You hit the nail on the head with the underlying sadness all throughout despite the light and airy feel of the music and video. Justin's dreamsmith theme is him not accepting a reality of hate, that's why he opts to live in his own fantasy. It makes us all think that we can dream about love, beauty, peace, and perfection, too. (S/n: Justin's already getting flak locally for his "perfection", particularly his nose-- which ironically, is real, btw.)
