I am an actor and content creator with Hollywood credits including roles on Lucifer (Netflix), Starlight Christmas (Hallmark), JT Leroy (Universal Studios), etc. In this channel, I offer insight to Kpop performances using my 10+ years of training in dance, acting, singing and overall performance. True! But Chen use that to improve himself more that's why he's very good at dancing rn. As well as Suho and Chanyeol. They all want to improve themselves even more. They never get tired of learning, that's why I love them so much.
The idea for EXO-CBX came from their personal trainer who recommended them to form a unit because they had similar heights and movements.

NYEK no one in CBX can be considered tall, they are all below the average height for Korean men

Sarah Zimmerli id say theyre an average height for korean men. Going by statics they might be below average, but even though the younger ppl in korea are usually much taller now, me being 170cm/around 5’7 I was usually taller than most of the ppl on the subway for example. Xiuchenbaek arent tall by any means but theyre not below the height youd usually meet on the street lol
Believe it or not, CBX is a more vocally centered group. Chen and Baekhyun and 2/3 of EXO’s main vocalists. Chen is a freaking GOD, Baekhyun has one of my favorite tones, and Xiumin has one of the best falsetto and head voice in the group. The only one with a dance position is Xiumin (lead dancer) but I think everyone in EXO is a great dancer so...... the group was created when their trainer said they were all the same height and should form a subunit 😂 so I don’t think it was their intention to be dance or vocally centered. I think it was just coincidence.

Miraiku The Goddess I think Xiumin and Baek were right in the middle when they debuted. Top4 was Lay, Kai, Sehun and Luhan
Bottom 4 were Chanyeol, Suho, Chen and Kris

Xiumin was in level A when he was a trainer and had solos since Exo M
I mean I'm not even xuimin biased (I'm jong bros biased) but he is literally the hidden ace of exo, amazing voice with the highest note in the whole group (yes believe it or not) one of the main dancers of exo that can blend so well with all the members not to mention how fast he jump from one side of the stage to another smartly without anyone noticing and then you hear his rap and boom he wreck your whole bias list hahaha I really love him he deserves Moe love like people doesn't usually talk about his capabilities and New fans are always shocked by him.
On a side note exo cbx is amazing, and no they are not all in the dancing line, shocking righttt

I think "blooming days" is the cleanest exo's dance practice video so far. Yes, they are some of the strongest dancers in exo but two of them weren't. I'm very impressed and proud with their hard work & improvement. Other than that, a lot of people recommend "Wolf" live in Japan but actually that song also has an official MV, so i think it would be nice if you react to both of them just to find out (as a comparison) why we always said that they're much better in performing live. And if you're gonna react to a concert performances, please do all of them from Japan concert. Beside of better quality, audio, stage & camera angle, also because in exordium Seoul concert, unfortunatelly Kai was injured & didn't participate in dancing at all, poor Kai. @@Unbelievebul yes you're right . Actually i just joking . It's because exo's leader complained that before SM spend a lot of money on shooting exo's music videos overseas but nowadays they just filmed the mvs inside korea and sometimes inside a studio, and stated that they are going minimalism.

About vocals complimenting each other - SM always considers the general "sound" of the group and puts together people with different tones and vocal abilities, love them for that, it's fascinating to listen to 💗
I like it when you said that cbx is composed of the best dancers in exo..
But actually xiumin is the only one with the dance position in cbx.. While beakhyun is acknowledge by exo members as one of the fastest to learn their choreography..
Before chen is considered as one of the "black holes" of exo in terms of dancing but as you can see he improve a lot since debut by pracricing so hard..

this is the main vocal line... minus Ksoo, honestly Jongdae wasn't confident in his dance in the beginning and he was the butt of the joke on shows when it came to dance like on weekly idol, they've all come a VERY long way, but these 3 were known to be the "weakest" dancers? I dont even know of that's right but a couple years ago you'd never call Baekhyun or Jongdae the strongest dancers, maybe Minseok because hes one of the lead dancers in exo-m, ahhh im so proud of them all of exo is every line tbh

