Thanks Simon fantastic video we are taking your advice and testing the Gap tool soon and giving feature feedback to Gap as its in beta for the New Defender 👌🏽. Update on the rear shock issue is we found wires sheered off due to rear shock coming loose, cause unknown at this stage officially but we have heard it happening to a few vehicles. No doubt landrover are onto it. 👍🏽
Hey Simon a little off this videos topic, but do you intend to put a hitch receiver on any of your Defender's? I think with what I've read with the shortage of hitches out there and not many Defender's having them from the factory it would be a good video to do. Thanks Andrew
Hi Simon, its me again. Ralf. Witch Adapter for OBD2 you have orderd from Gap Diagnostics? Is it possible to deactivate some things, like the autonomus emergency braking? Greetings
I have a 2007 full size Range Rover I bought and that came with factory heated seats. The seats were torn up and I had an opportunity to get the heated/cooled for 2007-2009. To make a short story long, where is the harness under the seat to plug the module in? In my FFR 2010 the harness was under the carpet of the front passenger seat, I programmed with my gap tool and they worked seamless. Am I missing something? I pulled up the carpet on both sides of the front seats and nothing. I’ve looked everywhere for answers and I know I’m not crazy.
As a customer of both New Defender mods and PowerfulUK they are both great places to get mods. Would recommend to any Aussie that wants to get their new Defender sorted for hitting the bush/beach. Shame we can't you guys to work together s the cost of shipping from the UK makes most of your smaller parts expensive.
Yes - shipping OZ / UK (and vice versa) is horrible. I ordered The Seekers Final DVD (signed one) just before Judith died and the cost of shipping and Customs to send this small DVD from Oz to the UK was more than the cost of the DVD - it cost about £35. 😱
Always interesting trying to follow you Simon…I think my dampers are alright but they are Adaptive so one day I might need this advice!! Still catching up asap…I’m miles behind everybody..🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️😬😬😬😀😀😀😀Richard
Hi Simon Completely different subject but thought I would ask..I need to remove silicone sealant that was under the rear protection cover you have provided...fantastic item... and then need to refix it. Can you let me know what you used to remove the old sealant. Many thanks Simon
Simon, perfect and informative as always. I just returned from the visit at the second dealership which does not know what to do with this issue. My defender always levels itself so the front is -1degree (on a flat surface) and in each suspension mode (access hight, normal, offroad) the gyroscope shows -1 degree on the front side. Dealer checked everything, no errors analysed, no hardware issues either (like leaks etc). What would you recommend? I compared it on the same surface with another defender with air suspension and the lowered front is immediately visible on mine. Car has 8 months, the issue started while ago. Thanks for any advice which is much appreciated.
my defender's front end sinks noticeably lower after parking overnight. Every morning, the front has sunk down relative to the rear. Dealer has given me the same response as yours and says there's nothing to fix. It definitely does not seem right to me.
Interestingly, ive been trying to diagnose my suspension becoming very firm with the iid tool. I get the same values as you when looking at the different parameters. I get the feeling that the iid tool is incorrectly reading data because damper characteristics specifically damper stiffness should change when moving from comfort to grass/ gravel/snow ( gets softer). This isn't reflected on any live view. After all the iid tool is in beta for the l663
Additionally, I'm sure you're already aware, but the tool does allow you to see the firmware ver of each module. An issue with the shocks may also be the result of tuning changes or ota updates to modules breaking something. To me the left side of the vehicle is way bumpier than the right side. Thats my theory because these dampers are inherently reliable. I'm curious how a dealer would diagnose this. I'm guessing roadtest, updating calibration, and then finally replacing the chcm module

What were the symptoms? Mine rides quite rough. Wife gets car sick it moves around d so much.
I can see there's both a numeric and graph-mode and a red button that looks like it's for recording dynamic data? Have you tried those?

Yes Ben and I are trying to work out how we can work together to make parts more cost effective for customers in Aus....
Thanks Hugh!

Super vid. Will the GAP IID G4 work with a 2024 Disco 5?
Check with the guys at GAP
Ok but can I add walk away locks with this tool?

The G4 is now released, maybe do a series on that...
Just collected one from GAP for testing
Доброго здоров'я привіт з України!
Интересно было посмотреть
I am not a great fan of too much technology in a car, but the thought gone into the design of the new defender is truly incredible.
That 900 hundred value is the wading height in CM , Just a thought.
Come on LR, give us variable damping for camping.

Another good video Simon 🚗🚙👍👍👍⭐️⭐️⭐️
I need to go and lie down after watching this 🤯.
I like the video as well, really interesting.

Hi Eric - yes the IID tool is still in Beta test as you state - I will see if i can get the values to change in different modes
