I looked him up on armory too. WTF. He has leather armor. His best piece of gear is his belt which is level 53. A perfectly fine piece of gear but it shouldn't be the best on your character as a level 60 warrior tank. I always wondered why Asmon gets mad watching these. This is why.

I wouldn't call coming into work 15 minutes late every day "doing your job", but that's just me. Yeah, the warrior is primarily at fault for having the wrong gear on. But the mage waiting for his frostbolt casts to finish, getting the healer spell pushback ticks for no reason when he could've just, like, not done that, was also a problem.

That mage quest in SW is the great filter for mages
Yep, I lost my mage with pretty solid Gear and few golds on that :D Just because I have always skipped that Q and was curious what is it about :D Lesson learnt! :D Also, I did not have only 2 voids there but like 6 or 8 :D
@@ShireOfficialwhen i did mine 3 of them jumped me!! Luckily a Palladian was nearby for some reason and decided to heal/tank for me! (I later died at lvl 22 in the most embarrassing way possible)
I died on my troll mage to that. I had no idea what the quest was like and 4 of them just jumped me and nuked me down.
they almost always spawn in multiples, but if you tag one and run away, they are not group tagged. so you attack 1, run away, fireblast maybe, the others reset and you can solo one in peace. rinse and repeat, worked for me in UC @@atheld8124
the UC same quest is so much easier. you can run up the bridge and just fight 1 at a time
Yea, very smart decision to tank baron rivendaire with leather gimp gear instead of farming BRD and easier dungeons before attempting it. Considering that you even get pretty much instant invite to any group as a tank there is no excuse
The mage died before the warrior and paladin petried. The mage also took care of all the skelies each time they spawned and ran them from pally (who chose to stand in the spawn area for said skelies). He absolutely did not grief.

Mage did nothing wrong. As I said in another comment: The mage **WAS** doing his job. He was hitting the boss with frostbolt and was the only one keeping the adds off of the healer. The tank couldn't keep aggro, the rogue wasn't paying attention to his threat meter, and the hunter pretty much didn't do sht to help the mage keep the adds off of the healer.
I'd say the adds got in too many hits in the healer and causing pushback.
He took too long to clear them up, there shouldn't be a 10 second period of skeletons running around, it should be 3-5 seconds.
Edit: Watching it again, if he wasn't wasting so much mana on blink and was a little more efficient with movements, on every skeleton wave after the first they were aggroed to the healer and 1-3 explos would have cleared them but hes shielding and blinking around. Had he cleaned that up and put a few more frostbolts it might have turned that fight into a win. Not all his fault but there it is.
Mage should just dps boss, everyone takes a turn to throw holy water on the healer. The last skeleton wave if healer bubbles then tank or other dps can AE skeletons. Also, the tank should have blessing of light, shield wall, lay on hands, armor pots, etc mage was taking way too much damage

The rogue couldn't do more damage, because the tank was so bad.
No aggro, no gear, no survivability.
I see he wanted to get away from baron to reduce the incoming damage, but that he ran out of LoS and had extremely bad positioning.
Instead of him being closer to the healer, baron was closer so the healer would get hit by the damage aura.
The tank really didn't know any specifics about the fight, that were very simple at the same time.

Yeah, hurts to see. But it's HC after all and chances are that the priest will die shortly after this anyhow, and it's not completely useless for a warlock while leveling. Fuck the warlock's friend though that wanted to roll and give it to the lock as well.
1:59 This is why I never sought out or had any interest in hardcore mode, even on private servers. It's not just knowing the game in term of mobs, mechanics and tactics: it's that you require foreknowledge of all the possible bugs and glitches. I have died taking the elevator in UC because I fell through the floor of the elevator. I died from falling off a flight point mount before - the flight point mount vanished shortly after take off and down I went. You could play 100% - and just randomly get fucked over - no thanks man, I'm not going through that kind of stress.
I dont play - i just watch because i love the nostalgia but i dont have time for wow anymore - and im curious about this take bc I thought you could submit death appeals for that sort of thing
On normal servers with HC addon you could appeal, but these clips are from blizzards official HC server where they said "If you die to some bs like bugs or glitches, they are not gonna do anything about it.

Same. I've died or come close to dying to so many random glitches over WoW's lifetime that I don't even want to touch hardcore. And that's not even counting if there's a simple hiccup in their servers or your ISP - all it takes is a second.
I kind of get hardcore in a game like Diablo - at least if you're knowledgable about the game you can regear in a reasonable amount of time if you lost the toon. But still, way too much stress for me, especially with live service games, even more so for a game like WoW where going to raid night may be the end of your toon you spend 100s of hours on. Or dying to a random glitch you never say coming.

Hes literally not attacking the boss. Just sit on the healer do 1 aoe on skeletons when healer get aggro instead hes running and jumping around taking unnecessary aoe damage.

The warrior was way worse moving the boss but the mage played bad aswell.

Depending where you start these flight paths can be ridiculously long. OTOH, how did he get the WS waypoint at that level? Because usually in WS you quest at levelrange 55-60, and with level 49 you have a significantly larger aggro radius. At level 55 his aggro radius would've been 6 yards less, that bear might have turned around.

um mage arcane blasted the adds, were the war's gear caused the pally to have to spam heal and get healer aggro. even if the mage could have done more, the primary reason that happened was the war.

The warrior was the lynchpin in their defeat, he was being an idiot luring enemies so they'd move outside of healer range, hiding from the healer, losing aggro on mobs.
Bet you that you can tell a bad tank from a good tank by the gear they have in Hardcore. Bad tanks don't get good gear, guarantee it. Because a bad tank doesn't live long enough to get good gear.
8:58 Clips like this are always so weird to me. Hes underleveled in the area, doesnt appear to be a streamer, is just randomly recording the entire time hes afk. Not saying this one is staged but I feel like some of these clips are just so they can get into the HC comps.
what? Nvidia shadowplay is recording all the time and you can save the last 20 minutes if you want to. I play hardcore too and my shadowplay is recording non stop.