I think Baekhyun was pretty good in dancing right from the start, when I saw him for the first time when they debuted I thought I missed some info about him being also lead dancer. And he also improved over the years and he can be main dancer in some other groups. He's able to blend into SuperM and keep up with them, with the group with like 5 main dancers and one lead of their respective groups. Baek's lead dancer by now as well obviously, at least skill-wise, not sure if SM made it official

Fathy when they first debuted Chen was considered one of the three blackholes. Baek wasn’t that strong either but he always worked extremely hard which helped him improve very fast. Minseok was always considered one of the better dancers

Blooming day, both the song and album are easily a top favourite for a lot of people because we finally have Xiumin showcasing his vocals in CBX while Baekhyun and Chen are able to show how much they improved in their dancing considering they trained less than 6 months before debuting. The album consists of songs for each day of the week and I literally heard every song every single corresponding day for a whole year because it's such a great concept. The mv was done by the same people who did EXO's Obsession too so they were is good hands.
You would really like some of their live performances like "El Dorado" and "엑소 EXO _ Coming Over + Run This + Drop That + Power". They are quite the production! Both of these Live performances you can find on the tube and may be for more personal consumption as the entire stage is the show in all of these. The second shows a more rock and roll persona.

Xiumin once said that Blooming Day dance choreography is one of the hardest choreography for them because they have to keep moving & singing without stoping ! That’s why when they perform Blooming day live they become so amazing 🔥👍🏻

What's I admire the most about EXO is that They had reached the top, being King Of Kpop, Kpop Legend etc, but they still wanna improve their talents, attend training for vocal when they already have 3 Korean best vocalists, and still attend some dancing class.

Xiumin is my ult and i feel like he's the forgotten lead dancer, but only because he rarely has the occasion to show his capacities and rarely has solo dance breaks. He can do everything (vocal, rap, dance) but is often there as a supporting role i feel like, because he does not have a main position so he often go unnoticed by people.
Ps: no shade to anyone, i repeat, no shade to anyone, i love each member of exo equally. Just sad he can't show his full potential (just like sehun with his rapping and singing).
Edit: when I heard this subunit existed i was very thrilled because Xiumin could finally have some spotlight, you have no idea how happy i was.
Thank you Jeff!! Hearing you said all of those praises to them really is somewhat low-key (NAHHH IT'S HIGH-KEY) makes me proud. As Chen and Baekhyun are originally the main vocal for EXO-M and EXO-K, meanwhile Xiumin is part of the dancing line from EXO-M at the beginning. But YES, YES, and YES.. Chen improved so much knowing he used to be the dancing black-hole along side with Chanyeol and improved this much, then Baekhyun coming through and improve his dancing skill too and got quite a lot of opportunities to perform a dance break either with the dancing line or alone, and Xiumin that FINALLY show his vocal ability from year to year as how he was exactly pass the SM audition through a singing contest. and HERE THEY ARE PERFORMING ALL OF THE TEA.

You mentioned how they all must be the top dancers of the group but believe it or not Chen was not necessarily considered one of the "good" dancers in the beginning which is crazy when you see him here. You can tell he has worked very hard over the years and I think he's just amazing now and the three of them really blend well together.

Yes, we all know that only Xiumin has the position of lead dancer in EXO but Baekhyun & Chen worked too hard to improve their dancing skills. Actually, these three are always in-synch, I have watched all EXO-CBX concert videos and that is the one thing I noticed ofc aside from their vocals, they moved in unison. EXO-CBX for me is the best sub-unit formed in Kpop.
When the choreo is not that hard, I think what matters most is the execution and EXO are always great performers! Please react to Taemin's Sayonara Hitori, it's such and incredible song with a really memorable choreo!

