    I happened to find this video last weekend. Based on your video, I bought this particular machine from Amazon. I'm a single guy, 56 years old, work full time and just started my own I.T. company on the side so I don't have much free time and I don't need full size loaves of bread. My machine was delivered today and I started out with an Italian herb loaf. I'm sold. The dried basil was absolutely uniformly distributed through the whole loaf. Incredibly delicious with just a little olive oil drizzled over the top. I'll never buy bread from a store again. Thank you so much!

    The bonus of the smaller loaf is that it won't get stale by the time you get done eating all of it

    As an older person who was having trouble kneading my bread dough, this was a life saver. I bake loaves 2 or 3 times a week.

    I love my bread machine. Personally, I never bake my bread in it. I prefer to have the machine do the mixing and kneading then I remove the dough to shape and bake it. It's the perfect substitute for expensive and space consuming stand mixers.

    I recently found a Zojirushi Home Bakery Supreme at a local thrift store for $8. I've had bread machines before, but not for a while, and usually use my stand mixer (Bosch). The ease of being able to throw your ingredients in and have fresh bread whenever you want is wonderful. I'm single, and buying decent store-bought bread is expensive. Yes, the homemade loaves go stale or mold faster than store-bought bread, but bread is supposed to stale. Having additives that retard staling isn't a plus, IMHO.

    Loved your video 🍞!!! I bought my first breadmaker this week so scouring UA-cam looking for people using theirs. I’m experimenting with a sundried tomato and olive loaf today 🍅 🫒 🤞, not confident enough with it to set a delay timer yet but once I am I can’t wait to waking up to fresh bread smells 😝! Happy baking 🥖 x

    Hello, your video is excellent and I wish I had seen this back then as it only popped up today ❣️
    A bread machine is a great tool for disabled people like me but it has taken me several months to find the right one in my budget. For now I’m using the Dash and it’s working well for me. Someday I hope to get the zoji.
    I’d like to see what else you make in your machine!

    My machine has a dough cycle and I use it a couple times a week. I can’t knead dough by hand, so this is convenient for me. I have never baked a loaf in my my ever, I love forming my own rolls and bread.

    Informative video. I bought the mini model due to its price and size. It notably doesn't have the mixin compartment. But I'm overall pleased with the model.

    I would tell a friend, "Don't throw away your money!" As I write, June of 2024, the US dollar has been shrunk in purchasing power by the US government's policies. Merchants have not only raised prices, but many have reduced quality. If you buy a bread machine now, you will probably not get so durable a machine as months ago; certainly not so durable as years ago when I first bought one. It will probably be lighter, smaller and made of less durable materials. The merchants turn you over to an insurance company for warranty protection, as soon as possible - for a few dollars more (ten or twelve).
    More generally, I would avoid buying any small home appliance, if possible. The racks on small ovens are now called "wire racks", and - indeed - made of wire they are! Save your money for food and rent. You may need it!

    FYI you can remove the paddle after the last knead step before it rests to eliminate the hole. I used to have a bread maker with that step straight up in the instructions but haven't seen any others mention it.

      you’ll still have a hole though! it’s just… smaller 😭

    hmmm i got one on the jungle website for 35 bucks. i recently go a pasta extruder gun lol, which is super convenient for making asian style noodles and wanted to basically get something to mix the pasta dough and make it a lot easier to clean up after. my gf really likes the fresh egg noodles and they basically cook instantly and i can premix them in the bread maker and leave them there for an hour or two until we cook dinner since its covered unlike a stan mixer.

    I just use my KitchenAid Stand Mixer for bread just like I use it for pretty much everything. So I don’t need a bread machine.
    To much clutter for me.

    I also make sourdough breads by hand and I do have larger bread machines. My question is, normal bread machines can’t bake sourdough unless commercial yeast is added. How do you make sourdough in this machine, use the program function? If so, what settings do you use?
    Edit: I just saw you added yeast to the mix for sourdough. Pure SD has no yeast as you know. You could just program the cycles and just use the starter, no yeast. I have the Zojirushi Supreme and the Virtuoso which does this.

    I'm very happy to have bought the machines on Ebay for little money, grandma's death.. the brand new machine ended up on ebay. I never paid more than 10 -20 dollars for it.. All machines come from China... mine have 1 kilo each up to 1.3 kilo bread size. I live in Indochina when I read all the chemicals in the supermarket bread I get sick of.. an endless list of substances that I don't want to eat. I bake all the bread, buns and cakes myself.. I don't buy any either pink colored sausages more. my sausage is also made by myself..
    I wouldn't want to do without my bread machines (3 pieces)....

    If you totally follow the recipe and it sinks in every time is it time to throw it away, donate it to a salvage shop. I am unable to get a loaf and I think this was a waste of money. I started my bread making journey during the pandemic and using sourdough. I've been told that was to ambitious so that is why I was no good at it...this lead me to to getting a machine.
    Can you give me your honest opinion. Is it just time for me to give it up?
    Thank you

    • @rachel_loaf
      @rachel_loaf  8 місяців тому +1

      sorry just to clarify, you’re having trouble making a recipe with the bread machine? definitely dont give up. try a different recipe! King Arthur Flour has very very reliable recipes. Start there! Make sure your water is lukewarm (not hot, not cold), make sure your eggs are room temp etc. Thats likely the culprit of your loaf falling! You can do it.

    • @rachel_loaf
      @rachel_loaf  8 місяців тому +1

      If you ever want to get back into sourdough I highly recommend the Josey Baker sourdough book, and bake your way through each recipe (it’s organized like a curriculum) and it will make things a lot simpler!
