This is a wonderful video, esp for fans like you who love their music but weren't aware of some of the things she mentioned about their career and their social activism. Another way they try to reach out to marginalized groups is to include sign language in some of their choreo such as Starry Night, where they sign "The stars are shining." Wheein has been seen signing with hearing impaired moomoos at fan meets. I Say Mamamoo: The Best includes 21 hits and favorite b-sides plus 2 new songs. All 21 old songs are new recordings and many of them are the remixes or rearrangements they had only done in concerts or award shows. They're mostly played with real instruments rather than synths and programmed drum tracks and many of the instrumental tracks on the songs have a 'live in studio' one take vibe. There wasn't really much discussion of them being underrated. I think it's reflected in their album sales and in some cases the awards they haven't received. MMM albums usually sell around 100K copies whereas the most popular groups' albums sell in the millions. Awards they could or should have received include daesang awards for Artist of the Year or at least Best Female Artist in 2018 and 2019 when they released the four albums in the 4 Season 4 Color series, the most complex and ambitious project by a girl group and an historic, landmark achievement, capped it off with a spectacular 4 Seasons tour of concerts that ran 4 to 5 hours long, followed by their win on Queendom, the album "reality in BLACK" and the massive success of Hip. Same with Hwasa in 2020 for the Maria album and song. Maria was another smash hit and more importantly it was the most socially impactful song of the year, esp in combo with LMM, the bookend song on the album, and imo it's a tossup which should have won for Song of the Year. Considering she's thought to be one of the worst dancers in a group that can't dance according to some people it's kind of ironic that Hwasa won the MAMA award for Best Solo Dance Performance for Maria rather than an award for the song itself. I don't put much stock in music awards because they usually favor popularity over artistry but those were just a few examples of Mamamoo's talent and accomplishments being underappreciated, which is perhaps a more accurate word to describe MMM than underrated.
Every time I see this video, I can't stop crying. Nahiseokie's video is probably the best Mamamoo content, and even this video is just the tip of the iceberg. I don't think it's possible to make only one video about how many problems they had to be dealt with. Or how much hate they had to endure to protect other Idols, or each other, and make their life easier. Not to mention the problems in their personal lives. Especially Wheein's. There's a reason why every member protects her as their own child. I'm new here and looks like you watched a lot of Mamamoo content, so you probably already know a couple of things about their lives too. I'm sure, other Moomoos filled you in. Great reaction, btw.
since you mentioned "girl crush", this term actually originates with mamamoo or at least gained popularity because of them, specifically moon byul. they even have a song called girl crush, which is about how men react when women wanna be appealing to other women. i personally believe that the media started using the term for mamamoo, simply to paint the attention mamamoo got from female fans in another light. more like "shes so cool, women wanna be her" instead of "these fans are lesbians" lol.

Is anyone paying attention...Wheein just had a birthday... Wheein was there, and her staff because she is solo and killing it! Why shouldn't she? Each of the four members is taking a different approach to their future. New songs or Mamamoo material is sketchy at best unless something was not delivered on the past contract but, I think it's done for at least the next year or so. They are now seniors and each is so highly respected and they need to pad their bank accounts as the new kids steal the limelight. I think a better video is how in such a short time they changed a lot of Korean kpop norms and expectations for the next gens.
