  • The car featured here is a 1969 Dodge A12 Super Bee. One of 420 coupes of which 153 were equipped with an automatic transmission. Of these only handful left the factory as X9 Velvet Black cars. Unusually the car was optioned from new with the stripe package deleted. It has a well documented past and was well known as the 'Transmission by Bruce' car campaigned on the drag strips in the Ohio area. It retains its matching numbers engine and transmission. The motor has been heavily re worked as a 528 cubic inch stroker but retains many of its original ancillaries including the heads, carbs, inlet and exhaust manifolds. Prior to its restoration in 2008 the car had only covered 17,000 miles mainly on the drag strip.

10 in 1970 my neighbor had a brand new 1970 charger, I'd go out when he started it up, that engine rumble was music to my ears.

They are going to outlaw those cars in all of Europe soon. Better send the car back home to me.
