You should leave the thermometer in place because temp will drop when food is added. This way you can see the drop and adjust the reg to provide more even heat. The thermometer has a clip design to leave in place.
Mine is not all the way in, I have checked other videos and they are same also not all the way in. so far no problems with mine. Thanks for your support!!

Just wondering ... is there a max fill line and how much oil did the fryer take?
There is no max fill line which is very disappointing. I just used it on fourth of July and used a gallon of oil with no problem.
Is the brass fitting supposed to be all the way in? It doesn't seem right, I don't want to strip it

@@robertmunguia250 it does get scary turning it on.. what i do is turn the propane tank in the middle but no matter what its just scary..lol
