    Funny thing that carp story is what Asian parents use to tell their children and even if not, it's the same mentality for rising up high in dominance hierarchies--it's even funnier since the ones who stops them from going up ain't from their own carp groups but rather "demons and stuff" (so if you're betrayed while trying to climb up the social ladder, they're demons from the start lol)

I think there should be more videos about the Fujiwara Clan that married their daughters into Imperial family, granting them control over the Heian court for 200 years. I think that is something that a lot of people who love Japanese history want to hear more about. (In seriousness, I heard from a University professor that the Fujiwara family is still in politics and they are still manipulating the Japanese senate or government seats. It’s funny how they saw land food as worse and sea food as superior; because in the U.K. it used to be the complete opposite. The best foods that lords and kings would eat were boar, venison, and birds like swan and goose. Seafood and fish were generally seen as for the lower class. They may be posh now, but mussels, lobster and oysters used to be poor person food, seen as little more than insects

      To be fair deer meat sucks unless it's well prepared and even then it's just meh. It's definitely an acquired taste.

    • @bigfootpart4therevengeancing
      @bigfootpart4therevengeancing Рік тому +1

      @jagoldenpyrenees491 I'll just say different strokes for different folks when it comes to opinions on the taste of venison compared to seafood, but one thing that is not up for debate is how much easier it is to survive off of big game through winter compared to Shellfish.
      Squid, clams, crab, lobster, and conch all taste great, but they're bite-sized compared to a potential yield of more than 100 pounds of good red meat that could last months if properly cured or frozen.

      @jagoldenpyrenees491 Like I said, I value calories over finger food, so cows, pigs, deer, and the like mean more to me than lobster.
      And as far as carp goes, if they're easy for a person to scoop out of a pond, then they're also easy for wild animals to scoop out.
      You also have to factor in the introduction of waterborne pathogens that could quickly kill off fish stock, especially in a small body of water, which could easily mean the end of a supply of fish.
