Great to learn about Solarrolla...close cousins in the solar transportation movement. So interesting to see what happens with a different designpriority; while Aptera is going for efficiency, Solarrolla seems to be going for utility. I will watch them with interest, and wish them success. Brett seems like a great guy.
I would like to see a kit that would fit on different electric cargo vans, and use all the original drivetrain and battery, with extra range extender batteries added separately that charge directly from the solar and can be used to charge the traction battery. This seems like the lowest cost and simplest solution that can be delivered as a DIY kit.
There seem to be a lot of pop up tents like the one on the VW Bus. But I have not seen any with built in solar other than theirs. Seems like the best thing you could do. Sounds like he will be looking at a full sized motor home pretty soon.
I am very confused... i am no electrical engineer, but... how hard is it to charge high voltage batteries directly from solar? I know Entelligent and others are working on DC coupled ev charging, but why isn't that here already? You have to mate the voltage. Ok cool nit that hard... what else? Solar and wind make dc. How long till our houses, those that are able to support green energy, are run on DC and leave ac to the grid and transmission? V2H will allow us to have our own dc micro gris with the only conversions happening when we need to transmit.
Is solarrolla a play on motorolla? -olla is a play on viola as motorolla and other devices at the time were called -olla because they included a vinyl record player. Motorolla made record players for motors or cars. So solarrolla woud be a record player for your solar.
An informal interview that does not feel scripted and is packed full of interesting information.. and that's your takeaway? Alrighty, then. Should he remove his hat and wipe his feet too?
@@artsmith103 Sorry, but this is not the first, second or third time Steve has done this. A guest always deserves a proper introduction. I said please.
steve, you get further and further off base. Your videos are wandering, and every-bit as speculative if not more so than the trolls spout off about Aptera.
These are real solar powered vehicles serving satisfied customers in different markets. There's plenty to learn and appreciate relative to Aptera not demonstrating nor delivering vehicles.

Excellent find AGAIN, Sir...great interview of GREAT use to run the house when not traveling.
Another great find, Steve. Thanks.

Great thing he's doing! It further shows that solar and electric aren't the future; they're the present.
Very cool creative guy .
I want a solar canopy to put in the back of my Aptera that can double as a lean to shade.
I wonder how solarolla would approach building a vehicle to pair with the lightship..
Neat! There's a lot of amazing things happening with EV and solar technology!
While I was watching I just kept thinking that they could hook up with Aptera for solar on their vehicles and battery storage technology (e.g. MPPT).
You think Aptera is going to teach that guy something?!?!
Somehow I keep seeing something from Solarrolla. Great interview
It;s the Honey I Blew Up the Kids vehicle
Great to hear so much aptitude on an Aptera channel video! How many vehicles has he delivered?

Turbines are AC, then rectifiers make it DC.

Please chill.
@10:20, I can dig it
Let's just focus on Aptera and its progress to full scale manufacturing, shall we?
Feel free to skip the ones that don't interest you. The titles are pretty self explanatory.
