Y'know, I spent 20 minutes thinking that epic fucking glissando at the beginning was a trombone who then meshed into the trumpet melody. Even wrote a long ass comment.
Then I listened harder for two or three reps, and realized there was NO WAY that wasn't a trumpet. The voice is still present during the melody, and is cleaner than a trombone can be. It has to be a trumpet. And I played trumpet for 7 years, I should know what one sounds like.
Then I remembered mutes exist. Holy shit. A cup mute, iirc, is what's used here, paired with a CLEAN rolled r into the mouthpiece. And they're so much fun.

3D World is really my favourite game not just in the mario series, but of all games. I finally got the sprankling 5 star logo on my Wii U safe file screen, all stamps, green stars, top of the flag, and beat every level with every character, FOR THE SECOND TIME.
