made! or What happened with the Third Birthday (Looked into Development and turns out it wasn't because of anything to do with Sena! The director for 3rd Birthday was the reason everything to do with Parasite Eve wasn't in it because they felt Parasite Eve 2 story kind of made a sequel impossible....despite the fact there's NO WAY something as big as the Cult that made Neo-Ark could ALL have been cleaned up and taken care of at the end of PE2. Or the NMC were gone as the ANMC were just something NEW when they established the NMC were still around and needed to be hunted! I mean 3rd Birthday showed they didn't even NEED to use AYA per say since EVE could have been the protagonist! They did say her powers disappeared but then they said AYA'S powers disappeared after Parasite Eve 1, but they still came back and were around, hell it's the reason she's still YOUNG LOOK in PE2l) Here's what I found under Development of 3rd Birthday on wiki (you can find it yourself there if you want to read the WHOLE Development, I only took from the last paragraph of it)
"While many of the concepts for the final version were present in the original mobile version, such as Overdive and the Twisted, the original story was scrapped when the game came to upgraded platforms. In creating the story for The 3rd Birthday, the team took inspiration from the 10-year gap in the character's in-game and real-time history. Still makes no sense as again THE NMC STILL EXIST! I feel the Director just wanted to make his OWN stuff while relying on as LITTLE of Sena stuff as possible. Hence the NMC became "The Twisted" but like with Kingdom Hearts, they got OVERLY Ambitious with the plot. 3rd Birthday was suppose to be an Episodic SIDE STORY on the Mobile like what they did with FFIV the After Years! (And we know how that ended) Not a main entry after all!

I got a group of people to roleplay the highly detailed plot. We even made call signs, and raided yahoo roleplay chat. It was a legendary time that we have lost from the Internet. That was when 4chan was in it's infancy.

The only other Squaresoft game from that Era to use the same combat system as Parasite Eve was Vagrant Story. I could be wrong, but I played almost every PS1 Squaresoft game except Front Missison(3, I think). I wish they had made new Bushido Blade games on consoles that could handle the graphics and game play.
