    Class B's are so pricey but the compact size makes them easier to drive for most people. The refrigerator is so small and the midbsth is tight but it beats not having a bathroom! I definitely prefer the rear bath model. Seems more functional.

    Definitely the rear bath. I need the bigger fridge, the extra bathroom space, the black tank, and the more open feel. It's pretty awesome.

    Bathroom in the back is the way to go.
    So much more room. It can also act as a mud room. Easy in and out.

    We like mid bath because it divides sleeping from living. You can leave it as a bed and still have a living area up front and/or let your partner sleep while you're up front having coffee, working, etc. We did find a model from another manufacturer that offers rear couch/bed as well as large fridge and freezer up front.

    We're in the rear bath camp - the Sequence 20L though. That one has the galley on the driver's side and then two long benches that convert to twin beds or can be configured as a queen size. The advantage is that neither of us has to crawl over the other to get to the bathroom in the middle of the night and at our age we do need to do that 🙂It might have a bit less storage, but that's just a matter of planning and outfitting properly. We're short-trippers, not full-time residents so spending a month in the 20L is doable. The mid-bath units seem to accentuate the "small" factor of the coach and the bathrooms ought not have showers - they're just not something I'd want to do for a month or even a week. Using a bed bag gives us an always "made" bed that we can slip into at night and in the morning just zip it back up do it's a seating cushion during the day. The solar and internet/cell booster that's standard equipment along with the extra alternator in the engine bay gets rid of the generator but we can run the a/c on battery (3000W inverter). There are a couple of other manufacturers who offer something similar so it's not just something Thor builds.

    I'm not a class B person, way too compact. I also don't like having to put the bed together, Jenga style. But if I had to choose, rear bath would be better than mid bath. It seems to have more room and you can actually shut the Bathroom door. I like that the second model has a fridge with a separate freezer (though still small) and the convection microwave. I was very impressed with the amount of storage, especially in the 2nd one. If I were to ever get a B van, it would be great to have a bed that goes down and a rear bath. That might mean watching TV from the swiveled front seats or bed.

    I prefer the mid-bath model with the couch at the back. It gives you two areas to sit and if one prefers the bed can be available all day. The bathroom area in the Coachman Nova and Beyond models allows one to close the doors. The total bathroom area (if the storage in the back bathroom model is subtracted ) is about the same in both models. I also don't care for the open bench seating with one's feet dangling off the floor in most twin bed models.

    The wardrobe beside the mid-bath could be made a little smaller, thus giving more room in the bathroom. Let's face it, if you need to wear suits and evening dresses all the time, you would be in a hotel or a larger RV set-up.
    The seat behind the Captains chairs do not need to be wasted space, because if they are designed correctly they could double as a second bed area, suitable to sleep a third person, or perhaps a fourth as well. The KEA class B's had a set-up like that in their M-700 model, but I believe this year they dropped it.
    Some of the big RV companies are not very flexible to individual requests for customisation, and those that allow such changes are mainly superficial and cosmetic that an owner could probably do themselves anyway, but they can charge huge amounts for these minor changes. They tend to appeal to the majority and stick to just one or a few configurations. Smaller, custom build companies are far more flexible, and tend to be value for money. Some are poor quality but many can produce a finish as good or often better than the bigger corporations. Considering it is such a big "investment" in dollars, you should be able to buy what you need, but often, the choices are confined to the "lowest common denominator" with the big RV builders.

      @RVBlogger  Рік тому

      All great points and we completely agree. There is no perfect RV, even custom made. There will always be something sacrificed. Thanks for watching and commenting.

    Rear bath functionally is the better option in open living space, a clear walkway front to back door, rear sprayer/power outlets and ladder, the hide away pull out bed creates more space (Gaucho bed folds away into a couch) with pet water bowl slide away, night stand/power tower in gaucho pull out is great feature. What company platforms make this rear bath layout on a Ford Awd Transit?

    • @RVBlogger
      @RVBlogger  10 місяців тому

      We think the rear bathroom is a great floor plan in a Class B RV. Coachmen Beyond 22RB, Thor Palladium & Talavera 1910 and Chinook RV Bayside models have with rear bathrooms. Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting.

    I wish our Van designers would seriously reevaluate how we make RVs versus how the Europeans or Japanese do it. The fit and finish of Europeans and designs are years ahead of most things we can buy in US on very similar chassis' dimensions. What about offline power sources with all the new battery and solar options? I will definitely will not pay 140K and have my knees sticking out of the bathroom. I do not think our manufacturers are thinking hard enough and most of our US products are not well thought through. What about streaming options like the new Elon Musk's options for satellite based internet connection, security cameras... sorry to be negative. I think we have the knowledge and technologies, but most of our manufacturers are too greedy and put cheap particle board cabinetry and outdated 1970's A/C units like the ones shown. Seems they are more interested in volume sales, rather high quality products at more reasonable prices. with each year products improving more and more and give the EU companies a run for their money. We can do better than what we are doing. I am unimpressed.

