Been working on something similar - triplets, say D-Bb-D, C#-A-C#, C-Ab_C, etc, tonguing the 1st, slurring the rest, I find it difficult to get the tongue just on the higher note. For some reason it's easier in reverse coming up - G-B-G, Ab-C-Ab, etc. Physically it seems easier to articulate the whole thing but I'd like the ability to do it both ways. Remember the Watrous cadenza on 4th Floor Walk Up? He does triplets like this, I think only articulating the 1st notes. But they're so clean, I'm not sure. Either way I figure this is a good technique to have in the bag.
