Thank you very much for this. It took 40 years since the demise of such a wonderful composer whose music will always remain timeless, to be recalled in such a beautiful way. I will share it as much as I can, as I know of many die hard Sudhin Dasgupta fans, who share my thoughts too.

আমি ছোটবেলা থেকেই শ্রদ্ধেয় সুধীন দাসগুপ্তর ভক্ত।তখন মূলতঃ বাংলা সিনেমার গান শুনতাম।আধুনিক বাংলা গানে ওনার অবদানের কথা পরে জেনেছি।বিশেষত মান্না দে,আশা ভোঁসলে ও আরতি মুখার্জীর কন্ঠকে উনি যেভাবে ব্যবহার করেছেন সেটা অনন্য।ওনার সুর এই তিন শিল্পীকে বাংলা সিনেমার গানের ক্ষেত্রে প্রতিষ্ঠা দিয়েছে।তিন ভুবনের পারে,প্রথম কদম ফুল,শঙ্খবেলা,পিকনিক,এপার ওপার,হার মানা হার,ছদ্মবেশী,স্বয়ংসিদ্ধা,বসন্ত বিলাপ,অপরাজিতা,হংসরাজ ইত্যাদি ছবি তার উদাহরণ।আপনাকে অসংখ্য ধন্যবাদ এই তথ্যচিত্রটি নির্মাণ করার জন্য।সুধীন দাসগুপ্তকে সঠিকভাবে মূল্যায়ণ করার জন্য এমন উদ্যোগ প্রয়োজন ছিল।

আমি শ্রী সুধীন দাশগুপ্তর ভীষন বড় ফ্যান৷ শুধুমাত্র একজন গড়পড়তা শ্রোতা হিসেবেই৷ আমার কোনও technical তালিম নেই৷ তাই, নিজের কানের ওপরেই নির্ভর করেই শুনে চলি৷ ওনার সুরের গানের বিবিধতা আমাকে মুগ্ধ করে৷ ছোটবেলার স্মৃতি ভরা আছে ওনার বানানো গানে৷ এসব গান ওনার তৈরী, সেসসব তো জেনেছি অ-নে-ক পরে!
আশাজীকে দিয়ে উনি যা গান গাইয়েছেন, প্রতিটি একটি মুক্তো৷
ব্যক্তিগত ভাবে মনে করি বাংলা আধুনিক গানের জগতে প্রেমের গানের epitome is:

I wanted to see this film in one sitting, and that was possible only yesterday. For a day I was living with it before getting back to you. I wonder how many of us really knew about Sudhin Dasgupta's versatile intellect and talent, and him, still as a down-to-earth complete person! Such an unthinkable depth! আমার ছোট বেলা কেটেছে সিথীতে, ওখানে থাকতাম। আমি ওনার পেছন পেছন যেতাম ডি গুপ্ত লেনে। খুব ভাবুক মনে হাঁটতেন। আমার কাছে উনি বিস্ময় ছিলেন। পাঞ্জাবি র হাতা গুটিয়ে পরতেন।ওটাই ওনার স্টাইল। খুব ভালো বাসি ওনাকে। ক্রিয়েটিভ মানুষ কে না ভালোবাসে। আমি কিন্তু স্কুলে পড়তাম। ওনার ভাবুক মন আমাকে ভাবাতো। সঙ্গে সুবীর হাজরা থাকতেন।পরে নাম জেনেছি।আসলে গান পাগল মানুষ আমি। জামাকাপড় কেনার টাকায় রেকর্ড কিনে আনতাম।বাবা বলতেন সোয়েটার না কিনে রেকর্ড কিনলে শীত করলে কি করবে।বাবা খুব বড় শিক্ষা বিদ ছিলেন। ওখানে আমার বাবার নামে রাস্তা আছে।বেশি কিছু বলতেন না। খুব নরম মনের মানুষ ছিলেন।সব মনে পড়ে।