    Rear bath gives more room. I wish more travel trailers & class C would do wet baths and do away with those small shower pans. Making the entire bath area wet would really open up the room to take a comfortable shower for us larger folk.

      Look at the smaller of the InTech Terra and OVR travel trailers. They have an unbelievably roomy wetbath. I am 6'3"+, 220 or so and found it very roomy. One thing they do to keep it so roomy is that there is no sink in it, which I think is an excellent tradeoff.

    One thing I’m curious about is if the designers have thought about having a long bath on one side and a full-size bed on the opposite, kind of a split design
    I see the differences between the mid bath and the rear bath. You have a lot more room with the rear bath, but I’m not crazy about the bed set up. The mid bath is really cramped but the bed is pretty decent

    Rear baths are the best, you have more room, it opens up the feel and the location gives as much privacy as possible from the others while also making it possible to enter from the back, get cleaned up before going in. I'd like to see a built in pull laundry cord for wet suits and such to be hung and dried with the aid of a fan. I love the ability to have a bathroom sink, I don't like the idea of what you wash and do in the bathroom being done in the kitchen sink. I would like to see a composting toilet, like natures head, instead of a black tank. I don't like using the chemicals, or dealing with a black tank.

    Mid bath in Nova C for myself and wife . I Iike the large bed (large queen) that the couch system allows. I'm 6'2"and can put my feet in the middle cut out at night . Can ,also, crawl out and use bathroom at night fairly easily. This is hard to do on RB models if the large bed is set up. I guess one would have to be able to spin 180 degs. to position oneself to access the RB. The actual bathroom area is about the same as the RB model so no advantage there. The Nova C has a large 7 cu. ft. refrigerator with only a 3 c.f. model available in the RB version.

    Hey Mike and Susan! Ya know for as much money as these things cost (a house on wheels), the bathrooms in these things are just too small for my comfort. I think for younger folks, they are okay. When you’re younger your tolerance is a bit different. And you’ll have many years to pay that thing off! Ha! I just know for me, at my age (58), I don’t have tolerance for such a small space. I think they are amazing though. I’d rather have something bigger and something where my grandkids could come along sometimes. Not enough room to spoil em!

I would have like to see a fold down counter shelf in the entertainment area for more counter space but the rear bath is very but I never understand why they are soooooo expensive compared to larger, more powerful small class A motorhomes..if they would market class Bs at a decent price they would take over.

    Rear bath is way better - more spacious living & showering areas! If you can't even shut the door while on the commode, well who needs THAT! 😄 I still don't understand why they can't design campers to be spacious & homey like they did the ones from the 70s. Your reviews are very helpful! I appreciate your honesty when you know a feature could be an issue. I’m liking the 20K model. I prefer the rear bathroom though I’m not liking the placement of the bed. It is between this and the Winnebago Travato 59K. What say you? I’d like your input.

      Thank you❤️! Winnebago makes a great product. As for floor plan, I think the Travato wins. I'd prefer to walk in to the kitchen area vs my bed/sofa when entering the RV. Could always trying renting one first to see you the floor plan best fits you. And check customer reviews for quality craftsmanship and customer service. That might make a difference to you. Thank you for your support!

      @@RVBlogger We are actually thinking about maybe getting something smaller. We’re looking at the Thor Scope 18G. Are you familiar with it?

      We haven't seen it in person yet. Hoping to at the Tampa RV show. It looks pretty sweet and not a bad MSRP for a Class B.

      @@RVBlogger I’m concerned about the Thor brand and their reputation!! I hear their warranty service and CS is not good at all! I really wanted a smaller camper van for the ease and the ability to take it and park it anywhere but unfortunately Winnebago doesn’t have a smaller version of their Travato 59K. Being that you guys are pros at what you do, I’d love any suggestions. I’m basically looking for a smaller version of the 59K but from a reputable company. 🤷🏻‍♀️

      I understand your reluctance. We bought a 2020 Thor and have constant problems. But we did purchase a third party extended warranty through Wholesale Warranties and we are very grateful for that. It's come in handy several times. We don't have a lot of intel on the Class B RVs but we'll definitely look around in Tampa.

    Being a larger lady I would want the rear bath. Just need a bit more room!

      I prefer the rear bathroom too! It makes both the bathroom and living space much more spacious. Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting. We appreciate your support!

    Do these come with slide outs? We camp with our dogs and recently upgraded to a bigger TT with a slide out for more space.

    Definitely rear bath. The other one is too cramped.

    Not very helpful in learning about +/- of mid- bath vs. rear bath. As much time (more?) spent describing other features of the Rv’s as spent on the bath locations and +/- of the different locations and set-ups. Misleading title.

      This video is showing viewers the variety of bathroom floor plan options you can get in a Class B motorhome. We do tours not pros and cons. Sorry you felt mislead. Thank you for watching our RV tour video and commenting!