It's just nanny-cam strategies. Especially for a flightpath that can be as long as Winterspring (presuming most people came from Ratchet or about that far away).

Ranker Paladin's PoV of the Baron wipe -- Mage cleared skeletons really poorly, Warrior was very undergeared (and potentially wrong stance/weapons), the only criticism of the paladin can be he spent too many globals keeping the idiot rogue alive when he needed to be pre healing the tank to compensate for the incoming MS. Its a hard fight to heal on pala if your allies are dummies, for sure

Just real quick about the Lock dagger. I had the same thing happen to me in ERA and you would THINK that yes this is a good weap its op af omg look at it its purple. But nope just a stat stick with decent stats. Its effect that makes it look good procs on a 1% average so you wont be using the effect in combat or anything. It gets you 100-200 mana back per boss and that dosen't help a warlock. Also the dot side of the effect dose not happen

That mage quest in SW is cancer. Not even a good reward. You need to be like 16+, and I think you get it at 14. And if you spawn two or more of those mobs you frost nova and run. Even if you're over level they hit like a truck.
The pally played right. Damn shame he lost his warrior. As a former pally healer, I feel that deeply. It probably sucks that much more in Hardcore.
ONLY thing I would've done differently is use blessing of light on the tank. Blessing of light is straight up busted and can make a rank 1 FoL super powerful as a result of spell power ratio and shit. Everyone thinks Kings is the way to go but BoL is superior in most cases.

Healing an undergeared tank as a pally is horrible. When you're forced to switch from Flash of Light to Holy Light for throughput it drains your mana *fast*.
Big battleground with 40 vs 40 pvp would be a funny hardcore mode.

I've been watching a lot of HC stuff, not really on the official servers but the guys that were already doing it via the HC fan site and recording playthroughs like Guzu.. When Cata classic comes (provided it isn't utter crap) I might do my own version of a hardcore run, 1 life per 10 levels maybe, no trading of course. I'd absolutely die if I had one life for the full run, but with a bit of breathing room I could make it work and it does look super thrilling.
no hate, everyone can play however they seem fits them. But 1 Death every 10 lvls in CATA? With the new homogogenized and easy as hell open world quest zones? Thats not a real challenge in my opinion, you barely need to change your playstyle for that.
But as I said, if its fun for you, try it out and enjoy your time :)
But maybe try the HC servers. In my opinion the non solo HC is way more fun and accesible than the SSF inofficial we had before. Its not incredible hard to get to 60 if you play somewhat carefully and you will start to play this game way more like an actual RPG, doing professions and getting consumes.

You literally have to attempt to die on purpose with cata leveling. Wotlk leveling already basically no point to do a hardcore.

A lot of these have a pirate or ninja buff. Is there a hidden reason why people have the pirate or ninja buff? I guess it is to simply be a ninja or pirate?

Back when nobody knew the game and saw a ninja or pirate, most people were in awe and wondering how to do that.
It was a little secret to some extent and every time when someone knows something that most people didn't know, then that made them special.
It was some point during LK that fury warriors would que up as tanks. It was fine if they had gear. My resto druid was pimped out and I would roll boom. When I was rolling with guild mates never a problem. Then I would que random and get some warrior that had just hit 80 and thought they could fury tank. Didn't matter if I was boom or resto. They can't hold agro like that. Then when they die they blame the hunter, the warlock, then healer etc.
I did a fuck ton of farming ZF in og classic for flask money. Watching a lv 47 mage do it and do nearly the full pull had me shookith
Yeah I did it too. To be honest mage without air grind in classic is so boring.
But, I wouldn’t do full pull like that, especially in HC, AND there’s a patrol. Not saying I can’t pull it off, the tolerance for error is way too low like that.
I like how using your class abilities properly makes you a "g" in hardcore.
1:50 thats not a bug. If the teleporter fails, it deals 130% of your max HP over a set amount of time. Now im not sure if it should tick the remaining amount at the end all at once, but he would have died anyway without drinking any potions.
So much mage hate. I played mage years ago and you have to aoe farm to level up like other classes. Frostbolts cost too much mana, for effectively the same mana as 2 or so mobs you could have killed multiple enemies with aoe. You end up with the same downtime effectively.
We all understand mages need to AOE and they should. They have the best AOE in the game. The problem is that mages tends to be VERY greedy with their AOE. Most of these AOE death can be avoided if they were just a bit more patient.

It's funny how i've not played WoW in years and last time i played was in Shadowlands (yeah i'm sorry for myself too) but like even i knew just by the name "Truestrike Shoulders" that they're leather, how do i know? i played a paladin in original vanilla and had to keep these tanks alive for like 7 years from vanilla till cataclysm and they always thought they were hot shit when they were just shit, but hey blame the healer that's the easy way to be a bitch.
Honestly though healing people like that is like playing frost mage in molten core, you have one button till your finger that you use for that button has a six pack.
You don't stand in front on at the back of dragons in WoW. It has been like this for 20 years. People still fuck it up

I know no one can tell Asmon what to do but I wish he would just put his camera over the minimap.
I'd never play hardcore, if you're not a shitter, you either die to a bug while questing or get to end game content and some shitter being shit kills your group, you can say goodbye to those hundreds of hours you spent on your character. I don't see how that's fun at all.

The guy who died from engineering teleporter, jesus, i truly believe you should be able to contact GM in these cases especially if it's recorded and they should revive HC characters that clearly died due to a bug or a glitch that blizz cannot (or won't) fix.
