Hell yeah! It's what makes sense currently price/performance ratio, especially when it was on sale for $999. MS just needs to fix the Dolby Vision issue with all OLED with VRR.
I've been using my Samsung G7 for a few years and decided to jump into the OLED space. I was looking at the Asus and LG but all the reviews said Alienware is just as good of a display for cheaper. So I bought it and love the heck out of it.
That's awesome! Yup, the Alienware is almost perfect; if they can get the Dolby Vision working, mainly Microsoft's fault (win 11 issue), then this would be the perfect 1000nit OLED Monitor for the price IMHO.
Have you ever tried it with Mac? I was thinking to try it with M1 Mac. The sole reason for thinking to buy this is because of Glossy QD-OLED Panel and text clarity. Probably a bit of gaming with the PS5. How do you set up your sound system?
I use this 80% of the time on my macOS VM on unraid server! :D I just used windows 11 VM during the video because of games. It's pretty good on the macOS, but don't expect dolby vision enabled as macOS currently only has HDR option. Not to be confused with Apple TV+'s content which are all on Dolby Vision. As for my sound system, on my Workstation/Server, I have an external DAC with Kanto Studio Speakers, you can check on my gear on the description :) It will look good on PS5, Consoles can only really get up to 120FPS dynamic (not constant), where this monitor shines is if you can maximize the 240hz :)
I am in the same boat .. looking for a 32 inch monitor for 70% of reading 15% media consumption and 15% gaming(console) Do you think this is a right choice? All the text clarity versions are great 4k and 5k but at 60hz so can't game
@@avocadodevotee If the game supports DLSS then you can definitely play with 60 fps. I play SCUM with a RTX 2070 Super with highest setting at 60 FPS with DLSS set to ultra performance.
Good Question, I'm using these with 2 other 4K monitors! LOL this is still 4K, not ultra wide, just a 32" instead of the common 27"; you may be able to get a little bit of real estate since everything looks bigger, you can decrease the font size (on windows) from 150% - 125% or even 100% if you fancy it.
I love mine dearly im obsessed with it. But i got lucky and was able to buy it second hand with a receipt 2 months old for 750. But i believe its worth its 1100 dollar price.

That's a good question. This monitor does not have a built-in speakers, and all monitors that have built-in speakers are tiny, so I never recommend them. This Dell Alienware Monitor though has an eARC HDMI 2.1 port that you can hook up your eARC compatible Speakers.
buy speakers that have an HDMI port and connect them to the monitor to the eARC HDMI port and you will get sound. connect your console to the NON eARC HDMI port. there are 2 HDMI ports. one is for speakers and one is for the console
The binocular feature is kinda dissapointing though, I don't see a big magnification. maybe like 5-10% EDIT: It is actually possible! You need to install the software from the official dell website!
good point! but the argument to that is DP 1.4 uses DSC while it's not needed in DP 2.1; likely won't see a big difference but having extra room for bandwith is better in theory; but alas, we don't really have a real world application for DP 2.1 for now, maybe in 2 yrs time.
Hey, Yes GPU is important when you are primarly playing AAA Games and want the HDR on all the time. I do have Sapphire Nitro+ 6900 XT SE which is more than enough to enable HDR on all the time; I know, I'm using AMD instead of NVidia because I have a macOS VM in my server, and Apple doesn't want to support Nvidia. however, if you just want HDR for watching movies, you really don't need more than an RTX 3060 or RX 6600 XT :)
hey, that's a good question. For your case, that will depend on your Fire TV Stick if it supports 4K Dolby Vision. The Alienware has Dolby Vision option and it does show on the Win 11 Netflix desktop app when I played dolby vision there
Yup, I use the 4k max stick with mine, it automatically switches the monitor to dolby vision mode when there's content for it and it works great. haven't tested with netflix but I'm watching the fallout series on prime at the moment
