    for the second part yes you are absolutely correct that just because you don't have a solution does not mean any other solution is correct, however if you accept that unchecked immigration is a problem, and you don't have a solution for how to handle it, you can't just shut down a proposed idea as a possible solution, you can be critical absolutely, but you can't just say, "doing something is not the answer, period" without an alternative.

    Great video. Comparing an inanimate gift to someone that violated laws and tried to cut in front of plenty of other just as deserving individuals who are waiting to come here legally. Yeah, I absolutely see the parallels.

    The Statue of Liberty was not brought to the USA illegally. She was a gift from France to the USA and then she became and American icon. The video is sarcatic.

    See my friend , direct of the page of "Real Academia Española": "Es frecuente referirse a este país a través de su abreviatura: EE. UU. Puesto que se trata de una abreviatura, y no de una sigla, debe escribirse con puntos y con un espacio de separación entre los dos pares de letras. Existe también la sigla EUA, que, como corresponde a las siglas, se escribe sin puntos.". I think i am able to say how we wrote USA in our language because i am mexican and i live in Mexico.

    I dont think that, i know in the college of USA almost always teach spanish for the second language, and the spanish is one of the most speaking lenguajes in the world, and for general knowledge you must know how they call your country, finally, the context of the conversation give you all the clues to resolve what means EUA.The fact i dont know a solution, or anyone knows a better solution, doesn't means any "solution" propose someone must be do it, this must be discussed and analized deeply.

    EUA It is Spanish as well, There a different from abbreviation and acronym. See RAE

  • @imaferretmaster
    @imaferretmaster 11 років тому

    no one refers to the united states as the "EUA", though. that's more of a spanish speaking nation's colloquialism, and even then it's not very common. most people, regardless of their native tongue, refer to it as the "USA", so forgive me for not knowing that. of course the context gives you the ability to kind of guess that you were referring to the united states, but you were obviously not a native english speaker and i can't just assume i automatically understand what you meant.

  • @RickDC1

    You probably also think that bonjour is a Spanish word.

  • @imaferretmaster
    @imaferretmaster 11 років тому

    not a problem, however very few people from a country that is not predominantly spanish speaking would know that predominantly spanish speaking countries refer to the united states as the "EUA". However, if you lack any solution to the problem of unchecked immigration, then you have to kind of concede to solutions put forth by other people. otherwise you're just denying a potential solution based on pure passion and feeling rather than logic and thought.

    scoobert, if the debate was a sane as you portray it, you might have a point, but just look at the ridiculous idiocy of the gomers who freaked out about when the little 11 year old Mariachi singer and, American born citizen, Sebastian De La Cruz sang the national anthem at the NBA finals last week. I'd say when you are dealing with irrational hate crazed bigots, the most powerful weapon we have is humor and making them look like the bigoted fascists they truly are! Lighten up, big boy!

    that's not really comparable, though. a statue is not a human being who consumes resources on a daily basis. the world doesn't work like it did 200 years ago, our towns consist of more than 20 people and we have federal programs paid for by citizens, the idea that we should just leave immigration unregulated and unchecked is not rational. obviously people go overboard, but it's still a reality we have to accept.

    lame argument. You do know we allow 670,000 immigrants every year. IT's not like the us is on lock down. As in every country there is a process to enter a country. Laws. You know, like speeding or drunk driving etc. Laws.

  • @pilatessrocks
    @pilatessrocks 11 років тому

    I might agree with you on principal, but your argument is faulty. Europeans did not illegally immigrate here. For something to be illegal you have to have a law stating said law. There was no such law. Pick a different argument. I might agree with you.

    You just have to laugh at that. You know who the original "lenders" of this entire continent (yes the CONTINENT of America) are? That's right, native americans. Indigenous people with their own culture that had to "borrow" their lands to europeans. By force. Mestizos were actually born from that mixture of cultures.
    Someone needs to back off, go back to school and read some.

    Why in the world would you want to deport the statue? Even if it is a joke or if it is real the fact that someone has the time to worry about a statue over real problems such as real immigrants. Its really sad. The statue has been here for a long time so she is American as it gets. Plus that's a lot of hard work to make just to throw her away as this video is trying to do. Just stupid...