I am blessed to have known Sudhinda very closely. Our family friend Gauri Prassana Ghosh ( Monua Ghosh) his friend who lived in London introduced me to Sudhinda . I started taking singing lessons from him twice a week separately solo classes at Banichakra. What a great human being he was. I still have so much lovely memories of him as my teacher and Guru. Pronam to Sudhinda and his wife 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Nice documentary ! However, he composed music for every singer of golden era. This documentary is missing that.. moyur konthi rater neel e by manabendra mukherjee is missing .. 1962 রিলিজ আয়নাতে মুখ দেখবো না এবং টাপুর টুপুর সারা দুপুর .. তরুণ ব্যানার্জী র ওই কালো দুটি চোখে.. তালাত মাহমুদ এর এই রিমঝিম ঝিম বরষায় .. সন্ধ্যা মুখার্জী র আজ হোলি খেলবো ...আরতি মুখার্জী র এই আকাশ নতুন বাতাস নতুন বা দূরে দূরে কাছে কাছে...অরুন্ধতী হোম চৌধুরী র এত বড় আকাশ টা কে ...কোনো উল্লেখ ই নেই এসব গানের। স্বর্ণযুগের সব শিল্পী র জন্য উনি compose করেছেন। সেটা ঠিক ভাবে ধরা হয় নি এই ডকুমেন্টারি তে। কিছু গান বারবার বাজানো হয়েছে। ওনার ব্যাপ্তি ঠিক ভাবে ধরার চেষ্টা হয় নি। এটা কঠিন কাজ।

রবিন চ্যাটার্জি নচিকেতা ঘোষ সুধীন দাশগুপ্ত দের কাছে বাংলা সিনেমা র গান চিরঋনী। বেসিক গান এ এদের পাশাপাশি সলিল চৌধুরী অনল চ্যাটার্জি প্রবীর মজুমদার অভিজিৎ ব্যানার্জী আছেন। পাশাপাশি হেমন্ত বা শ্যামল মিত্র র মতো গায়ক সুরকার রা আছেন।
এই সব বরেণ্য সুরকার দের কাজের প্রতি যোগ্য সুবিচার করেছেন গোল্ডেন যুগের গায়ক গায়িকা রা। এই সব সুরকারদের ওপর কিছু করবার আগে অনেক হোম work এর প্রয়োজন। আপনারা শুধুই আশা ভোঁসলে র গান বাজিয়ে গেলেন। সেই গান গুলো ও দারুন ই। আমি অন্ধকার এর যাত্রী র মতো গান আর দ্বিতীয় টি নেই। আশাজী র প্রতি শ্রদ্ধা রেখেই বলছি এটা ওনার সৌভাগ্য যে উনি সুধীন দাশগুপ্ত র গান করেছেন। আমাদের এই বাংলা তে ধনঞ্জয় সতীনাথ মানবেন্দ্র শ্যামল তরুণ সুবীর সেন পিন্টু ভট্টাচার্য দের গান এর কথা ও বলা উচিত। উৎপলা সেন সন্ধ্যা প্রতিমা আরতি মুখার্জী দের এমন অনেক গান আছে ওনার সুরে যা এক একটা মণিমুক্ত। বাংলা ছবি র পাশাপাশি অসমীয়া ছবি অরণ্য র গান ..সিলে সিলে ঠেকা গান টি শুনেছেন? সেই গানের শুরু টা শুনেছেন? বনশ্রী ছবি তে ..এ পাথর কথা বলে যায় গান টা শুনবেন... কি ভাবে উনি ওয়েস্টার্ন স্টাইল কে ক্লাসিকাল এর সাথে মিশিয়েছেন! জবান ছবি র গান ..দিল যদি হয় দিওয়ানা.. শুনবেন।
ছোটদের রামাযান ও স্বার্থপর দৈত্য কে হাইলাইট করার দরকার। কারণ এগুলো ছোট দের জন্য। কেউ কি ছোট দের কথা ভাবে? ছোট রা এখন ছোট থেকেই বড়ো। ছোটদের রামাযান অসাধারন সৃষ্টি ওনার। হংসরাজ এর সেই গান..বড়ো কষ্টে আমি পেলাম খুঁজে যা...এসব গানের উল্লেখ ই নেই।
সুধীন দাশগুপ্ত বলতেন ইকোনমি অফ নোটস এর কথা। যেন আকাশ কে বোলো না কখনো গান টা এখানে যিনি গাইলেন তিনি কি ব্যাপারটা মাথায় রেখে গেয়েছেন?
পুরো স্পেকট্রাম তো ধরতে চেষ্টা করতে হবে..এটাই বলার। আমি ও যে সব জানি তা ও নয়। কত জনের কথা হয়তো আমি ও জানি না।
তবুও ভালো লাগলো..চার দেওয়াল এর মধ্যে নানান দৃশ্য কে গান এর কথা বলা হয়েছে। এই গানের বাণী অতি উৎকৃষ্ট!! এটাই ওনার ক্লাস।
