I am in South Florida and that would make an amazing mullet imitation. Tarpon go absolutely insane for them during the mullet run along our coasts. Very nice fly and thank you for these great videos!

Me, I have no use for this type of fly but, as always Davie, excellent tying demonstration. Thank you for another lesson.

Bucktail supporting rabbit strips (cut to smaller lengths) counterbalanced by dumb-bell eyes works a charm for big browns, pike, you-name-it here in SW Ontario. It casts and it "jigs" like nothing else. And talk about a breeze to tie! I've even used red/orange flashy dubbing for gills behind more typical colours for the head e.g. black, brown, gray, dark olive.

Like Davie mentioned, you can use a dubbing loop on the head. Without that leather the fly stays a lot lighter and you can add flash or other materials in the loop.

Great looking bunny there mate. That would be a perfect fly for bass and Muskie, and the bronze as well. Thanks for sharing another great pattern. Could you also go a bit smaller with it. Have a great day and be safe my friend. Best Regards, Ken

      Hi Ken,
Yes you could easily tye it in many sizes to suit the fish you are trying to represent, I'm glad you liked it...I filmed another one of these patterns a couple of months back and forgot about this one and with so many asking for another saltwater fly I uploaded this one today...I hope you are well..
      All the very best Davie..

Are those definitely 5mm eyes? They look much bigger.

      Hi Glynn,
I did hold up the 5mm ones in the video though I agree with you they do look bigger but it was a while back and I don't have any left though you can buy 7mm size as well..
      All the very best Davie

@@DavieMcPhail i must have blinked and missed it 😂 lovely fly that will be getting copied, are those eyes hard wearing because they will be used in pretty rough conditions or would metal dumbbells be better ?
