      @@kb1759 My bible has been "The Starch Solution" by Dr. McDougall for the whole time. I have permanently lost 120 pounds over that period. My favorite starch, hands down are Sweet Potatoes, with Greens and Fruits. I rarely cheat. I am 6 feet tall, and went from 310 down to a steady 190. No doubt you could do other starches instead! PS My blood work went from scary bad to wonderful! Good Luck! It can work for you too!

    I gave up consuming animal products and alcohol in 2017 and never looked back. Dr. John McDougall was and still is the major inspiration that bolstered my confidence and assured me that the path I decided to embark upon was the right one - something my body already innately knew. For me, it started out as a way to improve my overall health and well-being. Since then, it has flourished into being not about me, but rather, about avoiding the unnecessary harm and cruelty to animals. Personal health benefits are merely a side effect, heh. So yeah. I'm proud to say that I consider myself an ethical vegan now. But you know what? I'm equally as proud to say I've been cold and disease-free since 2017, thanks in large part to Dr. John McDougall. You are missed but will never be forgotten, friend.

      My mom is "type 1.5" diabetic. She follows McDougall's advice 100%, and when she eats Chef AJ's Spanish Rice (big bowls full) her glucose might go up to 180mg/dL. If she'd eat cake or fried chicken, that glucose would be in the 400s.

    • @dj-fe4ck
      @dj-fe4ck 2 місяці тому +4

      It doesn't matter if it "spikes" your blood sugar as long as it goes back down to normal levels shortly after eating. I can eat 2 pounds dry weight of white rice in one meal and my blood sugar is under 120 2 hours after I finish eating it.

    • @Aquapumpkin
      @Aquapumpkin 2 місяці тому +1

      @@dj-fe4ck when I eat only carbs in a meal (I have tried 200g of dry weight brown rice, white rice, spelt berries, oat groats, millet, quinoa) my glucose drops to 3mmol at approximately 2.5-3 hours after the meal, and stays low for about 30 mins before getting back to low 4. Do you have any ideas why? I’m 6ft 30m 120lbs so not obese. It doesn’t usually happen if I eat 150g dry weight plus like 2oz of nuts/seeds. And it also doesn’t happen if I eat 200g dry weight of mung beans or chickpeas with 200-300g of steamed non starchy veg.

      keep eating meat everyday and you wont even make it to 77. why do you think eating excess cholesterol is going to prolong your life? it isnt. the body creates its own cholesterol so all excess cholesterol is deposited into your arteries as plaque which will lead to stroke much earlier. your little jab at the end of your comment makes me sick because youre actually the perfect example of dunning kruger
