WVLP: Learning RadioBoss 01 - An Overview

- I need to learn RadioBoss to help set up a new programming environment at our local non-profit radio station WVLP 103.1 LPFM. I figured I'd sort of document the learning process by sharing what our intended programming structure should be and what I've learned about how to get there. More knowledgeable people can help by telling me I'm doing stupid things! This first video just discusses our overall intent, with a demo of how to load up repetition of a single file type: our top-of-the-hour Station ID.
Thank you for making this... we are in the same boat. Learning and I would love to get the shuffle feature working with loaded scheduled playlists.
Do you have fixed playlists and want the songs in them played randomly? Do you have the original library so you can just create playlists one at a time on the fly (that would making them shuffled by default).
Yo whatsup could you make an updated version of these tutorials. They are great and it would be fun to see an updated complete tutorial now that you know how to use it. Thanks!
Ha, thanks! The sad thing is, I learned some more but once we got it up to a basic level I turned the operation over to our station manager, so my knowledge base does not go a whole lot deeper....
Hey Ken, I have an 8 hour playlist but, how do I get RB to fire off a station ID, bumper, sweeper etc, after each track?
I have another video about generating automated playlists, and that shows how to insert things like that. So what I'd do is mimic the demo there to make, say, a half hour "rotation" and lay it out song - ID - song - sweeper - song - ID etc, in whatever arrangement you like. Then have the playlist generator run that rotation enough times to fill the 8 hour period (16 times). Having said that, some people say the new version RB 7 has changed the way some things work, but I have not messed with it yet. And there might be ways to have RB itself know to shove an item in between songs, such as by treating them as ads, but I am not up to speed on that either.
Is there any option like auto dj. Also how to update music library and add the song to auto dj when new tracks are added.
If you mean by "auto dj" that you want to just have automatic generation of random playlists created and aired, that's in my video with "03" in the title. You can also visit the forums for users of the software at www.djsoft.net/community/forums/support-center.1/

A web site for what? I'm just relaying my experience learning the Radio Boss software... If you're planning an internet broadcast, you would have to have your own URL.