Fun fact: Did you notice how EXO-CBX has 6 backup dancers? With CBX there are always 6 backup dancers because 9 is a good number when it comes to formations in choreography, but fans think it's also supposed to mirror the fact that as members of EXO, even as a sub-unit they are still part of the main group. EXO's main group has 9 members so, the 6 backup dancers are supposed to be a visual representation of the rest of the members of EXO. EXO-CBX was EXO's first sub-sub-unit and some think that SM wanted to create a way to make it clear that just because they are a sub-unit doesn't mean that they aren't still connected to everything that makes them EXO.
EXO-CBX is a sub-unit of EXO, made up of 3 of EXO's main/lead vocalists -- Chen, Baekhyun (main vocalists) and Xiumin (lead vocalist), hence the name CBX. And as with everything EXO does, including their solo work and sub-units, the stories in their MVs are all connected to EXO's larger storyline. All though, all of EXO are known for their dancing, Chen, Baekhyun and Xiumin are not known as "the dancers," that's what makes EXO so impressive. Even the vocalists can dance and rap. All the members of EXO can do it all. (Kai, Lay and Sehun are the main/lead dancers of EXO.)
CBX was formed because at the time Chen, Baekhyun and Xiumin were the only members who didn't have any side projects. They were all in the gym working out together discussing what they should do while everyone else was working on other things, and their trainer suggested they form a sub-unit. So they took the idea to the company and SM agreed that they would make a good unit. Plus, CBX gives SM a chance to bring EXO more fully into the Japanese market. CBX focuses on the Korean and Japanese market. CBX releases Japanese songs and albums. They are one of SM's most popular sub-units and they are so popular that they have held their own concert tour with just their sub-unit.
"Blooming Day" is part of EXO-CBX's Blooming Days album and there is one song for every day of the week. "Blooming Day" is Tuesday's song.

In an interview early on Chen said that pre-debut, Xiumin would spend hours after dance practice with him (Chen) and Baekhyun to help them with their dancing
that's so sweet! I had a feeling that CBX was a thing from their early days, so this really proves my thoughts
I was all smiles when he side that the synchronization here is great because that just means that Chen can now keep up with the main dancers. He used to be one of the least experienced dancers in the group (with Chanyeol and Suho). Good job, my bias-wrecker Chen!

I really love the style, it really suits their voices
I looove the musical and dance style they've done for CBX. I've watched this dance practice so many times, and the MV is basically a pictorial featuring dance lol. They did live vocals for most performances I've seen of this which is quite impressive, because you can tell it's hard to sustain that lower more quiet way of singing while the moves are.. LIKE THAT. As soon as they can hit the louder and higher notes you can suddenly hear them very well haha.

As a Chen stan it's nice to hear you suggest he's one of the strongest dancers haha, if I remember correctly Chen actually only had a year (or less?) of training before debuting w/ EXO and his dancing was actually his weakest point, so he wasn't the best dancer in EXO by any means when they first started out. He's definitely improved lots and it's nice that his hard work paid off

I think this song is always made everyone hooked at the first time. I found myself really into this song and even listen to the whole album and I like all of the songs. Which means I rarely did that to exo songs xD
their b-sides are no joke though 😅 i'd really recommend you start listening to exo's b-sides, they love exploring music genres so you'll always have a few songs that you'd like 💕😁 i can recommend a few songs if you wanna and i can assure you that their b-sides are not to be messed with or belittled ( you'd be surprised, in a good way 😍 )

Chen and Baekhyun had only 4 months of training before debuting and had to catch up on dancing so Kai was teaching Chen I believe and Sehun took Baekhyun.
Chen was considered worst dancer of the group along with Chanyeol and Suho, but they are such hardworking individuals that this kind of choreo was possible 👏
Baekhyun apparently learns choreography by watching others dance and Xiumin is a very graceful dancer. His position when they debuted was actually as a rapper.
If that isn't proof of how versatile EXO is idk what is. 💞

For me, Blooming Day was the most difficult dance I ever tried to learn. It felt even more difficult than Elektric Kiss... and yeah, also more difficult than Monster, I love it!
You definitely have to add watching a stage performance for this one! The dance practice video is just that, a practice video usually used to sending to shows for camera work reference, but their choreography may change slightly between the time of the practice and the real stage performances! So I recommend a stage performance to have a good full experience.

Blooming Days album was made for each song representing a day of the week.
the reason why they can do unison choreos is bcuz they are all about the same size so the movements looks much more cleaner when executed. and they also have good strong cores
