IM telling you man these cats could do all I dont know what else there is to say about them.. but im sure as shit blessed to have been raised in the era of outstanding music that was put in my spirit as a young buck..thank my Mother and Father for having me the time they did you guys had perfect timing
Back in 74 when I was 10 years old my mother would play this on the 45 single. We accidentally discovered it because we bought the single for the other hit “Fire” which was on the other side of the record
That white boy probably came in the 2000's cause I use to go to their shows and it was just 7. Of them for all of the 70s I think,I know with all of their early hits it was just 7.
James "Diamond" Williams is alive and well. Leroy "Sugarfoot" Bonner, Clarence "Satch" Satchell, Marshall Jones, and Ralph Middlebrooks ("Pee Wee") passed away.
In 1974, I was 22yrs. young and was full of It!! Watching The Players and The Average White Band share the stage was, I Guess You Could Say, Bucket List back in the day!!! Here we are going into 2025 and The Thrill is still there. Old School Youngsters !!!
I love the wonderfulness that you do to these songs! Some remind me of drinking coffee with mom and dad when I was just a little girl, some remind me of watching them dance in the living room. Some remind me of hanging out with my sisters and brother in the park. The music you recreate brings me to tears in a sad and happy way. Music was so important in our household. They're gone now, but your extended versions gives me a sense of the extended and never ending love I have for them. Thanks for helping me to keep their memories alive.
Should've been inducted into The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame decades ago.
Amen.

Reminds me how I used to play this album in my old apartment 11 years ago.
One of my favourites of all time. Reminds me of my late brother and summer time back in the 70's
