Great episode. As far as I could tell, the North Shore junction has all of the important movements for the T and any of the secondary movements missed are settled by the parclo right next to it. Well done.
Hey! I'm from seattle! I know exactly where you're talking about. Did you know, that there's an island that I-90 goes through. The reason i bring this up is because that island has a bridge that lands on the seattle side, and then goes into a tunnel through a massive hill that has a bunch of houses on it. Your first interchange is what i thought of when you started this video.
Hey Timeister, your highway interchanges look really cool. I'm always impressed of the patiens you guys have when building. FYI: On-ramps connecting to the left side of the road are very uncommon here in germany. We also have some but they are secured by speed limits, warning signs and guardrails.
I wish projects like a massive bridge were reflected more realistically in the cost of the project, that bridge would not be a reasonable project for a city of your size. Obvious not your fault, just wanted to point it out. The Golden Gate Bridge cost 27 million to be built in the 1930s, which apparently is something like 550 million in todays dollar value.
Love it! I also have a suggestion yhat i think will make Bixton 10x better, fix the waterfronts to the small "river" going through downtown. I think it'll be a great fix. What I mean is try to make it to where it's around the same width throughout the whole way, and have the main street go over both of the riverside roads, it'll look cool
I would really like to see a Giant Harbour in the Bay between Bixton and the other city! With multiple of cargo Ports and also passenger ports, that would be really cool!
There are a lot of left entry and left exit ramps in the interstate system. However, they are generally replaced as a part of any upgrades. As you noted, they are proven less safe. It's best to use Occam's Razor (the simplest solution is almost always the best solution) in designing highways and interchanges. Complexity drives cost. Bridges and overpasses cost more than surface roads. Tunnels cost more than cuts. Cuts may cost more than rerouting. Rule of thumb: as costly as necessary but no more costly. Then again, this is a game. If you want spaghetti interchanges, go for it.
What a nice video, hopefully there is no clapping in it >_> But yeah, nice series so far man :) Got some ideas: the area between Bixton and Auburn could be sprawled together by business/office/industrial parks and a shared airport. Connect both cities with a light rail link (Seattle Link-style, a subway underground just in central Bixton and for the remainder above ground/elevated). That nice hill in Bixton, beautiful real estate for those who have the money to afford living in higher spheres.
I love the cs:2 road tools because the styling and complexity is so unique for each builder that about 2 minutes before you said so I went “wow that interchange looks like the Seattle I-5 interchange ” (to be fair I also thought it looked a bit like I-5 and CA-163 interchange) Seattle, Vancouver, and Portland all have crazy interchanges imo, likely due to the combo of mountains, water, and density. I kinda just know that interchange as the point you can estimate how many hours you’ll be stuck in traffic though 13:00 also, I tend to differ. In my C:S1 cities and my interchange sketches, I find urban areas are more realistic with partial interchanges in some spots. I tend to connect three major roads, and than append a few exits to a fourth road from one side. This kinda gives me those weird interchanges where you can tell they used to be smaller. Maybe just west coast type highways though, idk. Someday I wanna do a socal inspired city and just go crazy with highways and interchanges, just for fun. Long ahh comment
Check out Auburn California. Sierra College was established in the 1880s and became Placer High School before moving down to Rocklin. We have the Foresthill Bridge which is 734’ tall downstream from the Clementine Dam
Don’t know if you did this by design but on the San Francisco side of the bridge it does actually go through a tunnel right after the bridge gets back to land…super cool detail! And another awesome video! Also I’m from North Carolina and here we have multiple on and off ramps that come in or exit from the left hand side so it is realistic to have that!
I think you should rename your highways to interstate something something like the main highway for example going through the city should be I-7 and the bridge highway should be I-107
this guy rwaly is s highway nerd personaly i dont live in the big city so my only exsperience with interchanges is taking one wrong turn and wasting 20 minutes going in the wrong direction
@@Timeister University of Auburn in Alabama, rivals of my University of Alabama (Roll Tide!!). But their colors are blue and orange and mascots are the Tiger and the Eagle they shout “war eagle” at the games. My buddy is gonna love this btw. 🤣😁

awesome interchanges dude, love it! The one in the mountains was fantastic
Thank you 🙂
You really shine when it comes to highway work. Those interchanges were beautiful. Props to the devs too, the road tools are so much fun to work with.
Watching the cars come and go on this interchange feels like a warm lunch hour drive, when spring just starts to hit!

Highways Designed by you are just flawless and amazing !!
Thanks! 🙂
waiting for your future videos@@Timeister
What I think I like most about CS2 is it looks like adding smooth entrance and exit ramps is fairly easy. Definitely on my Christmas wish list!
take a fat dab there sir?
Searched up how to make highways in CS2 after getting frustrated with 2 hours of failed attempts... You make it look so easy, bro!! Beautiful.

Just thinking of driving that interchange is giving me anxiety
agreed it's definatly one of those were you'd be doomed to make a wrong turn. unles you ar a local thats alredy used it 1000 times before

Yes I agree roads are super cheap in CS2. In this case we could assume that most of the project was paid for by state/federal governments.
Yeah thats fair enough@@Timeister
Bro just showed 10hrs of work in 25 mins💀.......
Truly amazing.

Thanks for listening to my suggestion now could use the highway going to the bridge instead of going outside the city to go back inside the city
Damn, those cars are flying in the cinematically 😂
Wow, I'm really impressed with the interchanges, didn't know you were this good
The best youtubers i have seen ever in building Highways on this game !!
Still haven’t gotten CS2 because I’m waiting for optimization but these road tools keep amazing me
The North Shore, second built in video, interchange is not missing any movements with the inclusion of the partial secondary interchange!
yay! looks amazing T! Ill be back. 'tums up' your interchanges are always top notch.
HOLY MOLY that is an amazing intersection - and to build it with no mods available!? Iconic
I would really like to see a Giant Harbour in the Bay between Bixton and the other city! With multiple of cargo Ports and also passenger ports, that would be really cool!
Fantastic highway work! Been watching you since timbukton days man (since ep. 6) can’t wait for more cs2 content!

some very impressive highway interchange work there mate!
Amazing interchange Tim! You always deliver 😊
Nice spaghetti bowl
That interchange kinda reminds me of the mixing bowl in northern Virginia

Love the Seattle Inspiration!!!!
Really Nice road infrastructure for auburg. Don't forget to draw bus lines using the new shorter route through the bridge.

wait til we get a high mast street light asset to really make that interchange look real!
the 'Civil Engineer' episode
I highly recommend you do interchanges as a live stream ❤
It'd be nice to have the Astoria bridge for extra hump. Close to zero height at both ends, and built to pass a battleship.
Sydney Harbour Bridge too.
I have found that if you set up your tunnel entrance and exite with cliff faces with the landscape tools it becomes easier
I'll keep that in mind, thanks!
Can’t help but think roundabouts would help make the intersections simpler.
Building highways are much better than skyline 1 😮💨
Really wanna see you on 5b1c this year
Well In Houston we have entrance and exit in the middle name
Wait is this vanilla gameplay or are there modifications?
Nice work!
I've gotta say, I don't like the golden gate. The interchanges were marvellous though.
As a European these are rlly interesting cos I don’t see them in the uk
The only problem I see is that it is looking too good !!

I love the design so far 10 mins in, but at the same time, interchanging the highway to a normal street road? Ew!
it need to go from highway to road somwere
